This may be the worst service I have ever experienced... ever across the board with any type Of service!!! So bad that I am actually on Yelp reviewing for the first time in 3 years. I was referred to this shop by my girlfriend's father (who was extremely enthusiastic to share) while on vacation, and I have to say, this was the best shaving experience I've ever had. My grandfather was a barber, and this is the kind of place he would go to. I let Gary (? To be honest, I was so relaxed I might be messing up his name. From Brooklyn. Amazing.) do the work: he examined my face, talked me through what he wanted to do and how he thought it would look, and we decided on a course of action. My head was shaved to the exact length I wanted, and then the chair was tilted back for my shave. Gary's hands showed the years of experience in finding every hair, keeping the perfect tilt on the razor, everything. This is the only shop in all of Naples that does a hot shave, and the only one that does it to this level that I've ever been to. Having cream applied and a straight razor swished around isn't a hot shave. This is the real deal: steaming hot towels. Conditioners. More towels. Fresh cream. Even hotter towels. Want an even BETTER experience? Do what I did and get the facial. EVEN MORE hot towels. Massage. A face peel Gary specifically imports from Sicily. A rum mask. More massage. While I was there, an older couple from Germany came in... apparently they fly in one a year to Naples, and every time they arrive, they come to the Downtown Barber. Yes, it's this good. I was so relaxed I didn't mind the long walk home. My girlfriend was delighted by the results. Service? Excellent. Prices? Amazing. Results? Extraordinary. In Naples? Cindy takes her time and seems to know what she's doing. Cool vibe in the shop, without any pretentious hipster bullshit. This is the place to go in Naples if you want a quality cut. I had used this barber shop in the past and like others, I stopped due to cleanliness issues and inconsistent haircuts... sometimes OK, sometimes not so good. I rarely write reviews, but I just had to report my experience there today. Based on the new owner's replies to comments here about positive changes, l decided to give them another chance. I had my hair cut by Anthony. That was a big mistake! There was hair around the chair from at least 2 previous clients (you could tell based on the hair color) and hair still all over the footrest when I was asked to sit down. So it seems the lack of concern for cleanliness has not changed. As for the haircut, probably the worst I have ever had. Completely uneven with one sideburn longer than the other (OK, no big deal... easy to fix) and the trimming around the ears had one much higher than the other are it was "peaked" rather than rounded..it actually came to a point! Of course they only show you the back in a reflection from a mirror 8 feet away, so you don't see some of these things until you get home. Sorry Matt you guys blew it! read more

Honestly I don't know who is giving her such a good ratings, maybe her friends, as this was a worse haircut I ever had ! Cindy didn't follow my directions whatsoever, did the bare minimum with no attention to details, the place was messy not to say dirty. My observation is that she knows only one style haircut, however it is not applicable to everybody. Was very happy with the quality of the services with prior owners. read more

This was a bad haircut. The clipper cut on the sides and back was just so-so and then scissor cut on tip was just a few snips and he sent me on my way. Hardly cut the top at all. The barber shop was pretty filthy also. Hair covered all the instruments/clippers. The barber didn't even bother to sweep up the hair of the previous gentlemen who was there before me.
