We were welcomed by our gracious host and was later given a tour by John. The staff were extremely accommodating & forthcoming with answering all our questions. I was very impressed with the almost pristine condition of all their antiques. There items I was quite familiar with and some I've never seen before or known what their uses are for, truly fascinating. This historical society mainly thrives on donations and mostly operated by the folks who volunteer. I'm very curious about attending the nighttime ghost tour but I'm also fairly skittish. If you are interested in learning about the history of this place, feel free to come and visit, it is only during Saturdays 10 am until 2 pm. Please call first as their schedule might change. Street parking only but we had no problem finding a spot.

Explore room by room, delicately laid out items are well preserved and very clean. Contraptions that will make you appreciate the true grit of our parents and grandparents. This used to be used for Sunday school rooms. Walk right in no appointment needed and sign the guest book. Church tour is right next door which will require reservation. The hours are limited, so it does take a little planning, but it's absolutely worth it. The exhibits are packed with interesting local history and fascinating artifacts that give real context to the area. The building itself is beautiful and adds so much character to the experience. The kids got to dig in the dirt to look for bugs, make molds of animal prints, and do a nature walk. My only concern and it's strictly personal and nothing against the museum is how long the sessions are where the kids have to listen to the lesson before they begin the activity. It can be difficult for a child with adhd or autism to tend. But again, that's nothing against the museum. However, my concern with them is the little nature walk paths are not small enough for the wheel chairs and there's a part of the nature walk that can be difficult for someone to push a child with a wheelchair stroller. Maybe something to keep in mind if you get a grant for additional funding. Outside of that, inside the building does have a wheelchair ramp. This field trip was nostalgic for me and overall we had an amazing experience with amazing staff! Everyone was absolutely amazing and friendly.

As a native to the area, I have always loved looking at the beautiful mountains , and looking at the natural arrowhead formation near the base of the mountain. The Arrowhead is located in the foothills just north of San Bernardino's Wildwood Park (40th Street and Waterman Avenue). This park at the bottom of the mountain is not in the best neighborhood . A chopped up decapitated body was found in this park a couple years back and the area has a high crime rate. No, I didn't want to get myself and friend killed, we were aware of our surroundings and got in and out as quick as we could. We had to wait in the car a couple extra minutes because the "easy tiger" warning was popping up on Angie's phone. We both giggled with nervousness as a transient man without a shirt walked by looking at us like we were crazy Parked in this little parking area. The landmark information plaque and monument had been badly damaged / vandalized. The area was covered with broken bottles, trash, and tagging on the rocks and monument. Even with the area in disarray, the view of the arrowhead is breathtaking. General info: The Arrowhead is 1,375 feet in length and 449 feet in width. It may appear to be man-made or artificial, but it is in fact natural. The face of the Arrowhead consists of light quartz and short white sage. This lighter vegetation shows in sharp contrast to the surrounding chaparral and greasewood. I grew up in Lake Arrowhead and heard some stories about the Arrowhead. The most ancient legend is one handed down from the Indians. The Great Spirit had an arrow. This was to guide his people to the spot where they were to live. The Great Spirit having selected the place, fixed the arrow to mark it forever. It has also been said that the Arrowhead pointed the way to the hot springs below, with healing qualities. Through the years, this landmark has survived numerous forest fires , flooding , and some erosion has taken place. However, the Arrowhead landmark continues to preserve its uniqueness and is easily visible from the local streets, freeway, and park.

Very unassuming place. It's a little hidden gem comprised of many nostalgic toys and random McDs themed things that were donated by locals and around the world! Seeing personally owned items was really neat to see. I even saw a set of ties a prior manager donated throughout his tenure at McDs. There is a penny souvenir machine at the front door. My kids both got one. I do wish they did a better job at preserving the "rides" outside. I do however understand the lack of space inside.

As told to us by the docent who escorted us, this was once a home owned by Fontana's founder, A B Miller. The home, hidden in a humble, nondescript neighborhood, is not located near their research library. You must drive about a mile to get there. The property is gated and locked, only viewable from the street if you go unaccompanied. This small home has been well cared for, and is largely in original condition. Stepping inside brings you face to face with life in the early 1900's in Fontana when it was still ranch land, citrus orchards, chicken farms, grape vineyards, and little else. The modest 4 room, one bath home is filled with some original antiques, pictures, many of them donated items. The original kitchen was in a separate building behind the 4 room, 1 bath home. In the side yard several antique vehicles are rusting, there are remnants of winery equipment, and a bright red barn that dominates the backyard. The good condition of this tiny museum is the result of many hands who lovingly respected their small community's influential history, as well as a volunteer faction of the Mormon community who generously offered their time and materials to special projects such as these.
