The exhibits are packed with interesting local history and fascinating artifacts that give real context to the area. The building itself is beautiful and adds so much character to the experience. Very unassuming place. It's a little hidden gem comprised of many nostalgic toys and random McDs themed things that were donated by locals and around the world! Seeing personally owned items was really neat to see. I even saw a set of ties a prior manager donated throughout his tenure at McDs. There is a penny souvenir machine at the front door. My kids both got one. I do wish they did a better job at preserving the "rides" outside. I do however understand the lack of space inside.

They really only have their two main exhibits, one of which is a history of Ontario and the other is about water conservation in Ontario. AC is really strong, clean facility, super nice staff... but honestly there really isn't much to see unless you're a local and really interested in your area's history. I think if they had their art exhibits open, it'd be an easy 5/5 despite being small because it is free.

It is a walk, however, to the museum from the parking areas. The entry fee is donation based and a minimum of 5$ is suggested. The museum has art from their permanent collections which includes antiquities and contemporary art. They offer new exhibits quite a bit so if yo have something particular in mind, give them a call. They also have solo installations by contemporary artists. This is the best museum in San Bernardino. If you like art you will enjoy this place. Have fun.

You can pay for two hour parking and save a dollar, but if you do the 5, you can walk around the campus. It is one of the greenest campuses in the Cal State system. Their members can be found diligently working on community projects in their own research library, a small, historic building in downtown Fontana, http://www.yelp.com/biz/fontana-historical-society-fontana. As told to us by the docent who escorted us, this was once a home owned by Fontana's founder, A B Miller. The home, hidden in a humble, nondescript neighborhood, is not located near their research library. You must drive about a mile to get there. The property is gated and locked, only viewable from the street if you go unaccompanied. This small home has been well cared for, and is largely in original condition. Stepping inside brings you face to face with life in the early 1900's in Fontana when it was still ranch land, citrus orchards, chicken farms, grape vineyards, and little else. The modest 4 room, one bath home is filled with some original antiques, pictures, many of them donated items. The original kitchen was in a separate building behind the 4 room, 1 bath home. In the side yard several antique vehicles are rusting, there are remnants of winery equipment, and a bright red barn that dominates the backyard. The good condition of this tiny museum is the result of many hands who lovingly respected their small community's influential history, as well as a volunteer faction of the Mormon community who generously offered their time and materials to special projects such as these. It was a true discovery that exceeded all expectations. The collection is incredible-the exhibits are deeply historical and truly move you. You can easily spend hours here and still not see everything. One of the most amazing highlights for me was an enormous book filled with original pages from old newspapers; the preservation is stunning. Being here was especially poignant for us as Ukrainians. We grew up on our grandfathers' stories about World War II, but today, these exhibits felt even more personal. With the current war in Ukraine and the horrific invasion causing the loss of our relatives on both sides, being surrounded by this history was incredibly atmospheric and emotional. It is such a gift that this museum is free to the public. Seeing the memorial flags and the dedication to history makes you feel the weight of the past. It's a must-visit for everyone--truly a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.
