This library has to be one of the worst I've been to in over 30 years. Not only are their sketchy people hanging out outside and in the parking lot, the inside is SO much worse! The stench from the unwashed homeless people was unbearable! Filth on the tables and floors. Truly the absolute worst! Loud voices going back and forth with zero respect to people trying to study. I will never, ever be back at this library. Absolutely disgusting. Security guard there does nothing to stop the homeless from acting up. He just sits there offers no help what so ever. It should just be given to the homeless since it's basically a homeless shelter. read more

I used to go to this library often with my dad, at least once a week. I have lots of great memories from those days. My library card had expired long ago, so I decided to stop in and get another one. Everyone was so nice and helpful, just as I remember from years ago. The library hasn't changed much. The big card catalog cases are gone, replaced by computers. Other than that, it looks the same as I remember it. I missed the Roseville Library and I'm glad I returned. I could spend all day here! read more

I'm biased because this was the library my mother would take me to between ages 5-15 and I adored it. 30 years later I dropped back in and it is much the same as it was back in 1988, with a few modern add ons like computer catalog and internet access. Totally charming place. Helpful librarians. Only complaint from me is that they do not run their own site, seems that I have to go through The City of Roseville (CA., not Michigan) to access the portal. I would like to be able to pay my late fees online. read more

Great library, all the librarians are super nice and they have a good selection of books. I wish they had more toys for older kids in their kid section, there are mainly baby toys. maybe a train table or more imaginary open ended toys for kids to play. Also I wish the children's librarian for Storytime was the guy who plays the guitar! He was lovely and so entertaining. The main librarian is good as well, but when he covered for her a few times we loved it. Maybe alternate between the two or include him in it. read more

While this place is well-stocked with good books and is an excellent public resource, it has some idiosyncratic policies that make no sense and only serve to irritate the public. One example that comes to mind is when the private security contracted by the library will scold you for not sitting "correctly" in the chairs if you choose to, say, sit with your legs on the armrests. If often feels like the security staff is there to enforce rules that are illogical but are in place to make the library seem more "proper". They don't really do anything useful and only make the library a more unpleasant place to be. read more

Was sad to see the 2nd most recent review before mine. That reviewer mentioned the folks with possible drug problems and mental health issues. That was written a year ago and since then one of those "regulars" attempted throwing pie at me and I have also more recently seen her act aggressively toward an elderly woman who was simply walking by. Granted I don't think there is a lot that the library staff or the police can do but it sure does put a damper on what would normally be a wonderful trip to this gorgeous library. I also don't feel safe bringing my children here now. Why did I rate the library so highly then? Because the staff are helpful and kind. The kids and I have spent many hours here before in the past decade and it's always a treasure chest of goodies. Their books sales are simply delightful and all these things outweigh the bad (which are out of their control for the most part any way). We are members and I encourage you to look into it as well. read more

My husband went to drop off a huge donation of DVD and books today. The lady that was at the front desk was not friendly and didn't even say thank you to him. If you are gonna donate to the libraries in Roseville I would recommend doing it at the one on Pleasant Grove. read more

This library is big and has a very good selection of books. Only issue is you have to return the books to this library or 4 other of their sister libraries because they are separate from The Sacramento and placer county public library systems. read more

May not be the largest selection of books, but comfortably open and the relatively uncrowded tot storytime with Mrs. Lisa is a hidden gem. I do see other reviews mention the presence of homeless individuals--definitely true but besides some mild discomfort for me as I drop books outside of operating hours (when they are hanging out outside) I have not found this to be an issue... in my experience these individuals use facility quietly like other patrons. Sorry to hear others have not experienced the same. A pleasure to have this as our neighborhood library. read more

Friendly here. I love coming to libraries... so peaceful to be able to go somewhere and pick up a book. It's super clean here, they have computers for personal use if needed and all you need is your library card. They have an amazing machine that checks your books in for you. Outside, it will print you a receipt to keep for your records. Love it! Will be back soon! read more

This is definitely a beautiful library has a great set up. The only downfall about this library is the homeless/druggies that come here and they stink up the place and they are super loud and get violent. Another thing I took note on was how most people act like this is a cafe and will talk loudly amongst each other. Never been to a library where it is so loud but, oh well ig. The high rating is for the awesome staff and security guard. Super friendly and helpful people! read more

Love this place... tons of parking space, staff are friendly, does not look like a library from outside. They have vending machines too if you get thirsty. Finding a table that has a socket to plug in your laptop is not difficult as there is so much space. read more

No parking, no parking, no parking. 3 spaces (if you want to stay longer than 15 minutes) doesn't count. I'm having to drive a massive truck at the moment so it wasn't really fun driving around the block for 20 minutes waiting for someone to move their car in a spot that was big enough a block away from the actual building. There's a perfectly good (and completely empty) parking lot to the back left side of the building, but it's for certain "businesses" that, annoyingly, don't even appear to be open/functioning at 10:15 on a weekday, so its wasted space. That said, the WiFi appears to be good and the building is small and intimate (which I love), but there are a bunch of loud-ish babies/kids-not to mention the loud lady singing to them-that would be really obnoxious if the conference room didn't happen to be free when I went there. It's pretty annoying that "song and reading time" can still be heard in the conference room, though, and if the room wasn't available, I wouldn't be able to concentrate if I had something important to work on. I could barely concentrate as it was, since that loud lady can be heard clearly in the conference room anyway. They should do that singing/reading/yelling activity in the conference room and let people who want to actually use the library for studying instead of a rec center be in the larger part of the building. Libraries used to be quiet places....I must be getting old cause this is BS. read more

Great for studying--the way it is designed, the separation walls and acoustics keep it quiet. The kiddie section can be full of rambunctious children and still you can study and read in quiet at one of the desks in the adjacent nooks and crannies. It is also VERY well air conditioned. Perhaps a little too well. I suppose impoverished people and elderly people in the less affluent Old Roseville neighborhood can come into the library and read or use the many computers as a way to beat the summer heat. read more

I've been going to this library ever since I started reading! Great place to study! The staff is very friendly and they have a wide selection of new books every week. You can also go on their website to see if theres any books available and put them on hold until you get there to pick it up. I've been to other libraries in the area and this one is the quietest! read more

Fantastic library! Friendly & helpful staff. Free wifi. Huge round building with lots of natural light. Bookshelves organized well and room to showcase interesting book- cover facing out. Clean bathrooms. Temperature nice & cool inside on a hot day. They have lots of events to appeal to all ages & interests. Super futuristic self checkout machines. The bookdrop is attached to a machine that checks materials in and sorts them. Computers & internet. There is a "MAC" computer lab, they give lessons on computer use. There is a Genealogy room to conduct research. read more

I have lots of great memories coming here are used to come here a lot for school field trip's and it was always fun to check out a new book I like coming here to go someplace quiet to read a good book or go on the computer I always find exactly what I'm looking for it's very nice plus you could have them fax over stuff for you if you need it done which is even better so you don't have to stop somewhere else it's a very great quiet library very clean atmosphere very friendly staff very clean establishment very clean parking lots lots of great books to read into choose from all Around a great visit altogether I will definitely be coming back here soon for more future visits and find more great books I look forward to the next visit here next time I am in Roseville definitely will come back here for sure the place to be if you want to read a book or go on a computer quietly definitely a good place to find that here very great library very great establishment very clean read more

I have been going to this library since before my yelping days. I get so excited to delve into the huge selection of books that I think I even forget to check-in. The outside of the building is circular and looks unlike any library I have seen. There is always a ton of parking. Everything inside is super clean and organized and has a super easy self-check system that is a breeze to use. There seems to be a lot of activities that go on here. There's the honor system used book section as well if you wish to donate or buy inexpensively. They change some of the displays for various days. The Memorial Day display had me in tears but was beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful and is quick to help and even tells you of the extra cool things you can do. read more

This is a great place to come and study if you're the type that needs to get away from home to do so. They have a room that's completely closed if you want absolute silence, but they have little rooms on the edges of the circular design that do an okay job as well. If you're thirsty, they have Coke and Powerades for $1, but no snacks. Wi-Fi is accessible and only requires a valid eMail address, but it can be really slow at times and I don't know how many Wireless Access Points (WAP) they have. The building itself is pretty unique as it's a circular style with a high ceiling as you approach the center of the building. read more

This is a good library. There are plenty of computers to use. The return machines are easy and convenient- no more having to tell them that you returned a book but it was not checked in- because you get a receipt that you turned it in. The DVDs are all over the place though. I am comparing this to the Sacramento libraries where they are all in drawers and can be flipped through without having to walk all over and bend over to see some. I really loved this library, it's small and quaint, and the librarians are wonderful; however they allow the local tweakers in to hang out, all day everyday. My first visit, I asked an individual to refrain from having phone sex on speakerphone because i didn't want to hear about the woman's "t*tties" and "p*ssy" anymore, and I was told "mind your business then you stupid f*****g c**t", and the second visit included a man eating a can of tuna with his index finger, at the computers. The amount of food debris on and around the computer is repulsive. The security guard is aloof, and careless, and seemingly afraid to address any conflict. He never even addressed the individual cursing me out and having phone sex- mind you, around numerous elderly people. Individuals walk around the library while making cell phone calls and shouting, and I found a can of Dinty Moore on a shelf with drug baggies stuffed inside. The security guard didn't make any move to help me or protect me from the explicit and aggressive patron having phone sex, nor did he address the individual eating tuna (who subsequently called me a "f*****g ugly b***h", nor did he care that there was food garbage and baggies with residual white powder within eye/reach level of a child. Never in my life have I been so appalled at the etiquette and complete disregard for people coming to read and not just waste the day on the free internet and electricity. I highly recommend going elsewhere if you actually enjoy a classic library. read more

Super good library. Nice books, good computers and good toys for kids. All except when it's closed. Just yesterday I almost had to call a staff to be let in after the library closed plus out of order turn in slot. Little bad though that's why I gave it only four stars. Other stuff pretty good. read more
