We were glad that we found it and had spent enough time exploring it without rushing. The rooftop is a great place to overlook the Petaluma River. The view here is truly stunning. I took a lot of amazing pictures and videos. I highly recommend the Refill Mercantile shop as well. It sells gifts, personal, and refillable skincare products. Particularly, the toothpaste tablets are my favorite. It is just next to the famous Wild Goat bistro restaurant. Unfortunately, we found out about this popular place after we had our lunch. All in all, whether you're a first-time visitor or think you have seen it all, it's a fun and entertaining way to discover this historic landmark city!

However, we do have some concerns that make our visits a bit challenging. Parking is consistently a hassle, and we've noticed an increasing presence of homeless individuals both around and directly in front of the library, which can be uncomfortable. This became particularly troubling recently when a homeless individual on a bike nearly hit my 6-year-old daughter and then attempted to kick her. While we understand the library can't control what happens outside its doors, and we often see security personnel, it's disheartening that these issues persist. My children have even started referring to it as 'the homeless library,' which is sad given how much we value what it offers. We genuinely hope to see some improvements in the future, as we truly enjoy coming here.

The library is quite large with a wide selection materials and several different study areas. The main drawbacks were the parking and overall cleanliness. There is no dedicated parking lot so most people will need to find paid street parking or use a paid parking garage. I also noticed that some areas felt unclean, with strong odors in certain parts of the library and an unkept bathroom. There were also many homeless individuals sheltering inside or gathered outside, which may make some visitors uncomfortable.

I went in and started looking at the books and all that they have to offer. It's quite expensive. They also have video games and movies and CDs for checking out for up to three weeks and even then you can renew the book or city or video game and the best part is there are no late fees this would have been great when I was a kid. I always loved reading and re-reading my books and ended up having to pay late fees which my parents were not too happy about, but anyway, that has changed now, which is great at the entrance. There are books up for sale as well as puzzles and movies and all for no more than three dollars from what I saw. I did end up buying some puzzles because I love puzzles. Can't get enough of them the receptionist at the front desk was so nice and helped me get my library card. I continue to browse and ended up checking out three books and three video games for my Nintendo switch. I can't wait to go back and look further into what they have to offer. Go check them out.

Just got back from this event today. One word: Outstanding!!! Jenny K. is absolutely, positively…read morecorrect. This is the greatest deal in the kingdom for great wine tasting for only $10. You just pay $10 a person, get a wristband and wine glass, and off you go to over 100 wineries. Well, we made five of them today, and it was a truly a memorable time. Not only is there barrel tasting which may or may not be good, all the wineries are pouring their regular wines. You can talk to the owners and winemakers about the futures, how the '05 year is shaping up, and gets anwers to anything you need to know about the wine making process. It is wine hedonism at its best. And, all the wineries we stopped at had some type of food and snack items. Bottled water is free at all wineries. So, we DID have a designated driver today, and went for it with all the gusto we could. Very nice weather day, and the time went by quick. Our stops (hope I can remember them all): Russian River Area 1. Martinelli Killer zins and other wines are great also. The barrel tasting was their top of the line Giuseppe and Louisa Zin. It was the '06 and will be released in Nov. It tasted good to me today, although a little sediment remained. Headed over to the wine tasting bar, and had the real '05 Giuseppe and Louisa. Robert Parker gave it 94 points, and when you taste it you will see why. Rich, dark, deep flavors, with fantastic finish. Food was lasagna, bread, cookies and chips. 2. Sunce I just love this little Croatian owner winery. He does a super job and makes about 15 reds and 4 whites plus late harvest dessert wine. The ones we really liked were the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Light, crisp and refreshing and the price is less than $15 a bottle. One of the best buys in the Valley. We settled on the future zin, a rich bold wine with great potential When you buy futures on it you get it for 1/2 price. Paid $15 a bottle, and will sell for $30 a bottle in November. Food here was great. They had bbq ribs, mashed potatoes, bread and a salad. All free with many free bottles of water. We stayed a bit here and talked with the wine maker. Hey, was time to move on and off we drove to Healdsburg. Dry Creek Valley 1. Mauritson - The pinnacle in my opinion for great zin. The Rockpile zin was simply fabulous as always. Very special appellation area that the Mauritson family owns. Saw Clay the owner/winemaker and his cute and darling wife, Carrie. They both are so nice as well as their staff. Food was cookies, some pizza bread, and soup. Nice! 2. Bella Great place that we spend a lot of time at. They had Bluegrass band playing inside the cave. It was a riot. Great music. Food was to die for from the Zin Restaurant in town. The chef had pulled pork which he put in a cup over homemade grits. Let's see how many helpings did I have? Hmmm.. Can't remember. It was just fabulous. Barrel tasting of the Lily zin and a syrah, but I was in no pain by then. Regular zin and syrah were good also. We sat on the chair in the nice open area, admired the beautiful Dry Creek Valley and watched the vines grow in the nice sun. A quintessential California wine country setting for sure. 3. Dutcher Crossing Ok, Dr. M, the resident Yelp wine expert told me I better go there. I did. I liked. The Zin just won the SF Chronicle Gold Medal Award. It was tasty and deserved. The Chardonnay was super and a throw back a little for the buttery/oakey finish. Very nice. Hell, I joined there Club after sweet Sindy, the owner's wife told me members get invited to release parties and she home cooks the food. Yippeee!. The food here was good also. They had a mushroom bisque, Pt. Reyes cheese with fig jam, bread, chips, almonds, and whatever. The setting in the back is really pretty overlooking the vineyards and the valley with the mustard now growing between all the vine rows. That did it. No mas!! We (the drinkers and food eaters) jumped in the SUV, fell back, and were feeling no pain. We asked Robert to drive us back to San Jose, which of course, none of us remember. What a day and what an experience all for only $10. Here is the good news, they are repeating next weekend. Check out the website. Have fun, get a designated driver, and have a Roman type drinking and eating day. Man, I am going to bed now, I am just plain worn out from all this fun! Note to myself: take some Alka Seltzer! Give these people your money!…read more Seriously, the events this group throws are the best events ever. I've been to the Food and Wine Affair twice now. And I just got back from the Winter Wineland event. I cannot say enough good things. These events are well organized, a great value and thus far not completely insane with crowds. This Sunday, for $40 (because I failed to buy in advance, which would have saved me $10), I was granted access to 123 wineries in the Healdsburg area. Granted, I only made it to like 8 or 9 before I was down for the count, but what a good time. So yes, check out the website and see if any events are coming up. And if one piques your interest, then gather some friends and go for it. Napa is for snobs. Healdsburg is for lovers. Or something like that.

what a great juvey!…read more i've been here twice, but the first time was only for a few days so i didn't get to really enjoy my stay. the second time though, i was here for almost 2 months. the details of my incarceration isn't as important as the date, december 23 1997. 2 friggin days before xmas i get arrested. stay off the drugs kids! so in juvey you first get processed. they take your clothes, itemize your belongings, and stick you in a glass box for a half a day. for me they made me take out all my piercings, which was horrible since they didn't have any of the proper tools. then you get moved into one of the many halls. each hall has 20-30 kids each. i was one of two white kids in my hall. but that worked out to my advantage. i was only 17 but had completed high school. so during the day all the other kids would be in "school" and i would just hang out by myself and read. i read so much i read literally every book that was there. the staff flat out loved me. i was nice, polite, and never started shit. after my first few weeks there, i had a radio in my room, a game boy, got to shower first by myself, first dibs on new clothes and some of the night crew would let me out to watch tv with them. the best/worst part was the food. i came into juvey pretty strung out and hadn't really been eating. then in juvey i got 3 meals a day! i was so happy. but the food was so bad i had to salt and pepper everything. that ultimately led to a serious multi year long salt addiction. on xmas night, some church ladies came and gave us presents and a turkey dinner. i got a gift card to a store in the local mall. i had to wait for the following year to use it, ha! after my two month stay, the courts ordered me to a 12-18 month long residential drug treatment program. it was either that or face a felony drug charge. so i did the rehab. so if you're a kid, please, please fuck up as much as possible BEFORE you're 18. juvey is a walk in the park. once you're 18 you're pretty effed in the A.

The technology of electronic devices makes everything ten times more complicated . I used a very nice young Librarian who had to guide me through some challenging situations. Even she didn't understand why certain ways were not working. In the end we got through it. Eight dollars later everything was done. I ended up getting a new library card. This venture took both women at the help desk to get a ton of copies made. It did cost less at the library than through UPS. That can get costly. The Library staff was extremely professional and patient with me and my friend who are very technologically challenged.

Easy parking, quiet library with the perks of book sales, art shows and special exhibits to be seen when I walk in. The staff there are also cheery and helpful. The Healdsburg library is a small library with a big selection. When I want something, I just order it online and if it's in any of the Sonoma County libraries, it will show up in a few days in Healdsburg. They send me email when the item is available. The Healdsburg library also has a "Wine Library" where one can read books on all aspects of the wine vocation. There are many old books on the subject. The children's section is right by the book check out desk. I like seeing the children reading books or having a book read to them - and it's right by the checkout desk so they are being watched over all the time by patrons and library staff. The children always seemed well behaved; quietly talking or fidgeting in their chairs as they enjoy their books. Some big city libraries are creepy with people sleeping in chairs, learing around corners or aimlessly walking around. I've never seen anything like that in Healdsburg. I like that the library is close to Casa Del Mole so I can have lunch and purchase groceries if I need them when I visit the library. Did I mention the staff are helpful and friendly? They always greet me as if they are glad to see me... and I think they are!
