Captain Max is the man if you want to catch fish. He guarantees fish! Put me on a 38" snook.

My water taxi experience was almost a disaster, but our evening turned out pretty darn fun in the…read moreend. The tickets felt a little expensive at $36 per person given the brevity of the experience and the infrequency of the pickups and dropoffs. We rode the river route up to Armature/Ulele, and the tour was an entertaining (albeit short) 15 minute ride. We ended up exploring the fantastic river walk down to the gorgeous U of Tampa campus before catching a returning taxi about an hour later. During one of the dockings, there was an unfortunate incident that almost tanked the evening. Something went awry, and the fire hose next to me started spraying at a high volume. I ended up soaking wet from head to toe on a cool winter evening. The captain and staff were apologetic, and I ended up with a couple of beers on the house, so we went ahead with the longer Island loop route. This trip was a pleasant cruise. It's a lot longer than the river route, but there are not a ton of points of interest (mainly some mansions and heavy industrial areas). The vibes were good - what's not to like about a cruising on the water with a cold drink and an entertaining tour guide. Ultimately, my sons ended up enjoying the water taxi and telling me it was a highlight of our trip. We loved the Armature and Ulele stop and ended up going back there for dinner and dessert. I didn't love the price and the incident that happened on board, but this was a good experience overall.

It is $35 plus tax etc for all you can drink (alcohol/wine) boat ride for about an hr and a half. If you don't drink alcohol you can get all you can drink non alcoholic beverages as well. We arrived early and they started boarding on time. There were a few other ppl on our boat but it was not too crowded at all. I was afraid it was going to be a kiddie type with of event with the pirate theme but actually the kids were all on the lower deck being entertained by the workers. Most of the adults were on the top deck doing our own thing. The drinks were good! The bartender was friendly, as well as all of the other staff. Out of all the activities I did that weekend with my family this was by far my favorite. The ride was relaxing. The vibes were chill and they even had some music and had us join in the cha cha slide. We watched the sun go down and took pics. The weather was perfect that time of night and the views were phenomenal. I would definitely go on this exact boat ride again. I'm glad I chose this for my birthday. It is really a great value boat ride for the whole family to enjoy!

Give yourself plenty of time to a.) find parking in downtown Tampa and b.) find this boat's dock…read more Both of those took me forever. When I located the dock, I was maybe the 5th or 6th person there and none of us were really sure we were in the right place (maybe put a sign up?). Unfortunately, due to the captain not making any announcement as to what tour or company he was with, I was the last person on the boat and got stuck sitting in the roasting sun with no canopy. I spent most of the tour with my purse and tote bag over my arms trying to avoid a sunburn. The captain was informative when we got going, and I appreciated the offer of free water to everyone on board (you don't want anyone passing out). Lots of info about Native American and early settler history, and the buildings on the skyline. We saw the Gasparilla pirate ship, the actual war ship American Victory, the hotel turned college built by Henry B. Plant, the Tampa Riverwalk, and celebrity homes like Derek Jeter's place the size of a department store. Despite the heat, it was great to be out on the water and in fresh air. I hope the tour company will consider telling patrons that they may end up in direct sunlight for 1.5 hours and to dress for that possibility. I'm sure that seems obvious to some, but I assumed there would be an awning.

I won't go into details and bore you, but I called them the first time to simply ask a question, a guy with a deep voice answered aaaand I will say he was a huge, complete A-hole. I wound up hanging up. The next day I got a missed call from them, no voicemail, I called back about 2 minutes later and said I had a missed call from this number, it was the same guy. When I told him I just got a call from the number he had a long pause then just said "uuihhhhh NO", and was rude. I said yes, I did. He mumbled something. Obviously I hung up. This guy is just answering the phones and he is simply ridiculously rude for no reason. Needless to say we aren't going to use the water taxi most likely simply due to this guy. Why? Because if there was any issue my guess is you'd have to deal with this guy. No thanks.

They were very speedy cleaning up from the guests that just finished their charter and let us on a little early. Plenty of space for our group of 4 adults, definitely room for more. Loved that they had some snacks and drinks provided - such a nice touch, though we did bring our own since it was a birthday celebration. The cruise itself was great, gave us options of how we wanted it to go, and let us out to swim for a little. The wind wasn't in our favor so no full sailing BUT the weather was great and we were still plenty happy cruising on the water - even got a little extra time on the end. They were honestly great overall, checking in on us during the cruise from time to time while also just letting us be to enjoy ourselves. Highly recommend and would book again!

Jonas and Greg were the most hospitable hosts that made us a beautiful charcuterie tray for 6 people. Fresh cheeses, meats and fruits. They offered wine but but we decided we didn't need to drink. The ride to the Skyway Bridge was beautiful and the water and weather were all working in our favor. It was a relaxing ride and we saw a couple of pods of Dolphins. We felt we could reach out and touch them. As we got to the skyway and turned towards shore, the captain asked if we would like to sail, which we did for a while. It was spectacular. The catamaran was beautiful, clean, comfy and cozy. We were briefed on where to find the lifejackets and there was a small raft on the aft. I cannot say enough about this truly wonderful crew and Boat "Sweet Escape ". I highly recommend and will use them again! Thank you guys for a truly amazing time. My family was blown away.
