Answered questions about diet as well as some separation anxiety. He had a reaction to his vaccine and they were able to help the next day with an anti nausea med that really helped him recover much quicker. I feel great knowing that experienced vets and staff are available for all his doggo needs.

Checking in went good and they got us back after a minute or two, the exam itself is what was terrible. The Vet tech was pretty quick and good about handling her but seemed to wanna argue about our kittens age. They said she seems younger when we told them she's 8 weeks and we know this because the original owner posted pictures the day of the kittens birth. Once the vet tech went back you could hear them talking behind the door and were discussing the kittens age again like we're lying about it. The Veterinarian comes in and she acted the same about her age until she did the exam. We come to find out she has a flat chest, a hernia, might have heart problems, possible lung problems, and stressed that she might not even make it to adulthood or if she does then it might not be long. Keep in mind this is just a physical exam with no real test so this is all just a guess based on a physical. The Veterinarian didn't seem very interested in answering our questions about how the kittens long term health might go and once we got quiet just thinking about what to do she made an excuse to leave and end the exam. Once she goes back we hear her talk to the vet tech again and how she's very worried about our kitten which was extremely rude especially behind our backs when we're right there. The Vet tech comes in to discuss if we want the kitten care plan so he gets the price and tells us it's 127$ which is crazy. We have an adult cat who was only 60$ for his at VCA Beech Grove and my mothers cat which is one years old who she pays about 40$ for. Overall it was a terrible experience and it's safe to say we'll never return here if possible. I highly recommend VCA Beech Grove over this once cause they've given out phenomenal care every time I've gone. The only reason we went to Swengel is because they're the only ones who had an appointment for same day and Beech Grove was booked until the 15th which now makes sense after our experience.

We brought our cat to Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care after she may have swallowed a shoelace. We…read morespecifically asked if an X-ray should be done, but were advised against it and sent home to "monitor" her instead. Unfortunately, she had swallowed the shoelace. A few days later, another clinic performed imaging that immediately confirmed the ingestion and led to emergency surgery. When I contacted Animal Urgent Care to discuss what happened and request reimbursement, the veterinarian refused to compensate us and insisted the other clinic was in the wrong. He claimed the shoelace wouldn't have shown up on an X-ray and defended the decision not to perform imaging, even though the second vet identified the problem right away and confirmed it was visible. What's most disappointing is not just the initial misjudgment, but the refusal to take accountability afterward. We were only trying to make sure our pet was safe, not avoid costs, and instead ended up with unnecessary suffering, over $1,500 in added expenses(not including the surgery cost), and a surgery that could have been avoided. I would strongly caution others to seek care elsewhere if they want thorough, responsible, and compassionate treatment.
