I decided to forego with a couple of treatments the day after the consultation. I reached out through WhatsApp to make the appointment, that's where I've been communicating with them anyhow. Didn't hear back from anyone until a few days later. And even then the responses were sporadic and nothing could get verified or confirmed. It was just so frustrating. Like what the eff?! Am I not important enough? I'm sorry but everyone at the lobby or waiting area didn't look "special" or artistahin or alta sosyal either. I'm not either one of those but I don't look like a "basura" either. It's been almost a week and I still don't have a confirmed appointment. I'm going back to the states soon. And I've lost my mojo with Aivee. So I'll just take my money elsewhere.

They gave me a list of treatments to fix my face and I was falsely marketed into natural 'collagen banking' through ultherapy prime and 'conservative' botox treatment.. that has completely melted my face, made my face fall inwards, my youth was eradicated in one appointment. I could not smile for 3 months, I have aged 10 years and this has caused severe psychiatric damage that has impacted my life and my will to live. This place is the devils work. I would give it minus stars if possible and wish to warn everyone . Beauty marketing is predatory, it doesn't matter if the are celebs that go here or that they are a high end clinic, please remember this is all just effective marketing so you can pay your hard earned money for them to take advantage of you and leave you to deal with the consequences. If anything goes wrong they will not take accountability and instead blame 'the weather'. There is NO aftercare. Any doctor 'help' that is spewed is Chatgpt nonsense . Please please please for the love of your life avoid at all costs. I am clinging onto my own by a thread because of Aivee. PLEASE AVOID.

My use of the word "like" to describe a hospital is remarkable in itself, because generally I cannot say that I like hospitals. I mean, who does? But, I had my first-hand experience being confined here last year when I came down with dengue. I got myself a double room. It's cheaper because it's meant for sharing, but it's roomier than a single room, and I requested that they put me in one that's unoccupied, so it still feels like I have the room all to myself. Unfortunately, I got myself a roommate the day after because there was an inexplicable surge in dengue cases that day. Good thing my roomie found a room the following day, because a day later, my brother would join me. I needed transfusion, and in this hospital, if you can provide enough qualified donors, you won't be charged for the blood anymore, whereas other hospitals would charge you for the sourcing of the donors plus the processing of the blood (extraction of the platelet). Also, the food is not bad. In fact, the food is quite edible. They even give you your own personal utensils. I found out that MCM recently transferred ownership and was undergoing renovations, which explained the nicer facade and new wing. It's a given that hospitals are unpleasant places, but MCM is definitely one of my choices for good medical care for its patients.

My sister is gorgeous but the skin on her face is so acne-prone that she needed to visit the dermatologists when she started breaking out. Thankfully, I managed to inherit my mother's genes when it comes to skin. I rarely ever get pimples and when I do, I either prick them on my own (which, of course, isn't advisable but I do it anyway) or, if the acne problem looks quite severe, I take it to Dra. Gatan for a check-up. While I had less time going to her for my acne problems, I realized that the few times I did, I always felt taken good care of. From her receptionists to her nurses to Dra. Gatan herself, I have always felt secured whenever I visit. The same goes for my sister. I mean, she's been going to Dra. Gatan since she was 16 and they've gotten so close that she even took Dra. Gatan as one of her godmothers during her wedding. What I also love about Dra. Gatan is how meticulous she is with her patients. But that doesn't go to say that she prescribes creams, soaps or medicines that are ridiculously pricey. In fact, she either tells you to use whatever good brands are in the market or buy her own stuff! Dra. Gatan's line of creams, which I use as my night moisturizer, is actually cheaper than other leading brands. She also has a wonderful sunblock cream that my sister and I swear by. So if you're looking for an alternative to the Belos and the Calayans of the dermatology world in the Philippines, I think Dra. Edna Gatan is one of the best. She's never failed me, my sister or any of the people I've recommended!

All the three big companies that I eventually worked for asked for a medical certificate from my old cardiologist and they all imposed certain disclaimers on my employee insurance benefits. Now that I'm older and running my own business, I have no need for medical certificates, besides my old cardiologist had since passed away. However, as I approach my middle age years, I need constant medical monitoring, especially in the matters of my cardiovascular health. In my search for a new cardiologist, I was led to Dr. Andrea Orel Valle. She's an Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist. Essentially, she's a heart doctor for babies and kids. So why is she attending to an old patient like me? Well, that's because I have a congenital heart defect, meaning I have it since birth. A product of the University of the Philippines Intarmed Program, Doc Wawi, as she is fondly called by patients and friends, is a smart young cardiologist. That's why her patients -- including me -- find her cool and very relaxed. She has none of that typically boring clinical semantics when talking to people. But don't let her young looks fool you, she has the real-world experience and international qualifications to boot. Doc Wawi's main clinic is at Room 205 of the Faculty Medical Arts Building (FMAB) in UP-PGH. She's there from Tuesdays to Thursdays at 10:00am until 12:00 noon. Then, also on Saturdays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
