She couldn't care less about my serious bilateral ear infection symptoms, nasal sores, reoccuring low-grade fever, ... which had all been going on off and on since our first doctor's visit together a year or more ago. Refused to acknowledge a possibility of environmental involvement. I live far away and it is extremely difficult for me to physically come in person. Especially since they insist on torturing me with hot exam rooms that deteriorate me and make me sick and difficult to drive back home. Because of the temperature issues, I struggled tremendously coming in, in person. She refused to take a sample of the liquid oozing from my worse off left ear, to test, and see what was going on. She told me to see my ENT, after the ENT I had already been referred to and had already seen, sent me back to Dr. Melgar. I will be reviewing that Doctor very soon too. All the ENT cared about was getting me in for as many visits as she possibly could stringing me along taking advantage of my forgetfulness and not addressing everything I came there for. All she cares about is surgeries she does not care about maintaining Medi-Cal patient ENT health. BOTH WASTED MY PHYSICAL VISITS, STRENGTH, ENERGY, AND TIME. BOTH were obviously trying to purposely pushed me into some sort of mental break. It's a game to them guys!! They do not care because they get paid regardless. Unless it's just me that's being targeted? Dr. Melgar and another PCP her at the Mission Beach Clinic also refused to fill out my medical SDG&E form, to help with my medical A/C cold temp control REQUIREMENT and others. Even though it had already been filled out once before by my previous PCP at a different clinic, years ago. I simply needed an updated form, because we had moved into a new home, and I needed to add new health changes and requirements. My condition is degenerative, lifelong, terminal, so I won't be getting better. If your PCP also refuses to fill out your legitimate needed paperwork you're needing to help yourself, please contact me privately. We are more powerful if we stand together. The provider who saw my son explained that he was an ER doctor, it was his first day, and that he was not a pediatrician, so we would need to schedule a follow-up appointment. This was not a same day appointment....this was a scheduled appointment that we waited for and I took off work and pulled him out of school (costing us money we do not have). Why we were seen by someone who couldn't even perform this task, I do not know. We scheduled that follow-up before leaving and they even called to confirm it with me the next day. Today, I left work early (again, costing us money) to bring my son in, only to be told by the front desk that the appointment had been canceled one minute after it was originally entered into the system. If that's true, how was I able to confirm it the following day? At every step, it felt like there was little to no respect for our time. I rarely leave negative reviews (In fact, my only negative review), but this experience was so disorganized and frustrating that I feel others should be aware. I expressed how important and urgent it was, but their soonest wasn't for a month out. I was dismissed immediately and just given a "sorry we don't accept fax or email, that's our soonest, nothing we can do for you". So I waited a month, only for it to be canceled the day of with no notice because the doctor called out. I desperately asked if there was anything they could do, allow a fax or email this one time, put me with another doctor, any sort of way they could help. Despite explaining how urgent this was for my military orders and that I only needed a signature for the exam they ALREADY COMPLETED. They refused to help, wouldn't allow another doctor to sign, in a dismissive tone saying I should "schedule an appointment and bring my papers next time when I do". Clearly, that's what I was there for, your useless comment wasn't needed or helpful. When I went to Optum Care Network's San Diego Sports Medicine's Urgent Care clinic for treatment, I was subjected to multiple iterations of ineffective treatment plans and was verbally harassed when I attempted to get assistance for obtaining a CA DMV Disabled Person Placard. More specifically, the only thing offered by Monica (the Office Manager) was an abundance of vindictive rhetoric couched in audacity, ignorance and false accusations. It was abundantly clear from her delusional behavior that Monica believes that patients exist to serve and support the needs of clinic staff and not the other way around. Instead of hiding patient issues requiring escalations that need to be properly addressed by those in charge of the Medical Group, one should expect that the true SDPMG leadership team would want to properly investigate and make quality improvements to service levels in order to properly resolve such matters. Regrettably, my experience was that the Medical Group leadership allegedly hide in anonymity and enable their incompetent subordinates to make unqualified decisions. This type of behavior may imply that this medical practice is all about making profits at patient's expense and not about patient satisfaction and service level quality.

I was not there for treatment of my autoimmune condition--I already had a neurologist managing that. I came specifically for help with mold illness, yet nearly every symptom I reported was attributed to my autoimmune disease while my mold concerns were never addressed. At the time, I was incredibly sick and so desperate to feel better, so I was willing to try almost anything that gave me hope. Because of that, it didn't take much for me to agree to finance treatment. I deeply regret that decision. My initial consultation was with Dr. Willis, but after that I never saw him again. Every subsequent appointment I had was with other staff members, such as a nutritionist. I later learned that Dr Willis was a chiropractor rather than a functional medicine physician, and there was no physician involved in my care who could prescribe medications. Most appointments were phone calls that consisted of me crying and being told to give the 'treatment' more time while my health continued to decline significantly. I also experienced repeated problems with my 'medical records' and the administrative side of my care, including errors in medical documentation and billing. In my experience, the entire process was disorganized and added to an already overwhelming situation. After months of treatment, I had accumulated a large loan while my condition continued to worsen. Ironically, I am now doing significantly better under the care of a physician who actually specializes in mold-related illness and toxicity. This experience left me feeling devastated and taken advantage of. This is my personal experience, and I hope others carefully research who will be treating them, understand their credentials and scope of practice, and think carefully before making a significant financial commitment before signing anything.
