Adding this recent EDIT: This AWFUL PRICK & PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A DR., ran Blood Tests that he didn't even bother to check if my Insurance covered, after I specifically told him, "do NOT run ANY Tests that aren't covered." The woman in the back who took my blood told me "He's known for running Tests that aren't covered, so make sure you tell him to not do that." That's indeed what I did, & still got f*cked. Now, trying to get these outrages Lab Tests "handled" and "dismissed" is an even bigger JOKE. Dealing with the incompetent Front Staff: Laura & specifically, DEBBIE (Office Mgr- Ha!)- is a nightmare. They are awful, AWFUL to deal with. It's as if they don't care and don't know what they're doing. Someone else I'm working w/at the actual Lab, had the AUDACITY to say to me: "It's not his responsibility to know what Tests are covered by your Insurance." WHAT? Is this real? Is this really happening? Are you f*cking kidding me? YES, it is a Dr.'s RESPONSIBILITY to know what is covered and what isn't (ESPECIALLY if a Patient goes out of her way to state it!) Hello? It's called Laziness, lack of effort & inconsiderate nonsense. I truly hope Karma visits all incompetent people that are involved in this BS. You would think in today's day & age, with Internet Reviews, Doctors & their Staff would bring their A game, Not Dr. Belfiore in Merrick, NY or his Front Desk Staff. What a HORRIBLE experience. I've been here twice, too many. He runs VERY LATE. Plan on serious waiting time in this Office. He's ALWAYS late, from what I hear. You can make a 1st Morning Appointment (9AM), but he doesn't stroll in until 10. He has some nerve making his Patients wait, sometimes OVER 2 to 3 hours, just to be let in the 2nd little waiting room & wait some more -(One room doesn't even have a regular Patient Seat, it's like a makeshift joke of a bench/bed with a unsanitary sheet & a pillow on it - very uncomfortable) Dear Lord. What, is his time more important than ours? Absolutely despicable. He hardly makes eye contact. The Front Desk Staff is a JOKE too. I asked for a prescription to be Faxed to my Mail Away Delivery Service, & DEBBIE said: "Oh, the Patient is supposed to do that" What? Is she kidding? Are you effing kidding me Lady? That's right. Keep sitting on your A**, doing nothing, gabbing away, looking at Lunch Menus. Delusional Joke is what she is. Clearly they had no Training, period. The waiting room is ICE Cold. I mean freezing. I had to ask to shut the Door that leads out to the Lobby. Hello? Do you have a Brain? You think they would consider how the Patients feel. They don't seem like they care AT ALL. Oh, and they let a Concierge Patient go in right before me, even though I had been waiting over an Hour & 1/2 - They pay a hefty $Fee to just walk in whenever they want & SCREW anyone who's been waiting. I swear, People with Money think they can do anything they want & they usually do. They make me sick & the Doctor that takes their Money is a disgusting individual, in my eyes. How incredibly inconsiderate and selfish. How can you live with yourself. Don't you want your Patient's to like you? to be happy with your Services? To have a good experience in your Office? What a Joke you are Dr. Belfiore. Oh, and one of the Medical Assistants is just as disgusted with him & the Front Staff. She talked badly about the Dr. & the Front Staff to me! to Jane D. of long island ...dated 12/19/2013 I read you review and you must have been confusing who you are with who dr. belfiore is as i have been his patient for over 15 years and have never heard of what you allege was your experience.. YOU MUST BE THE AWFUL PRICK & PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A PATIENT and you are blaming a great md for you being a failure in taking care of your own health and doing what is YOUR RESPONSIBLITY to get it. I have extensive blood work every 3 months plus whatever test are necessary when some other medical issue comes up. dr. belfiore has suggested certain tests but has advised that i check with my insurance to make sure they cover it and I did. YOUR ATTITUDE IS A THE REFLECTION OF A PERSON WHO THINKS EVERYIONE OWES THEM... WAKE UP..NO ONE OWES YOU ANYTHING !!! It is not any doctors responsibility to know which insurance company covers / affords coverage for a sp-ecfific test as each insurance company is differenet as is each health insurance plan is & coverage changes are made all the time. each insurance company offers different plans and depending on your specific plan, you may or may not have coverage. the old saying is you get what you pay for. i am a licensed insurance broker so i am awaire of these facts. i have clients that call & ask if different things would be covered. are you to lazy to ask or are the you the simple person that is spoken of at a passover sedear?? the person that hath not the capacity to ask a questons???? Dr. Belfiore is such a good and caring doctor and knows what he is talking about. to all of you that are writing negative things about dr. b and saying he's getting what he deserves . you are probably not even his patients and have no purpose in your life to make misery for others and get your kicks that way. i have been dr. b's patient over 15 years from even before he had his owe practice. he has taken such good care of me that other doctors i show the blood work he does on me are impressed. my answer is he does such extensive blood work because of my medical issues & he's trying his best to keep me as healthy as he can. he is an advocate for his patients and looks outside of western medicine to help his patients, hoping natural medicine might do the trick combined with the western medicine. yes he does order a lot of blood tests, but he doesn't order what he doesn't feel you need. he has told me to contact my health insurance carrier to see if they cover certain tests, but he has never ordered a diagnostic or blood test that my insurance company didn't pay for. i am very fortunate to have dr.b in my corner and have even contacted my health insurance carrier for an expection for him to remain my md. he has been with me through alot of medical issues and considers all of them when taking care of me, as well as consulting with my other medical providers. again, to you of you that are writing negative things about dr. michael belfiore, go get a life and stop trashing the name and reputation of a great doctor and human being. if you put your real name and faces on this page, i wonder what others would have to say about you....probabily they'd trash you.. stop!!!!!! treat others as you would want to be treated... vicki g read more

No bad rap here AT ALL! If I could give none I would! This man is nothing more than a drug dealer with a Doctor's license. Sad excuse for a Dr. I have been waiting for him to be arrested for so long and seeing him on the news being arrested for being the POS he is made me and my family so happy! The allegations are most certainly true! Dr. B would charge patients $400.+ cash for Oxy scripts for which they would be able to get a ridiculous amount of pills and bill the Insurance for ridiculous tests. My brothers, both addicts who LOVED Dr. B, because he will give you ANYTHING you want! This is not a doctor! By the way one of those brothers is now deceased due to his addiction. No, It's not Dr. B's fault but he most certainly contributed to his death. I know a woman who comes all the way from Connecticut to see Dr. B just to get her "scripts" I hope he rots in jail. read more

I have suffered from ill health ever since I got cancer, and Dr B is the reason I am well today! This man is SO kind, so caring, and he spends time with you. He sits and listens carefully to every detail. He does alot of lab work, but he ran different tests, and knows how to read the tests and got my body up and running again. I have gone to doctors all over the east coast, including some very famous doctors in the City, and not ONE could help me or get me feeling better. Dr. B is a stand out, I am so grateful to have. I think its horrible about the allegations, and there is no way those are true knowing Dr. B for over 10 yrs!! If you suffer with health problems, go see him. Think for yourself, and I am certain, you will learn more than you ever knew about your health and the proof is in the pudding! you will feel better and your health will improve! read more

STAY AWAY! Not only is Dr. Belfiore a HORRIBLE JOKE OF A DR., who runs Tests that aren't necessary, that you WILL get billed for, he makes you wait for hours and hours on end. He is always late & I mean LATE. The Front Staff (Laura & particularly DEBBIE - the Office Manager" - Ha!) are RUDE, UNHELPFUL & INCOMPETENT beyond comprehension. He's one of the most caring, compassionate and intelligent doctors I've ever had the pleasure to be treated by. Thanks to Dr. B I was able to track my everyday feelings of sluggishness back to a Thyroid condition no other doctor was able to pinpoint before. Although he's had a rather tough year, he hasn't failed to give his full attention to what matters most to him; his patients. I am 64 years old and have been to many Doctors in my life. He has been my Doctor for the last 4 years. I consider him to be the most knowledgeable. He has taken the time to explain all medical information. On testing results he has reviewed each line by line for possible problems. If all Doctors were like him, then the medical field would be a better place. He is the BEST. read more
