Even on the walk in basis for weekly shots. Dr. Kaplan TRULY cares about his patients well being. And, ok this is a little thing but... unlike most offices, they even have a total array of current magazines to read while waiting the 30 min necessary post allergy shot. I went in for a few simple blood tests which I specifically requested. Dr. Tom Klein convinced me to get my cholesterol tested as well. Sure, why not, I said. When the results came in, he wanted to see me and would not give me the results over the phone. I was worried so I asked to pick up a copy that day. He had forgotten to ask for the tests I had requested! Ok, maybe that's forgiveable. But when I called and asked about it, he was rude and short with me. He fed me some line that he didn't want to give me the results because I might skip out without payment. This is despite having my insurance information and my employer name. Not a very trusting or caring physician and a bad sign since I was a new patient. To cap it off, he hung up on me. Still, I just wanted blood tests and didn't want to go through the hassle of finding another doctor. After a second blood draw and reiterating exactly which tests I wanted, this staff failed AGAIN to get the correct tests done. On top of this, I could not get a straight answer on my bill at all. They are billing me for an amount that they did not submit to my insurance company but cannot explain why they did not submit it or what it is a charge for. I also received bills for the lab tests despite the need for the second test being due to their incompetence. I called no less than five times trying to get in touch with the office manager. After being told she'd call me back each time, they finally told me she's on vacation for two weeks. The desk staff was completely unable to answer any questions and occasionally rude as well. The facility is very nice - caged birds, fish tank, cool wire sculptures suspended in the lobby, and a general spa vibe. There are unfortunately a number of clown artworks, though. In my opinion, one of those is too many. Good decor cannot make up for abysmal service. I highly recommend you find another doctor; I would not trust this business with my health.

My apparently was today 2-2-26 at 2pm. Apparently they open at 9 am and I get a call at 10:30 saying there is no doctor there that day (yet when I scheduled that day there was in fact a doctor going to be there) so you are telling me you don't know that your doctor isn't going to be there until the day of? Seems pretty lacking in organization to me. And quite ridiculous that they didn't replace the doctor and expect me to change my appointment time that I've had for MONTHS. I will not be going back to this establishment. I will find a new doctor if I have too. That is actually ridiculous that I'm called 4 hours before my appointment saying I need to reschedule day of or come in early because they can't do their jobs. If your doctors call off a day that is your job to call all clients that day BEFORE THE DAY OF?!?! To tell them they are off. And ask to reschedule. The day they take off would be a nice start to call the people who have done their part to make an appointment.

We drove to Northwestern down the street and were seen immediately. Good thing, too, as this situation wound up needing to be escalated to the ER. If we had waited around at North shore, who knows what might have happened. Also, at north shore there's never anyone to answer the phone. At northwestern, you can get a human on the phone quickly.
