I did make an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner, Tesha Baker. We had 2 good meetings and she referred me to a good cardiologist and a physical therapist. My problem is when I needed a refill on a prescription she couldn't do it because it had to be signed by Dr. Geldart who never seemed to be in the office. I have never exceeded my dosage on any of my meds. But I kept getting put off on my Xanax which states to take 1 or 2 a day as needed but I very seldom exceeded 1/2 a day and my 1 month prescription would last about 3 months. They would say Dr. Geldart has to sign this and he's not in the office. After a week and I couldn't get my prescription I would call my doctor in Wisconsin and explain what was going on and he would refill it for me. This week was the 3rd time I tried to get a refill. The 2nd time again I had to wait for Dr. Geldart's signature and it took 5 days . . . 3 days past the day I was empty. This week I called on Monday cause I new I didn't need it till Friday. I was told Tesha didn't have to see me but it would take 48 to 72 hours for the prescription to go through. It's Thursday so I called again and I was told she had to see me 1st but her 1st opening isn't until next Thursday (the 19th). We're leaving for up north the 18th. I explained that but it didn't matter. I did tell her (this is the truth) I have a very bad cold with a temperature of 99.8 and asked if she would see me sooner and this receptionist said she would but she still wouldn't refil my prescription. I said fine but I did say I will be looking for another doctor's office. After this I called my doctor in Wisconsin and explained the situation and he called in my prescription. Sorry such a long story but my advice is DO NOT GO TO THE FAMILY PRACTICE CENTER ON PLEASANT ST IN AVON PARK, FLORIDA. AND DON'T ASK FOR DR GELDART because he can't be much of a doctor if he's never around and his NP can't reach him for things that are out of her control or she just doesn't want to bother with.

I felt like they didn't like all of my questions, and I would question them about why they don't respond to my messages in a timely manner, also the receptionist at the Frostproof location on two occasions, messed up my appointments, and I would arrive for my appointment, and she would tell me I should have gone to the Avon Park location. I never go to that location. It's an hour and 20 mins from where I live. So I ended up having to reschedule my appointment. Brittany then sent me a certified letter stating that she was no longer going to be seeing me. I have never heard of that. She gave me a few weeks to find a new Provider. I had to start all over with someone new. I would not recommend this place. They have no idea what they are doing. And if you actually have problems, she is not the right person to help.. I would suggest seeing an actual real Dr.. They honestly don't even deserve one star. I don't know how many times Dr Geldhart needed to sign off on my refills, and it would take days and a lot of my time to keep calling and calling. I would be completely out, and was told he wasn't in the office, and he had to sign off to refill it.. My drs have always tried to help me, and they care about me, and my health. What a horrible horrible experience.

I surveyed my friends and associates and was pleased. I touched base with my insurance carriers and no problem, so it was a go. Online Presence- Up and running but a little behind the times. They have a website but no patient portal. There is a link to make an appointment but all it does is generate a call to the staff. It's time for an update! Arriving- Thy are on the southbound frontage road of US Route 27 between Avon Park and Sebring. There are several turn offs before and after them. Just query your GPS. Parking is no problem. Front of the Office- Always a big deal in a medical practice. The physical part is just fine. The reception area and treatment rooms are clean and mostly comfortable. See my pictures. The staff is better than just fine. Everybody I touched was great! The Appointment- I was able to get an appointment within a week which was great. I showed up a little early and was in a treatment room before my appointment time. Soo far, so good. Unfortunately, I sat there for almost 45 minutes with no contact from anyone! Not a good way to make a first impression! The Md- First impressions were very favorable. He knew how to listen, which is so important! His questions were organized and on point. He spent about 45 minutes with me which I appreciated. I walked out feeling good about my choice. Conclusion- A solid choice! That 45-minute wait hurt but he made up for it with quality time. I saw him about a month ago to renew my referrals for my Urologist and Cardiologist. He refused me again saying I don't need them and all I need is him! I told him I have had a Urologist and Cariologist for decades for my ongoing issues with my prostate and heart with 5 stents. He said, "that's not the way an HMO works". He further threatened me that he would stop seeing me as my Dr. because I ask for too many referrals. I was appalled and astonished that he raised his voice to me and would continually interrupt me when I was trying to speak to tell him that I have pain between my legs and in my heart. My wife went to him yesterday for a referral for a cardiologist because her gastrologist told her she needs to have a cardiologist. Dr. Kundlas listened to heart and said to her "your heart is fine, you don't need a cardiologist". My wife is a stroke survivor and cancer survivor. I am 68 years old and my wife is 71 years old, what people of our age don't have a cariologist??? I am filing a formal grievance with Humana and with any other medical entity that is appropriate. After renewing and paying in January, I discovered that 3,812 mg of edibles were missing from my allotment, and my overall recommendation had been lowered in December without my knowledge, consent, or any communication. According to MMU records, dispensary staff, and another physician, the change was made under Dr. Bassetti's authorization. When I called the office simply seeking clarification, the nurse (Karina) became hostile, interrupted me repeatedly, mocked my questions, accused me of being rude and cussing and three lies, and ultimately hung up on me twice. I had a witness present during this call and a recording. I did not curse or behave disrespectfully whatsoever and was humiliated in so many ways by everything that has transpired now. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, Dr. Bassetti emailed me accusing me of behavior that did not occur and publicly responded to my review in a way that referenced my patient status and implied misconduct. I never gave permission for my medical relationship to be discussed publicly. I only described my experience and the treatment I received from his staff. I was previously granted an exemption by another physician, which I relied upon for managing severe anxiety and PTSD. That exemption is now gone, and I have been unable to obtain the medication levels I was accustomed to without any explanation from this office. I am currently dealing with significant personal loss and recent changes to other medications, which I had hoped to discuss during my paid appointment. I have not been given that opportunity. Additionally, my husband, who is also a patient, received a phone call from Dr. Bassetti at 7:00 PM on a Friday regarding my complaint rather than being contacted about his own pending concerns or me being contacted to actually answer/address my concerns/questions that I've been waiting on clarification on since I called Mon and got belittled by Nurse and then blamed for her actions by the Dr! And blasted publicly!. We have both experienced unexplained allotment reductions. This situation could have been resolved with a simple, professional phone call explaining the changes and addressing concerns respectfully. Instead, I felt blamed, dismissed, and publicly embarrassed. Patients deserve transparency, communication, and basic respect -- especially when they are managing serious medical and mental health conditions. I have documented everything and have reported my concerns to the appropriate state authorities. I sincerely hope no other patient experiences this level of hostility or lack of communication when simply seeking clarification about their own medical care.
