We finally stopped here today and so glad we did! Our tour guide, Mr Bob Bowser, was an AMAZING guide. We homeschool and our son was like "I would love to have him for a history teacher (btw - he is a high school teacher) - not sure what this says about our teaching our son lol Anyhow so much more information than what I thought we knew. If you're in the area - stop by here. You won't regret it. A lot of history in this tour.

A little known part of history. Dr. Mudd treated John Wilkes Booth's broken leg he broke jumping from the Presidential box after mortality wounding Lincoln. The house is well preserved complete with actual items belonging to the Mudd family. You can see the door Booth came in, the bed he rested in, even the trail he used to continue his journey to Virginia. The tour guide was very informative and gave a great biography of Dr. Mudd as well as the details of Booth's visit. A must see for history buffs.

Nice tour. The people were very knowledgeable and were able to answer a lot of questions. Most of the items in the house are originals, which was neat to see. They also have a couple other displays on the property - farming equipment and civil war camp.

The beautiful house as you walk up the path from parking.

I'm a huge history nerd and have recently been doing a fair amount of research on the Lincoln assassination. As I live in the D.C. Area, I'm perfectly located to visit the relevant sites. I've been to Fords Theatre several times but decided to see some of the minor sites and I was extremely surprised at how wonderful this tour was. The docent was the absolute best I've ever had on a Lincoln related tour and since the house was lived in by the Mudd family until they turned it into a museum it is filled with pieces relevant to Dr Mudd. Often you go to a site and it is filled with recreations or items authentic to the era but not the house but this was very much the exception. They even have the couch that Booth laid on while being treated by Mudd. This place is very much the time for anyone interested in the assassination plot.

In planning the trip, which began about a year prior, we were recommended through a friend to use Asimina Tours; we were put in contact with Dimitri. Right away, Dimitri worked very closely with us to find out what we were interested in seeing, how long we were looking to stay in Italy, and what our budget was. From there, Dimitri, along with his partner Christina, put together an amazing package that allowed us to see all the sights. We went to Venice, Como, Milan, Florence, Rome, and Sorrento. Along the way, we had many day trips, the majority of which were fantastic. From Pisa, Siena, Lucca, Cinque Terre (a favorite), the Vatican, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Capri, it was a once in a lifetime experience and we had the most amazing time. Other highlights of the trip were the wine tasting in Tuscany and the private cooking class in Sorrento. They were also very accommodating with some last minute trip ideas. About 2 months prior to leaving, I had learned that one of my favorite bands, Queens of the Stone Age, were going to be performing in Italy while we were there. We contacted Dimitri and he was able to rearrange our hotel and travel accommodations, including a last minute domestic flight, without any issues. Dimitri and Christina made the entire process run smoothly. All of our travel tickets and hotel reservations were all available through the app. Our hotels were centrally located and were within walking distance from the major attractions. We really appreciated the private transportation arrangements to take us from the hotels to the train stations/airports, as well as the private tours. If you are planning on going to the Mediterranean area of Europe, I would highly recommend using Asimina Tours, they were awesome.

The hotels, unique adventures, and travel arrangements all exceeded our highest expectations, on every level. At the start Stella spoke with us at length to understand all of our needs, preferences, budget, style, priorities... and then - quite uncharacteristically - I left everything completely in her hands. She made all of the right choices and created a trip of a lifetime that we will always remember. And she made it all SO easy and stress free, and even during the trip was available 24/7 with updates and to answer any questions we had, wherever we were. We are so grateful to Stella and can't recommend her highly enough.

The park specializes in camping and seems like it would be nice for camping, but the park should have more signage for instructions/procedures during off season for more clarity. There are pretty trees and fall foliage to take advantage of. There should be more defined trailway and signs though for the different pathways. There is potential, but I would say that the park is average. I like the abundance of trees, (State Forests) and the pretty leaves during the fall time and the fact that this park is a lot better than Rosaryville, as the trailways are flat and not hilly and as dangerous as Rosaryville. There are regular parks that may not be state parks or forests that are more worth the experience. This is cool, if you are local to Brandywine or live in maybe Waldorf, Accokeek, Upper Marlboro or someplace, but if you are driving over half an hour coming from Bowie, Greenbelt, or other areas, than for a walking trail/hiking forget about it just not worth it. I don't know how the camping experience is never camped her but for trails nope.

What a gem of a campgrounds, so glad I found this spot in PG County…read more The online reservation system is great and easy to use. I like how there are pictures of each campsite so we were able to select a site that was just right for us. Checking in the day of the our trip was a breeze also, since we paid ahead for the site we just had to sign a few documents and get on our way. I will say, that charging $1 for a trails map caught us a bit offguard -- $1 hardly broke the budget but why charge us for a map if we're already paying for a campsite for the weekend? All the general family campsites are found in nice sized loop towards the back of the park. We went in early October and were pleased to see a good number of families and couples also out camping for the weekend. Generally, folks abode by quiet hours so no issues there but man were the kid campers chatty in the mornings. Neighboring kids seemed to get up an sunrise full of energy which woke us up a couple of times. Our site was clean and free of debris and we were able to set up camp within an hour or two. As we were setting up, the friendly camp ranger made rounds to come say hello and to ask if we needed anything which was a nice touch. The ranger made a few rounds around the camp loop each night just to make sure things were swell. Cedarville is great in that you don't have to buy wood only from the camp ranger (as is the case with many other sites that we tried to stay at). We were allowed to use fallen wood for campfires. We did buy one bundle of wood for $5 (got about 8 pieces) just to have as backups but our site was a goldmine of fallen limbs. I had a bow saw with me, so I just spent about an hour ear day cutting wood for the morning and evening fires. Feels so much more like camping when you gather and cut your own wood! We went for a long hike on Saturday through the blue, white, and orange trail areas. Remember to pack some water and a snack for those long hikes. The trails were well cleared and decently marked -- there were a couple of times where we were unsure exactly which trail we were on but we soon figured it out (with the help of that $1 map). The views from the trails were quite nice, definitely stopped to take a photo or two! Overall, a great camping experience for a getaway weekend. Just out of the way enough to allow you to take a break from it all, but still close enough to major roads like 301 to stock up on food, drinks, ice, etc. Definitely check Cedarville out!

There are 32 lanes in this facility. The opening hours vary from week to week and there are a lot…read moreof leagues here at varying times. On some days almost all lanes are occupied by a League and the remaining two lanes are reserved all day. The usual pattern of "Slop Shop" (not bad food but definitely not 5-star), arcade, bar and Pro Shop exist here. The food is edible, nothing really special (some of the seasonal flavored drinks are a hit, though. The current Caramel Apple Lemonade is amazing). The Pro Shop has good staff, easy to ask for and purchase whatever you are looking for in relation to bowling. When you have a ball custom drilled, they will ask up front if you want to throw with a hook or a straight ball. They will give you some guides to making it easier to bowl with better scores. They typically don't try to upsell you anything you aren't looking for. If your ball is damaged at this facility while bowling, you can take it to the front desk, tell them which lane you are on and the Pro Shop will try to repair your ball (depending on ball type) at no charge to you. The Bar appears to have a decent variety of alcoholic drinks to choose from. Not being much of a social drinker, I rarely check out the menu, so can't provide a fair assessment of it. From the "Slop Shop," when you order food, they will ask which lane you are on and if you are a League bowler, they will give you a 10% discount on the price. When the food is ready, they will deliver it to your table. Fountain drinks have free refills. On a frequent basis, when using the Men's restroom I have noticed fruit flies around the urinals and the floor is in constant need of being cleaned. Watch your step, as the floor is wet most of the time. The Arcade here is fairly small, a limited selection of games to choose from, especially if you don't want to play for tickets. Because this business is packed to the gills often, the Arcade is needed as an Escape route when there are too many people in the center lanes just hovering around everything. There are 3 entrances to this Bowling Alley. One double door by Lane 1 and the Pro Shop, two double doors in the middle and a third by Lane 32, which is more often than not locked. While there is no Smoking allowed in the bowling alley itself, there are people hovering by the doors for a quick smoke, which is technically not legal but no enforcement is there. (State law is no smoking within 20 feet of doorway entrance) The last mention I want to make is some of the lanes have frequent errors: balls get stuck, when pins are placed, some will drop frequently, forcing you to do a complete reset, if the touch panel is working at the lane. If it isn't, you have to signal the front desk to reset the lane...again and again. If you throw too many gutter balls, your ball will get dinged up pretty badly. There is a decent amount of oil placed on the House lanes and they make sure to re-oil the lanes an hour before a League is supposed to start. Sometimes the staff seem to be overworked and frustrated but they do their best to address issues as they happen. They try to take care of the facility as best as they can. But when 30 out of 32 lanes are locked out because another League is using them, it can frustrate people who want to go there to either practice or have fun without a whole lot of other people around them. Another thing that is not heavily enforced is making sure people are using actual bowling shoes instead of street shoes. Have seen people bowling with Crocs, overly inflated rubber shoes and even the current fad of barefoot shoes. As far as "Bowler's Etiquette," it just simply does not exist. While it is customary to allow neighboring aisles times to bowl without distraction, some people just grab a ball, race up to the foul line and throw it, not caring about anyone else. Not to mention the number of unsupervised kids that are running around other lanes, screaming at the top of their lungs.
