The practice is owned by Dr Sinclair and Dr Mellows. We came very close to losing $396. In March 2017, I undertook treatment there and the amount charged was $770. I presented my HCF card to one administrator M1 at the reception. She put it through the machine and after a while acclaimed it didn't work. Without giving me a "Transaction failed" print-out, she charged the full amount to my credit card. A few days later we took the account to the HCF office in Rundle Mall for a claim. Surprisingly it turned out that HCF did pay $396 to the clinic on the day of the treatment. The clinic in fact made extra $396. An HCF staff immediately telephoned the clinic to verify the situation. Another administrator M2 vehemently denied that they received the money. She told HCF it would be 3 month before they could verify the transaction against the bank statement (in the age of internet banking). HCF's head office then produced the evidence of the transaction. With evidence I called the clinic to organise a refund but the rude administrator M2 dismissed the fact and refused the refund. This went on for nearly two weeks. In the end, HCF, having repeatedly encountered the dishonest and despicable administrators of this clinic, decided it would likely mean legal cost out of our own pocket to retrieve the money. HCF overrode the system and paid us $396 and took on the clinic. HCF is a large organisation with internal legal resources for enforcement.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed recently (two days ago, so if I'm thinking well of him at this point then he must have done something right) and could not have asked for a better doctor. Not only did he do a wonderful job removing my wisdom, he left hardly any remnants that he did so - I only have minor swelling and pretty much no pain! He has a wonderful bed side manner and is very approachable to ask questions of. All in all it was, I believe, the best possible experience I could have had in having my wisdom teeth removed.

Advanced Dental is affiliated with several health funds and as someone with BUPA (the old Mutual Community) the amount of money I have to pay for a check up is slashed compared to where I went before. To have my teeth cleaned and polished and checked by the dentist, I pay nothing. Absolutely nothing, my health fund picks up the rest! Such a relief compared to other dentists! The clinic is slick and modern and with TVs in the ceiling, awkward conversations can be negated by watching the telley to fill in your time and with a full suite of specialists, all your care can be done in one place. All the clinicians here present well and are very professional. A lovely place, I reccommend this to anyone looking for a new dentist.
