After reaching out, my initial appointment was abruptly canceled about a week in advance. I later discovered that what I believed to be a local office was actually a call center. At no point did anyone explain how their scheduling works, that offices operate independently, or that doctors are independent providers. I was eventually rescheduled at the Laguna Hills location. When I arrived, the receptionist was unfriendly and immediately informed me of a $99 consultation fee. I had no issue paying this fee, had it been disclosed beforehand--which it was not. When I raised this concern, I was told that the doctor I paid the consultation fee for would be the only doctor who could treat me if I moved forward. If our personalities or approach did not align, I would be required to pay an additional consultation fee to see another doctor. That is an unacceptable business practice. To make matters worse, I was told that the person responsible for explaining financing and costs would not be available for another day or two, meaning I could not even receive a proper quote during my visit. I intentionally carved time out of my busy schedule for what is a very emotional and important decision in my life, only to leave feeling frustrated, disappointed, and misled. I will not be returning to this facility or any of its affiliates, and I would strongly caution others to be very clear about fees, scheduling, and expectations before booking an appointment.

Now I'm 5 weeks in recovery after a successful hysterectomy, and cyst removal! I've heard horror stories from other women about other obstetricians just minimizing their pains... you will not go through that here... He truly cares! And will do the very best for you! I had to rush to the office at 8:30pm to get an emergency replacement-over an hour later than the correct injection time. Even more alarming, they messed up our email address and sent sensitive medical information, including my ID, to the wrong recipient, violating HIPAA regulations. This was a serious breach of privacy and trust. Additionally, an intern nurse attempted to draw my blood but had difficulty locating my vein. After two unsuccessful and painful attempts, the process had to be restarted by someone else. It made me question the level of training and oversight in the office. Despite two failed IVF rounds, Dr. Meng told us she wouldn't change anything about the protocol. There was no openness to reevaluating or adjusting the plan based on our results, which felt dismissive and discouraging. After a four-year fertility journey with many ups and (mostly) downs, I was very anxious throughout my pregnancy about something going wrong. I also had significant, daily physical discomfort (including nausea throughout all nine months of gestation!). From my husband's and my very first appointment, we were impressed with Dr. Kurtzman's office. They were able to schedule us around our travel plans for our first visit. The scheduling/administrative staff members are very efficient and great at getting back with patients swiftly about both scheduling matters and medical questions requiring the doctor's input. They effectively multi-task and are very invested in positive patient experiences. When you call the office, you speak to a real human located inside the building! No automated phone system, portal-only care, or extra hoops to jump through blocking you from receiving timely care. When I once needed to speak to the doctor about a time-sensitive matter on a weekend, I was able to promptly contact him by phone without any issues. The physical office itself is spacious, impeccably maintained, and beautifully furnished. Medical and nursing staff, including the sonographers and personnel monitoring non-stress tests (NSTs), are good-natured and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs, expressing happiness and excitement when monitoring the baby and a desire to meet the baby once they are "on the outside!" In addition, Dr. Kurtzman is clearly an expert! He addressed my many questions thoroughly during each visit, and with empathy and caring. He is passionate about the work he does (including his research contributions to the field), and it really shows, having a significant positive impact on the quality of care patients receive. I always felt I was in good hands and never a burden. He took my complaints seriously and prescribed several medications to ease my discomfort. His office sent prescriptions to the pharmacy swiftly and effectively communicated with my regular obstetrician's office, as well as my daughter's future pediatrician. Furthermore, when I was at risk of pre-term birth, he increased my medications, monitoring, and physical restrictions, additionally ordering steroid injections in the event of an early delivery. It all paid off, and my daughter and I had a smooth induction at 39 weeks, on the day I wanted. She was born healthy and well. In a nutshell, the quality of care I received at OCMFM was significantly better than my experiences at other OB offices, with my family members and me feeling supported as individuals in more of a personalized, human-centered way that is hard to come by in these days of AI assistants, online portals, and low-contact care. I would highly recommend their services to anyone with a high-risk pregnancy who wants to feel respected, valued, and attentively cared for as a patient.

Patients seeking fertility treatment are already under significant emotional stress. It included a long medical history and review of symptoms. The practitioner instructed me to keep track of urine hormone sampling for a month and complete labs timed with my cycle through Quest. They also wanted me to due a supervised anti-inflammatory diet with DIM supplementation that cost $1400. I declined to do the diet and DIM supplementation as it seemed very costly. Due to changes in my cycle I wasn't able to complete the blood labs for over 2 months. I messaged the practitioner in the clinic portal and she wasn't able to answer any questions through their messaging system. I would have to schedule and pay for another appointment to talk to her. Today, when I went to Quest lab to get tests done, they said that the company ID was invalid for billing and unless I had insurance coverage I couldn't get the labs done. I called the clinic and they said I'd have to go to a different website for discounted labs, fill out a new lab requisition, then make another appointment with Quest labs and pay a cash price. Nothing about this process has been straightforward or easy. I am concerned that even if I do get the labs done with this other system and schedule my follow-up with Karli the PA the outcomes and costs won't be worth the trouble. The follow-up 30-minute appointment is due to be $350 and I will not be making one. In the hour appointment I had with Karli, she seemed very nice, but I don't have faith in this company's ability to care for client's virutally.

Shout out to Victoria for making sure my check in process went smoothly. Soon after the initial greeting with Dr. Liu, we were able to start the treatment right away. Half way through the treatment, dr suggested acupuncture. I was very scared of needles but the dr made sure they went in as fast and accurate as it could be. During treatment, Dr. Liu checked on me periodically to make sure I was doing ok. To my surprise, my lower back and neck felt 10 times more relived after the treatment. My muscle was very sore hours after the treatment. I decided to call them the next day to clarify my concerns. Unlike most medical offices that will schedule you couple weeks out for a post op check, Dr. Liu happily invited me back just to make sure I was doing ok. Luckily it wasn't anything major but just my body feeling unusual to be put in the "right" position. For those who are having chronic pain, it is worth every penny to give it a try to fix "problems". I am definitely coming back if further treatment is needed. They've earned my trust!

My truthful experience…read more.. I started this process in approx. March 2022 ended in approx. May 2022 I chose this facility with the hopes of getting pregnant at 41. I chose the $8000 package which essentially turned out to be approximately $14,000 minus $3000 which they were willing to give me back. Each appointment was scheduled in the morning some at 7:20 am and after driving for approximately an hour and 15 minutes a few times only to find that twice it wasn't open, yet waiting in my car until 8:00 am. Communication could and should be WAY better. More follow-up calls are needed, and more patient checks to see how we are doing and if we have questions. (I had none from anyone but the Dr. for a total of four calls) Most of the time the Dr. called with lab results or I called or emailed questions. It takes forever to get a response. I had several ultrasounds and vaginal ultrasounds at this facility. Approx. on the third ultrasound, the Dr. says you might have fibroids. I ask him if I need to go to my primary care Dr. to get this checked before we start anything, the Dr. says "no we can handle that here, don't worry". I had to call several times to find out what the next steps were. I was then called by the financial department representative stating that I needed a cryo test which was approx. $600 and not included in the package for IVF. I paid for it and did the test, the results were good to go. I was then told that the Dr. was placing me on birth control for seven days. I was asked to do another vaginal ultrasound and on that day told that the Dr. was going on vacation soon. I started the birth control and continued office visits with two other Dr.'s as I was leaving I was told I needed to pay approx. 200 for the visit. I paid it as no one told me when I would pay the 8,000. I received a call from the financial department requesting the 8,000 payment. I asked if the $200 would be deducted they said no and I paid the 8,000. I was told before the Dr. left for vacation I was "good to go" and everything looked great. I at that point had several vaginal ultrasounds, and good blood work along with the dye test for my tubes which was done at another facility through my network, and both tubes were open. I was then told to purchase the 6,000 meds. I purchased them. I was given a 10-minute class on how to use them and sent videos. I started meds and was told I would be on them for approx. 11 days then my egg retrieval. By this time I had spent the aprx. $14,000. When the Dr. returned from vacation I did my last ultrasound before retrieval and was told while naked on the table, "I can't do the retrieval you have too many fibroids that need to be removed". I cried like a baby whose world had been snatched away. The Dr. said "I know I know I am sorry but we can do an IUI. At this point, all types of things were in my head, so I agreed because I felt there was still hope. On the day of the IUI the assistant gives the Dr. the wrong size clamps three times meanwhile I am laying there naked, sperm thawed waiting, and finally had an unsuccessful IUI. I then I get the bills and reimbursement email...I got 3,000 of my 14,000 and an IUI that was unsuccessful lost time and emotionally drained. They email me an itemized total and I see $1500 for a 10-minute IVF meds class WTH. By this time I felt swindled and taken advantage of. Everyone is nice until you start requesting money back and explanations. I requested my complete medical file two weeks ago and still have not received it, then I called and the response was "we are extremely busy and the regular office clerk is on vacation I am doing what I can, we will get it out to you". I basically took meds for IVF for no reason (waisted $6000) and paid 5000 for an IUI. I wasn't going to leave a review but I was encouraged to do so in the event someone need this message.
