Before her arrival, my baby girl and I were patients at OC Maternal-Fetal Medicine (OCMFM) due to my high-risk pregnancy (IVF and AMA, age 35). After a four-year fertility journey with many ups and (mostly) downs, I was very anxious throughout my pregnancy about something going wrong. I also had significant, daily physical discomfort (including nausea throughout all nine months of gestation!). From my husband's and my very first appointment, we were impressed with Dr. Kurtzman's office. They were able to schedule us around our travel plans for our first visit. The scheduling/administrative staff members are very efficient and great at getting back with patients swiftly about both scheduling matters and medical questions requiring the doctor's input. They effectively multi-task and are very invested in positive patient experiences. When you call the office, you speak to a real human located inside the building! No automated phone system, portal-only care, or extra hoops to jump through blocking you from receiving timely care. When I once needed to speak to the doctor about a time-sensitive matter on a weekend, I was able to promptly contact him by phone without any issues. The physical office itself is spacious, impeccably maintained, and beautifully furnished. Medical and nursing staff, including the sonographers and personnel monitoring non-stress tests (NSTs), are good-natured and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs, expressing happiness and excitement when monitoring the baby and a desire to meet the baby once they are "on the outside!" In addition, Dr. Kurtzman is clearly an expert! He addressed my many questions thoroughly during each visit, and with empathy and caring. He is passionate about the work he does (including his research contributions to the field), and it really shows, having a significant positive impact on the quality of care patients receive. I always felt I was in good hands and never a burden. He took my complaints seriously and prescribed several medications to ease my discomfort. His office sent prescriptions to the pharmacy swiftly and effectively communicated with my regular obstetrician's office, as well as my daughter's future pediatrician. Furthermore, when I was at risk of pre-term birth, he increased my medications, monitoring, and physical restrictions, additionally ordering steroid injections in the event of an early delivery. It all paid off, and my daughter and I had a smooth induction at 39 weeks, on the day I wanted. She was born healthy and well. In a nutshell, the quality of care I received at OCMFM was significantly better than my experiences at other OB offices, with my family members and me feeling supported as individuals in more of a personalized, human-centered way that is hard to come by in these days of AI assistants, online portals, and low-contact care. We can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Kurtzman and his team! I was a high risk pregnancy because of my age and a unicornuate uterus (essentially half a uterus). This rare anomaly causes a significantly higher risk of miscarriage, preterm labor, and c-section due to a breech position. Our, now 3 year old and a couple weeks shy of 2 year old, boys were born at 34 weeks 6 days and 33 weeks 5 days. Not only was I able to deliver vaginally, but because of Dr. Kurtzman's attentive care, monitoring, and prescription of steroids prior to their arrival, both boys only spent 6 days in the NICU. Every piece of furniture and decoration is so well-decorated that I don't even feel like I am at the doctor's office. They even use freshly laundered hand towels instead of paper towels in their restrooms! WHOA. Fancy. The visits do take a little longer than I originally expected but I understand why because he is a specialty doctor and his bedside manner and care in his patients is top notch. As someone who works full time, it is hard for me to find an opening but that's just my personal work schedule. His front desk staff are great! They are super warm and welcoming and friendly. I am the most impressed with the communication of his front desk staff with patients. They call to inform me of lab results and updates in a very timely manner and call to remind me of appointments. Great job! I highly recommend Dr. Kurtzman if you are looking for a high risk OB specialist. read more

I was referred to Dr. Kurtzman because my pregnancy was considered high risk. I went through IVF, have Sjogrens antibodies, the placenta was placed in an odd position along with the cord, and I'm no spring chicken. I hated having to go to yet another doctor and have multiple visits throughout my pregnancy especially after young through IVF, but Dr. Kurtzman and his team always made feel welcome and comfortable. Their office is amazing (spa vibes!) and really made it seem like a second home to me. Because of the team, I felt confident in my pregnancy and it was amazing to see my little bean every other week and know that he was healthy and growing well. My son was born on 6/20/2024 and I have Dr. Kurtzman and team to thank. Thank you so much for taking such great care of us and providing us with all the support. The best doctor and staff, ever, period. We were referred to see Dr. Kurtzman because I had a premiee in my last pregnancy. He was kind, detail-oriented, extremely intelligent, and thorough. We felt so comforted to be in such good hands during my difficult pregnancy. I still remember the late night calls I received from Dr. Kurtzman while I was in the hospital checking to see if I was ok even when he was no longer required to offer me any medical care since the hospital staff had basically taken over. I'll never forget what he did for us because our beautiful baby boy would not be here right now without his expertise. I am incredibly grateful for his care and staff, and I would recommend him to anyone experiencing a high risk pregnancy. His office also feels very peaceful and it's beautiful, you never feel stressed going because it resembles a spa. Dr. K, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. read more
