I've been with OBGYN CARE since 2016, and Dr. Marinescu was amazing with my c section! He has always been so detailed, and makes sure that the baby, and the mom is in good health! He was even able to make my scar better from my first c section! I had keloids and he was able to make it a clean line. Now in 2023... I went in for my Annual check up, and he found that I had a cyst on my left ovary! My stomach was growing and I have been having pains but I thought it was my other issues that were causing them. He quickly issued tests to see the cyst, and found out I had endometriosis and the endometrium (chocolate cyst) on top of all my other issues... he then ran other tests to see if I was fit for surgery and got me in as soon as possible! Now I'm 5 weeks in recovery after a successful hysterectomy, and cyst removal! I've heard horror stories from other women about other obstetricians just minimizing their pains... you will not go through that here... He truly cares! And will do the very best for you! Dr. Marinescu... He is a gem! He's brilliant! And he's such a skilled surgeon... And I feel blessed to have him as my Obgyn... I will forever be grateful to him! I had high expectations when I made my appointment with Dr. Marinescu. I've been so accustomed to checking Yelp to get local recommendations and wanted to make sure I was in good hands if planning to have a baby. However, I was extremely disappointed. Maybe he was having a bad day but he was very hasty and rude during this appointment. I told him I had questions but his attitude and pushiness caused me to become flummoxed. His answers to the questions that were asked were very very vague and condescending, which made me feel even more irritable and overwhelmed. He did refer me for an ultrasound which was helpful and I really enjoyed working w the technician who has positive things to say about the work she did and about Dr Marinescu. I would have rated 1 star but am giving 2 out of benefit of the doubt. However, I do not plan to return for a second time. read more

If someone considering surgery for endometrioma or fibroid and looking for a doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Marinescu. He and his team are great. I had been suffering from an ovarian cyst over 9cm and he suggested the surgery without hesitation and he was very confident on the robotic sugrgery while most obgyn doctors are hesitant, due to lack of experience and or knowledge, but he saved my ovaries! After a terrible experience with another doctors office, months of insurance complications and tonnes of stress, Dr. Marinescu agreed to take me on very late in my pregnancy (32 weeks). He is incredibly thorough, straightforward, calming and informative. After complications during labour, I was informed I would need an emergency c section. His expertise, demeanor and advocacy shine bright. The real life super hero! I am beyond grateful. I had two pregnancies both delivered at Hoag with Dr. Marinescu second pregnancy turned into an emergency on 11/30 since I had postpartum hemorrhaging and needed to have a hysterectomy to save my life, I could see and hear he did everything he could to save my uterus and avoid this the entire time. I did not have any fear I had complete trust in doctor Marinescu as I could hear him directing and redirecting other medical professionals beside him on what needed to be done to save me and being my best advocate. He knows exactly what to do in times of emergency, and that's when it matters most. If it wasn't for him being there I don't think I would be here. He jumped into action and turns into a lion to make sure he saves you. Dr. Marinescu is the reason I am alive today to enjoy my two boys (he both delivered ) and husband. Im so sad from the service i got after spending almost couple plus hundreds of fees from visit and test and multiple test was not corected and and multiple lab fees that was sent by mistake and i have to indure the multiple notice to pay it. Please guys reach out to me. I call multiple times because its so depressing and stressing for me my and husband for almost 7months. Its so sad to leave this facility ,I do like the doctor and staff abut after this issue i dont even feel safe and taken care of and btw its a $162 dollars of fees that was not process by my provider. I went in for my first appointment. When examining me I started to ask him my prewritten questions. His comment was "I hope you don't have too many questions I have a lot of patients to see." I was shocked at the comment but quickly went through my questions. This man had such a strong accent talking very fast. I was unable to understand a lot of his answers. I have an appliance that he took out never putting it never back in like other doctors have done. The gel used for the exam was left on and never wiped off my skin. It got all over my clothing. I am so happy with the experience I've had with Dr. Marinescu. I began looking for a new OBGYN when my former doctor told me I needed a hysterectomy and that I needed to have a large abdominal incision, lengthy hospital stay, and 6 week recovery. After doing a lot of research I chose Dr. Marinescu based on his specialty in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and impressive reviews I read on multiple sites. Dr. Marinescu did not disappoint! I went in with a long list of questions and he answered every one of them before I asked. His bedside manner is kind, caring and professional. His Irvine office is incredibly clean and efficiently run. The nurses/assistants are all very kind and easy going. My wait times were only ever just a few minutes. Dr. Marinescu runs his practice how you wish every doctor ran theirs. With my minimally invasive hysterectomy I was in the hospital overnight, had minimal pain, and felt at ease knowing I had a skilled surgeon performing my surgery. I was feeling pretty good after 2 weeks. I still had to take things slow, but was able to care for my busy family. I highly recommend Dr. Marinescu and his wonderful staff! read more

This review is long overdue. Dr. Marinescu is the most competent, thorough, and efficient ob-gyn that I have ever encountered. I was referred to him by Dr. Kurtzman (high risk) when I was unsuccessful for almost a year trying to get pregnant. I had a horrendous experience with my last OB-Gyn/delivery (who I found out no longer has privileges at Hoag) and was both emotionally and physically scarred from the experience. I swore this time would be different, and did extensive research to make sure that I found the right physician this time around. Dr. Marinescu acknowledged my concerns. He worked diligently to not only help me get pregnant within two months, but managed my pregnancy (which later became high risk) and orchestrated a seamless delivery. Pros: Office staff is very polite, rarely am I put on hold when calling, and I have only had to wait on the Dr. once, for which he was very apologetic and it was only 5-10 minutes. All of the labs and test reviews are displayed on the online portal, and when there is an abnormal result-he calls, in a timely fashion. There is no calling the office 15 times in hopes someone calls you back to discuss. In fact, when you email him through the portal he almost always responds within 24-48 hours. His calm demeanor puts anxious pregnant women at ease (as an ICU nurse myself I could never deal with that patient population). Honestly, he is just as good of a gynecologist as he is an obstetrician and that's important for all of the issues that happen AFTER the baby. I am so very thankful that I found him. Cons: I wish I could just use him as my PCP bc I trust him more than any general practitioner out there read more

After being turned away by my other OBGYN, I found Dr. Marinescu and I am so glad I got turned away. Dr. Marinescu is an awesome doctor. As someone who works in medicine myself I was extremely disappointed in my experience as a new patient here. After arriving I was told there would be a 20 minute wait. I understand that doctors can get behind so that is not unreasonable. After around 45 minutes I inquire about the wait as I had just received a call that my daughter was sick and needed to be picked up. I was told now that it would be over an hour wait. I had to have someone else pick up my daughter and was seen after over 1.5 hour wait. When I finally did see Dr. Marinescu he and the staff did not even acknowledge the wait and spent less than 5 minutes with me. This was a first time visit regarding a complicated issue. I now just received a notice that they have billed over $1000 in charges for that visit. As someone in medicine I have no idea what they could have billed for to get this when no procedures or tests were done. I new visit is usually (99202 or even longer 99203) would be only $100-$200. Thankfully I have a good PPO plan that paid for most of this but will definitely not be returning. read more

What can I say, number of stars does not possibly dictate the level of competency Dr Marinescu and his staff has shown. My wife went to Dr Marinescu with a level 4 endometriosis exhibiting a frozen pelvis and 3 different ovarian cysts ranging from 16cm, 5cm and 4cm in size that are giving her unbearable pain and fluctuating high temperatures for the past month. After visiting many other top rated OBGYNs around the OC and greater LA area (some of which are well reviewed and publicized) in hopes of solving her conundrum we are dumbfounded at some of the recommendations given. Plainly put it, while a few believe her condition is too great for them to treat and others are felt like they are just out for money, none had the confidence to acknowledge our main concern for the need to keep her ovary(s) so that we can have a greater chance at having children later. One well publicized doctor didn't even bother to look at her ultrasound and told us after meeting for 5 minutes that he will have to cut her open down the middle due to the size of her cyst which would be impossible to remove via laparoscopy and that she also will likely lose one of her ovary for certain as the largest of the cysts has already enveloped it. While we understand that doctors never give out promises, we would have appreciated more positive attitude and reinforcement which goes a long way of foreshadowing his bedside manner we as patients all look for and that apparently had been a common negative reflection among other reviewers. Dr Marinescu on the other hand come well regarded from all the research that we have done and his calm demeanor facing my condition brought comfort and confidence to me that he will be able to do a good job. One 2 hour long laparoscopy and a 2 week recovery later, we are EXTREMELY happy to say that my wife is cyst free and she have BOTH of her ovaries in tact! Not only did Dr Marinescu diagnosed her condition correctly, he also accurately diagnosed the issue dealing with an infection that was causing the fluctuating temperatures related that need to be addressed prior to surgery which would have gave complications if not caught beforehand. His skillful execution with robotic surgery helped remove the large cyst without cutting her wide open, and of course help saved that particular ovary at the same time. His due diligence also made sure the surgery center staff was keeping a watchful eye on her while she stayed overnight at surgery center for post op recovery. I could not give enough recommendation for Dr Marinescu and his practice. I believe there is no condition too great or complex for him to handle. So if you are suffering from any particularly unique condition and are turmoiling over what to do or how to treat it. Call Dr Marinescu ASAP. And if you gain the level of trust in him as we have, you will not be disappointed in the result. We on the other hand have found our OBGYN for when me and my wife are expecting, and will see Dr Marinescu in the future on a more joyous note! read more
