I ordered two lunch special Gen Tso Chicken and a large hot & sour soup. The soup was ordered separately since the lunch special did not come with soup. The chicken and rice was just ok, the meat itself was non-existent or maybe just over cooked to a crisped. Nonetheless, it wasn't the normal Gen Tso chicken I'm accustomed to, more of on the orange chicken and there's no bits of broccoli. However, the hot & sour soup was on point. This place is just ok for a quick bite, but I can't imagine ordering a full Gen Tso chicken. A glimpse from the dining area the kitchen looks clean.

Egg drop soup, pork lo mein, chicken & snow peas, pork fried rice and white rice. We also ordered generals chicken and broccoli.

Peter Chang - 13. Basil Eggplant in Clay Pot Lunch Special

Peter Chang (Williamsburg)…read more GOOD: mixed meat Mei fun was excellent. Service was good and friendly. Prices are reasonable (but*) BAD: The pork fried dumplings needed a longer fry. They only appeared to touch the frying pan for barely a minute. They had a steamed, flimsy texture, and I was going for that nice crust, which separates a pan-fried dumpling from a steamed dumpling. My server was very good but the kitchen was very slow tonight, it took almost another twenty-five minutes to get the entree out after the appetizer, and the restaurant was only moderately busy at best. The table next to me also had to wait for every course. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Even the dumplings that were under fried had good flavor. *Please be aware, which came as a shock to me, that the restaurants on that particular street are subject to a 12%to 13% percent sales tax, which was really off putting. I would still go back to Peter Chang's but probably another location because of the tax and the slow kitchen.

This isn't your run of the mill prepackaged Chinese restaurant, they make authentic Chinese and dishes that break your perception of what American Chinese restaurants can be. I had the crispy pork skin, fish and cilantro soup, and the Szechuan hot pot. All of it was amazing. The restaurant it self isn't anything fancy but the food makes up for it. Do yourself a favor and give it a try

I've been ordering from Panda Wok for seven years, and it has never let me down. The food is consistently good every single time, which is something I really appreciate. My go to favorites include the Orange chicken, Hunan chicken, Hunan beef, Sweet and Sour chicken, Szechuan chicken, and Szechuan beef. I called earlier in the day to see if we should make reservations, but was told they wouldn't be busy. Well, we got there and while they had plenty of tables at 6:30PM, but 7PM that place was completely packed! They had lots of carry-out orders happening too, which all made the kitchen a little slow. We ordered many dishes to share and all started coming out one after another over the next hour until the beef & broccoli was the last dish. Again, I attribute the slowness of the kitchen to their being so busy. At least all the food that came out was very fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Some interesting items that were quite good were their potatoes and green peppers. This dish is something I've never seen before but was pretty good! It features long julienned potatoes that they clearly soak in water before wok'ing with the peppers - that was all that was in the dish, but it was still tasty. Their Fish in Chili Oil & Bean Sprouts was really tasty and fresh! The fish is flounder. Their spicy wontons in chili oil were very popular with our group too. Service here was friendly too and helpful. Like I said, we tried many items, so many more than I just outlined and all were nice. I'd definitely return for a slightly more elevated Chinese menu from what you get at the typical Chinese-American joints.
