First time visit! The dining area was clean and the lady at the counter was friendly. I ordered the General Tso chicken and beef broccoli lunch special with egg roll and wonton soup. And 4-pc chicken wings. It's not the General Tso that I'm accustomed to it has red sauce but the chicken was tender. Beef broccoli was on the salty side. Wonton soup was delicious. The portion was smaller compare to the other places in the area. Hot & sour soup only comes in large; small size is not an option or maybe it should. Although the food is different it was fresh and still good. The wings were crispy but need some type of sauce i.e., mambo sauce or some hot sauce packets. I always prefer to eat in but they do take out option. It's always super clean and every year you are given a Chinese calendar. It beats the other competitions around (my bf and I have had our fair share of foodventures) and has become our go-to spot for our American Chinese fix. Our usual order consists of egg drop soup, sesame chicken, and pork lo mein, all of which have been consistently delicious each time. Of course, we've ventured out of our basic order and have tried a variety from their menu (e.g. dumplings, hot and sour soup, mei fun, mongolian beef, moo goo gai pan, etc.) -- also very good. I can count on trying a different dish and still be satisfied with my order. The prices are decent and their staff has always been pleasant. I searched HIGH and I searched low for a halfway decent Chinese restaurant in the Tide Water Area. I suffered with the poorly prepared foods in most of the Chinese restaurant around my area. Tonight I refused to settle, my journey started in Virginia Beach, not one Chinese restaurant above 3 stars. Chesapeak, not one restaurant above 3 stars this is getting sad. Suffolk, nope. Newport News, Nope! Finally, 46 minutes from my home, way in a distance, I see Panda with 30 reviews and 4 solid stars! YES! I drove from Suffolk to Hampton just to have decent Chinese food. I ordered strictly based on the Yelp community who said they were good to go! I walked in and told the young lady at the counter, how far I drove and my reason for driving so far. She took my order and said that she hope I enjoy it as I took my carry out to my car. 40 minutes later, my niece, my wife and I sat down and enjoyed Singapore rice noodles, egg foo young and fried rice. I am happy to say that the yelp community did not let me down. Panda was definitely worth the drive and the next time I desire Chinese, I will make that drive again! This spot is, by far, the best place for Chinese takeout around town. Some of the best customer service and nicest reception. The food is always done right and tastes great. They will even customize things how you want outside of menu or normal preparation ways. Solid. I won't even try another place at this point because they do everything so good.
