This unassuming building has been home to several different restaurants in the 16 years we've been driving by. Most have been okay. Chen's is pretty good! The staff are friendly and courteous, and just walking in, the place smells delicious. Darling Bride got the King Pao chicken combo, and I got the Chicken with Schezuan sauce. Combos come with pork fried rice, and choice of a pork egg roll or soup. We opted for egg rolls AND soups, for an upcharge. My hot and sour soup was excellent- the broth had the perfect texture, that sort of thick, almost slippery, not quite gelid mouthfeel. You know what I mean. Lots of places screw that up, but not these guys. My Bride was pleased with her wonton soup- the broth wasn't salty, and the wontons were good. The egg rolls were expertly fried- piping hot and crisp, with fluffy cabbage and warm pork bits. Not at all greasy. I would have preferred hot mustard, but the duck sauce was good. My chicken was delicious; the vegetables were fresh and cooked well, and the meat was nice and tender. Darling Bride's Kung Pao was excellent, with lots of red and green peppers. The hot tea we got was good, even though it came as a bag in a cup, instead of in a pot. The server was quick to refresh it. The total for two combos, two soups, and tea for two was $24 including the tax, but before tip. We will certainly be back again!

We were staying at Chippokes Plantation SP and decided to try Chen's Asian grill. It was great. They were busy on this Friday night , but we were served quickly. Most of the customers (like us ordered their food to go) We had the spring rolls, chicken fried rice and the broccoli with garlic sauce. Our food was prepared quickly and the portions were generous- enough for leftovers. We will definitely return on our next trip.

This was the crab Rangoon someone raves about on Williamsburg recommendations. I can't.

Today I got the seafood ramen with mussels, clams and a couple of pieces of imitation crab sticks. The broth was warm and tasty, and spicy after adding generous spoonfuls of the chili oil, a must-add for cold, wet weather. I also snuck some bites of my husband's katsu-don and was a little jealous of how good it was. Next time I will get the katsu ramen bowl and have the best of both worlds. We also got sashimi and crab Rangoon for appetizers which everyone enjoyed. And my lychee ice tea was sooo good. It's a bit sweet but the lychee flavor was amazing and I can't wait to try the other flavors. Overall a great experience, especially after a day of traveling in chilly weather. Thank you for the great service and friendly welcome, can't wait to return!

I ordered the Kake Udon for me and two orders of steamed gyoza for my kiddo. I gotta say, I was surprised when the order arrived. The udon noodles were paper thin compared to what I'm used to. The fried tofu was so hard it was basically inedible, and the broth - well, it had little to no flavor. To top it off, my kiddo took a bite of one dumpling and then spit it out. This child DESTROYS dumplings, so I asked him what happened -- he said "who puts corn and carrots in a gyoza dumpling?!?" and I can't say I disagree with him. Pork and cabbage filling - duh! Overall, totally not our jam and we probably won't revisit it. I guess the reviews are based more on folks who haven't experienced true Japanese cooking? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure my Japanese host mother would have given it no stars.

Boy was I lucky that I did! The place was absolutely awesome! It was an entirely unique experience for me being a spin on the "All You Can Eat" style of dining, giving you all the tools you need for a delicious rice bowl (or noodle bowl! There are loads of options!). When you walk in, the decor is superb with a super clean atmosphere and generally good looking. Me and my party were immediately sat down, and given a rundown on how everything works and the ordering cards. And we went to work, there was a whole smorgasbord of toppings. From noodles, to broccoli, lamb, beef, and even some crazy stuff like squid and many-many kinds of fish! There was so much variety that unless you're lame you can get something new, fresh, n' delicious every time you visit. I selected my mix of ingredients, then my sauces, and the Chef grabbed it right up and began cooking. In no time at all our bowls were ready to eat. I can't really remember all the stuff I put I'n my bowl but It ALL was absolutely delicious. High variety, fast service, and delicious taste? all the makings of a 5/5, if you're in the area and are looking for something unique, go to Yummy Bowl immediately!

My husband and I usual order are 2 bowls, 1 or 2 sushi rolls and then we will ask for a small empty bowl to make a portion for my 2-year-old. However, today I ordered 1 bowl for me so I can share it with my 2 y.o, as usual. My husband didn't feel like eating so he had a soft shell crab appetizer, and 1 volcano roll. I made a portion for my son in an empty bowl so my husband can feed him so I can eat. And that's how the harassment started. We got harassed TWICE, BACK TO BACK from 2 different servers. The first server straight approached us with the menu, pointed at the policy part and say "we have this policy no sharing yada yada". I stared back at him and said, "We are not sharing, my son is 2 y.o, what do you mean I cannot share my food with my son." "Oh I thought your husband is eating from that bowl." My husband said " I do not eat it, this is for my son, and I am feeding him." "Oh okay I just want to make sure that you know the policy." Then he walked away. No sorry or whatsoever from him. Five minutes later a second server approached and said the exact same thing. I stared at her and again said my son is 2 what do you mean?! She said oh sorry I thought that was your husband was eating. So my son just eat and breathe air? My husband couldn't stand anymore and told them how harassed they are to us right now. We ended the meal and packed everything home. At least this time the second server apologized and said that's her 2nd day working here. Nevertheless, there are multiple ways to handle the situation. I used to be a server for 5+ years and I really don't like the way they approach and make assumptions about us sharing food like that, at all. They didn't even bother asking if my husband was eating from that small bowl or not to start with. I later told my husband, "if I was the one fed our son from the small bowl, they probably wouldn't said that to us." My husband said "Feeding the kid is both mom and dad's duty. Who says only the mother can feed the kid?" The menu says 3 and under are exclusive from the no sharing policy. It doesn't say anything about if one person eat the bowl, the entire party has to order bowl or If one person eat sushi roll, the entire party has to do the same. Negative!!!! To the manager, owner: if you want, go ahead and check the camera to see if my husband ever touch or eat my food from my bowl or from my son's bowl on April 8, 2026 from 11-11:50am, table 2.

Sushi is just okay, i've had more quality rolls with a lot of different fillings for the same price. Yakisoba is very good with the yum yum sauce especially the beef which is tender (my family really liked the yakisoba and I assume the hibachi and chahan is probably just as good). The atmosphere: It's a small restaurant best suited for small groups, though there are a few tables that can accommodate larger parties. You order at the cashier and they bring the food to your table. There's also a self-serve drink station, and they provide free water cups that you can refill. The food: We started with the takoyaki and chicken karaage. The takoyaki was good, but fairly standard. The chicken karaage portion was generous, and the pieces were large. The coating was lighter than what I'm used to, which kept the chicken juicy, but it did make it a bit oily. I also wished there was more seasoning in the chicken or batter since I ended up relying on the spicy mayo sauce quite a bit. For my entree, I ordered the pork katsu with rice and tonkotsu sauce. It was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I also would've preferred a slaw instead of just a few pieces of lettuce. Portions overall were big, and the dishes are definitely shareable. The service: Service was touch-and-go, very much a fast-casual setup.

We were greeted immediately when we walked in by Kelly, who took our order and was the sweetest! I was so excited when I looked at the menu but decided to get a regular bulgogi bento box since that's what I had a taste for. I wanted kimchi, stir fried garlic broccoli, and chili garlic cucumber. My boyfriend wanted the same but instead of broccoli he wanted the marinated fish cake. I was excited to try some of his. We took the food home to eat and was pretty disappointed. He received the exact same meal I had. No fish cake. Boooo that sucks. Oh well. Then we realized they didn't do a thing to the broccoli. Just cold and unseasoned. I'm used to this type of broccoli at my favorite Korean place and it's a good offset when you have spicy flavors but it's not what we ordered. The bulgogi didn't taste like it was from a wok at all. It was kinda steamed. The flavor seemed like it came from a grocery store jar. Same with the kimchi. It tasted like the kimchi I get from the grocery. It was an okay meal - it got the job done of filling me up. But I don't think I'll return to this location if I want Korean food. All the stars for Kelly though. We loved her.
