I love coming here! It's definitely a hole in the wall spot and is hidden. Despite it being known for their Chinese food, the rare steak pho here is honestly my favorite. My go to used to be PHO 7 in national city, but since discovering this place months back, it's really the only place I go to. Every neighborhood needs to have a Dragon express! I live in Mira Mesa but was in the area of Dragon Express. My daughter and I would come here all the time back in the day. It's still good! I ordered rare steak pho and ate it there. Then I ordered a two piece combo and a grilled banh mi sandwich to go. Customer service is always good . They're very nice, friendly and attentive. The pho was delicious. Is it the best pho I've ever had, no but it's good. I of course doctor it up with all the good stuff. They are a little stingy when it comes to the Thai basil, sprouts etc. very very small amount. I made it work though. Their sate sauce is really spicy which I love. Not sure if it's home made or store bought. The Banh Mi was delicious. Nice little crunch to the bread. Meat was delicious. I ate the sandwich so fast I didn't take any pics but I would order again. My combo was good. I wish the had more options though. The beef and Broccoli looked a little dry, leftovers-ish. I opted for the honey chicken and spicy chicken. There was no spice at all with the chicken but it was good. The honey chicken was also good. Wish it was served off the bone but that's ok. The noodles a little greasy and thick. Hole the wall spot located in a strip mall. A locals Panda Express if you will. Fast & friendly service and great if you need a quick lunch I didn't get a chance to try to full menu, but got a combo meal from the hot bar. I got a 2 item combo with half fried rice/ half lo mein, orange chicken & beef and broccoli which was ~$12. The fried rice had some hard crunchy bits making me think they used old rice and the beef was slightly over cooked. Overall food is ok but portions are LARGE so it's a good deal. read more

This is an awesome find for both Chinese and Vietnamese basic traditional dishes. From the fried rice to Pho everything on the menu is yummy and delicious. We have been here several times and it always hits the cravings on point. There are other Vietnamese fusion places around the area as well but not as savory as this place, this is why we keep coming back to this spot. Keep in mind the only down fall to this spot is that for some odd reason they are closed on Saturdays and Sundays(crazy right?). You would think more people would come and visit but who knows why it's closed on the weekends. In this visit we had the dragon house fried rice, dragon house lo mein, Mongolian beef and fried chicken wings. FYI the dishes that contain "dragon house" in the name of the dish contains shrimp, beef, and chicken. All the items we picked were on point, satisfying the cravings. I first start off with, "if the fried rice ain't right then the rest ain't right". My only suggestion on the Mongolian beef dish if you do order it. The staff will let you know before hand as well but it is mainly onions and some beef. I would say the ratio is about 70% onion to 30% beef, it is still packed with delicious flavor and not "oniony" as you would think. The chicken fried wings are great, packed with an amazing crunch. It was my first time trying this place out. My friend has been here many times and she recommended it so I gave it a try. I ordered the chicken bahn mi it was super delicious and hot! I also got the egg rolls and it was yummy as well. Smaller than other egg rolls that I've had but it was still yummy. The server was really nice and she kept checking in with our table. We ordered a beef pho as well as the 2 entree combo (orange chicken and curry). Having been here a handful of times (more than Yelp states) and prior to COVID, during and recently.... employees have been friendly, quick, efficient and accommodating. Seating inside is available or take-out. We finly made it before 6pm, as the buffet closes at 6pm. Therefore we are all able to order different items. The beef and broccoli is one of my favorites. The chow mein is a bit dry, but qith some soy sauce goes down so smooth! The mushroom chicken qas really good, as was the teriyaki chicken and flavorful. The combos are very reasonably priced for the amount of food you receive. This is one of my go-to places in the South Bay to get Chinese food. Okay...so this is my favoriteeeeee place to get pho, Thai tea, bahn mi and everything in between. First of all they ALWAYS remember me, even if it's been a year or two they remember me, ask how I'm doing, ask about my kids...etc. I just love how personable they are and that's very important to me. Second visit: ordered spring rolls and a grilled chicken banh mi with jalapeño... they were both out of this world. Spring roll itself was as usual, but the dip (peanut sauce if I'm not mistaken) was exceptional. They added a dab of pepper and sent my taste buds glowing. Our family of four came here while on vacation as this place was close to our hotel. This place has both Vietnamese and Chinese food which was a draw for us as the kids love Pho. It looked like a hole in the wall which we took as a good sign. It looks to be run by the husband and wife and their three kids were also there hanging out at a corner table. My 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son both ordered the Pho with meatballs. We noticed they had sriracha which was a surprise as there is a shortage at home in Virginia. My wife ordered the grilled pork vermicelli and I ordered a daily combo with fried rice, garlic chicken & sweet and sour chicken. All four of us really enjoyed our meal and the owners were very friendly. They said they are closed on Saturday and Sunday so be sure to come on the weekdays. I came and they only had a (2) pre made trays for sale of the speedy take out Chinese food. They offered to cook me anything fresh. I wanted to try because of the Yelp reviews. I was not let down. I was hungry so I ordered some shrimp and chicken spring rolls. They were big and very good. My pho came soon after. Good sized bowl with plenty of meat. Also the flavor was good. As I was dining on my meal, I was still going over the menu. Some good stuff and I already want to try some things. Dining inside is medium sized. The place is clean too. The lady employee was very nice. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very willing to explain each item and provide recommendations. The prices are very reasonable. I cannot get over how lovely this place is. The customer service couldn't be better. The husband and wife that run it are so wonderful, kind, and patient. They will repeatedly get up even when they're in the middle of their own meal or trying to help their kids with something to come help a customer. The food is fantastic. The Chinese food they serve is so affordable. My favorite is the eggplant and tofu and I'm not even a fan of tofu! But the sauce they cook it in is so, so tasty. The pho is good, not great, but that's mainly because the broth is a little greasy and needs a little help with it's flavor and let's face it, a good broth is the best judgement of a good bowl of pho. The reason I didn't mind too much is because I love the way they cook the noodles here for some reason, and the broth can be helped with the plentiful seasonings they offer you- I added a tiny bit of soy sauce, and a lot of sriracha and hoisin. For a little over $5 the price is a little more expensive than other pho places too, but the helping is generous. The banh mi sandwiches are my favorite part about this place. FANTASTIC. They stuff it with amazing, flavorful pork that is seriously mouthwatering and they aren't shy with the amount of meat they give you like at other places. The bread is crispy, and all of the ingredients, like with their Chinese food, taste flavorful and fresh. It's the kind of Chinese and Vietnamese food that you don't feel guilty about eating after. The only downside is it's located in a bit of a dodgey area of Chula Vista (right next to the trolley), so it's surrounded by creepers when it gets late. They close at 9 p.m. and the first time I went was around 7:30 p.m. on a weekend and there were a few homeless people they had to shoo away outside. They also run out of food for the combos really fast. I visited on a weekday at around 2 p.m. and they were out the orange chicken and the tofu and I didn't want to order a big helping instead of the combo so I settled for pho.
