Family owned, super friendly, good food, really happy this place is in my neighborhood!

The dumplings were burnt and no sauce. The sweet and sour chicken literally had no chicken in it!! I will not be going back.

Have been enjoying food from here at least 3 times a month for many years. We were very disappointed on Nov. 18, 2020 . The rice was terrible (dry & hard), the vegetables were in very large pieces & mostly onions. The usual staff that we have known were not there. We will be looking for another Chinese restaurant. My wife called and some guy on the phone was so rude about my spicy shrimp combo and spicy curled noodles ,he was yelling how many orders we stated for one person and he just kept yelling then hung up . I started working in Neptune about 5 months ago and I've been looking for a good take out Chinese restaurant; we don't really have one near our home. I've picked up food from Dragon Garden 6 or 7 times now and it's been very good every time. We especially love their garlic sauce. The chicken is always tender, never rubbery or slimy like in some places we've tried. Food is always prepared quickly and still plenty hot when I get it home. Good customer service too. Out of all the Chinese takeout places in the area they are my #2 choice. They really try hard to be #1 and maybe they'll succeed one day. This is normal Chinese takeout fare and I'm still trying to train them that when I order something "spicy" I mean it and I know what I am getting myself in for. Out of the last three attempts to order Szechuan Beef "spicy" only one attempt came through spicy. We gotta work on that. Otherwise I have no complaints about the food or the staff. The lady (don't know her name) who takes the orders is always very friendly and acts glad to see everybody. We order delivery from them about twice to three times a month and they have always been prompt and courteous. Very courteous staff. The location is easy to enter and exit from the highway. Food ordered over the phone or in person is always hot. Never had the impression that the food was old. You can always see someone working hard in the kitchen. The menu is standard Chinese fare for the most part. Shrimp and broccoli is a go to favotite. Nope nope nope. Just picked up my order and witnesses the cook drop a piece of chicken off the tray that he was cooking on, onto the floor, and under the table in the kitchen. What happened next---he kicks the piece of chicken with his foot, picks it up and puts it right back on the tray. That's definitely my last visit there!!!!! read more

This is my favorite chinese place to order at.Also, sometimes the wait is long but it is because it is so popular. I just had the worst experience DO NOT ORDER from Dragon Garden. I called in my order at 5:30 PM. I was told the delivery would take 30 minutes. After 60 minutes I called the restaurant and was told that they were very busy but the food would arrive any minute. After another 15 minutes, I received a phone call from the delivery man, who asked for my address. After going back and forth due to a language barrier, I told the deliveryman I would pick up the food at the restaurant. At this point his English seemed to improve and he stated "I got it I got it". Approximately 15 minutes later...and still no food delivery, I called the restaurant to find out what was happening with my order. The woman that answered the phone apologized, said they were very busy, to please be patient, and that she would call the deliveryman and make sure I would be the first to receive the food delivery. I told her that I did not understand since I ordered over an hour and half ago and assumed I should have been first an hour ago. I asked for the Manager, and was told the Manager was not there and to please be patient. A few minutes later I received yet another phone call from the deliveryman who stated he could not find my address and that I was too far away. I explained to him that I was only 15 minutes away, and tried to give him directions. After going back and forth, he finally arrived with the food. I was so disgusted at this point, I told him I wanted to check the food and make sure it was not cold. The food was "warm" at best, so I did pay for the order, but did not tip him based on the ridiculous amount of time I waited for the delivery. At this point, the delivery man started screaming at me in a threatening manner, yelling "NO TIP NO TIP..and something in Chinese that I did not understand. He actually tried to enter my house, and only left when I told him I was calling the police. In all my years I have never experienced such a long wait for delivery and then threatened by the delivery person. If you want to wait an close to 2 hours for Chinese food, then be threatened and cursed out in Chinese, then by all means place an order! read more

Rude Rude Rude! I know Chinese restaurants tend to be a little rude but these owners take the cake! When my husband asked for extra hot mustard with his meal the woman made a face at him then yelled out "you need extra hit mustard!!!" Like what do they cost them 2 cents per pack? Don't make someone feel bad about wanting extra sauce, especially when they're paying customers. Secondly there food is very bland and has 2 day old left over taste to it. I believe that they recycle their food because it is not fresh at all. In addition I ordered chicken wings one late night after work because they were the only place opened. When I went in to pay with my debit card the woman scolded me that I needed to order 40 cents more if food to use my debit card. Like really 40 cents more? How can you be do money hungry. I did not want to order more food so the lady proceeded to put my already cooked chicken wings back in the refrigerator next to the register. So disgusting! Horrible customer service. How could you resell those chicken wings to another customer after they had already been cooked twice and put back?? Not only are they rude, but they obviously don't give a crap about their customers if they're selling old food! Do not give these people your money! They're racist towards Americans and they sell old crap food! Order down the road from Tung Hing on Asbury ave. They're the best around and they leave the sauces out for you so you can take as many as you want. I go where my money is appreciated and where my stomach is satisfied. read more
