Ordered two lunch specials that were promptly prepared. One shrimp with broccoli and pork lo mein. A little salty and saucy. But the shrimp were large and tender. One tofu and mixed vegetables over white rice. The veggies were fresh and delicious. Egg roll was perfectly crispy and hot. The Hot and sour soup was delicious, packed with tofu and mushrooms. I think this is my second time here. Some Chinese places not open on Tuesdays for some reason. This one was open and thought I'd give it another go. Nice family dinner business can tell by the kids eagerly helping out. The prices are very reasonable and the food is cooked relatively quickly depending on how busy. It was doing a brisk takeout that evening. There are some tables to eat there if need be. It's located in a small strip plaza behind 7-Eleven. The food was pretty decent for what it was. Still on the hunt for a flavorful Chinese place but this one did the job in a pinch. I think I'll give it more visits. read more

Food was delivered quickly and still hot. I had roast pork with vegetables. No shortage of meat. The egg roll.was crispy and had lots of flavor. Only draw back is minimum delivery charge is $20. For one person for lunch, that's impossible. read more

Years ago,(it may have been a different name/owner), around 98, I tried this place for lunch, and didn't care for it very much, but when I moved just down the street, in 2005, I tried them for delivery, and had been happy with them many times. I did have some other favs. around the LB. area, and had been ordering from them, but sadly they had really been running down hill of late. I'm a huge fan of General Tso's and sesame chicken, and lately the chicken has not tasted like any chicken I have ever had. Would compare it to what I think styrofoam packaging peanuts sauteed in Chinese sauce would taste like.(note, not referring to to Golden Sun). I decided over the weekend to try GS, again and was more than happy with them as I once had been before. Great Hot and Sour soup. Shrimp rolls are still big, and not too greasy and of coarse, General's chicken was actually really chicken! Delivery was fast and friendly, and the prices are still pretty much what they were years ago. Cheaper than most and better quality. Probably deserves better than three stars, but I'm conservative with my four and five star ratings. 3.5. I posted on FB. my missing good Chinese cuisine and was given some recommendations I may try, but don't worry.......will definitely order from here again soon! read more

We just ordered and ate the most delicious Chinese food we ever had! A nice touch too is the included a free order of Thai Chicken dumplings which were amazing! After a recent incident involving a Chinese take out joint back home, I was reluctant to eat Chinese again. 11PM, over here, there is not much around, so we ended up getting a few things to go. Chicken and Broccoli was drier than the desert. The sauce was barely clinging to the chicken and broccoli and the chicken was not a high grade. The plain fried rice was bland and not hot (even though I did see them cook it to order). Odd. They did not know what Kung Pao Chicken was, so I just ordered General Tso's and it was way too sweet. I don't know what other Chinese places are around here, but it would be a sad day if this was all. Yet another reason to just stop eating at these places. Parking lot in front. read more

I have been eating here since I was a kid, and the one thing I love the most about these guys is that no matte when you show up they are about business and ready to serve you. On more than one occasion I have arrived a min before closing, or later and they always are more than willing to make me whatever I want. Kudos to you for never quitting on me. The food is always good, one of the best Chinese Restaurants around. They are definitely in my top two in Monmouth county. It's great delivery food at competitive delivery pricing. I think they forgot something years ago ... but they brought it and treats for our trouble. I ate here for the first time tonite after living here for 25 plus years lmao! It's my loss! This place was great! They were quick, they made my pepper steak exactly how I asked them to, which almost never happens and it was super cheap considering the size of the combo, I got an egg roll, something to drink and they delivered it to me! If it should survive the night (it's still early!) then I've got lunch tomorrow too! Lol I highly recommend!! read more

On Sunday night (1/24/2016), we decided to order takeout from golden sun after reading many good reviews from yelp. Probably the best decision made during this crazy snow storm. Like many other yelpers who recommended the general tsao chicken, we ordered the dinner portion with pork fried rice. Delicious I must say!!!!!! Although ratio of pork in the fried rice wasn't up to par and could have been a touch better, the general tsao chicken made up for the minuscule error. The chicken wings were made to order. I love love my wings extra crispy and they indeed delivered!!!!! We also ordered chicken with mix vegetables in brown sauce. It was one of the best I have had from a take out Chinese place. Ratio of chicken to vegetables were well balanced. Enough chicken and assorted vegetables!!!!! They nailed it!!!!! On the side of the two dinner meals, it came with and egg roll and hot and sour soup. Although the soup was a touch thick, it was flavorful and was filled with enough mushrooms, bamboo, tofu, and pork compared to the one I had from pf Chang!!!!! (Pictures will show how thick it was) if the soup was a bit more "liquidy", I'm certain that it will be delicious!!!!!! Overall my call in experience was pleasant and professional. The lady was very helpful and explained my questions clearly. She took her time to take my order and made sure I knew where her restaurant was located. She didn't brushed me off the phone and made me feel like she appreciated my business. Most importantly, SHE SPOKE FULL ON PROPER ENGLISH!!!!!! (I'm not one to judge other how they speak English for it is not my native tongue, but the lady spoke clearly and calmly.) We order from here frequently, but today I got a very bad surprise in my shrimp and broccoli. A jet black hair in my food. My hair is blondish brown so I know it wasn't mine or anyone else in my family. Thank god I was scooping it into a plate and not eating out of the container.
