The tea selection is amazing, with so many options to choose from. The beautiful tea china adds such a charming touch, and the sandwiches and desserts, plus fresh fruits, were delicious and beautifully made. We were so full and satisfied afterward! The service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely, peaceful, and relaxing. Definitely a wonderful place to slow down, enjoy a cup of tea, and spend a relaxing afternoon.

That means we dressed for that time. And we also shared little known facts about the Titanic and it's sinking. I learned a lot. The tea my husband and I shared in one of Mia's "bottomless" tea pots was exquisite: Apricot black tea. I now have a new addiction and did not leave without buying a bag of Apricot tea leaves! BTW: It's delicious cold as well. My salad was topped with Mua's delicious Coronation (curried) chicken salad. Three is us at our table for 4 had that and loved it. Our fourth chose the apple and walnut chicken salad. He said it was excellent. I could swear the moaning sound I heard was him. Mua, you scored again! Everyone had an absolutely wonderful time and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

I wouldn't say it was…read morea "secret" because the private pools were definitely being utilized and there were a couple people at the communal pool, but in no way did it feel crowded, or busy. In fact, in view of the space being utilized, it felt magically private. I visit Ashland a few times a year, and stumbled on to this website by chance. I wanted to do something that was peaceful and relaxing. I was unsure about a hot soak in the middle of summer, but this was such a great experience. The private pools looked great, but we felt really comfortable in the communal space. We soaked in the hot pool. In the heat of mid-summer, the "cold" pool was warm, but a lovely contrast to the warm water of the soaking pool. In fact, when the evening breeze kicked up, it was a really great place to sit. You also have the option of the dry sauna, or steam room. So, it was a great option of "what kind of relaxation do I want now?" After we were done, we went to the lounge for some quick bites, which proved to be a perfect light dinner, with a nice, small, but cultivated beverage collection. The staff were so helpful and pleasant during our time. I will for sure factor in an extra day on my trips to Ashland just to find my Zen and my center in this amazing place.

The only issue was the cold pool was not cold at all--not even cool. It was warm so not much reprieve from the hot tub. Our massages were great and we were able to get different styles/pressures depending on our preference. The light lunch afterward was delicious and fit right into my Japanese memories.

The patio/courtyard is quiet, away from traffic noise. Goodbean Coffee is excellent (more to my taste than Noble!) Most baked goods are gluten free. Dogs welcome in the courtyard. Downsides: hours may be erratic due to staffing shortages, so calling ahead may be advisable. The courtyard landscaping could use some clean up and sprucing up.

The ambiance alone is great for spending time with your bookstore purchases. The service was friendly and quick. It was just the one guy when we were there, making coffees and running into the kitchen to make food. But it didn't take long to get our order. The kids had a steamer and a hot cocoa. They were a little warm for immediate drinking so maybe specify if you want your beverage less than normal hot for kids. The cocoa also had a bit of a cinnamon flavor to it. I thought it was delicious, but if you have a purist cocoa drinker in your party, again, ask! The adults drank drip coffee. It was tasty too! If you are staying in, you will get a ceramic mug, so if you want a paper cup let your barista know. The big win for me was the menu of gluten free pastries! They had regular glutinous things like burritos and quiche that looked tasty but the gluten free!!!! They partner with a bakery in town (sisters sans gluten) to have a variety of offerings. I had a poppyseed muffin, but they had other breads and muffins that all looked good. The offerings change, but I was so excited to see gf options at all. Highly recommend this spot! Also!!! They open at 9 with the bookstore, which is a full hour before the other shops on Main Street. Start your day here. You won't be sorry.
