On the charming patio sipping my afternoon espresso
    Tammy S.

After lunch I needed my afternoon espresso and this place was recommended as other coffee shops were closed. It is above the bookstore and has a charming outdoor patio with shrubs, trees and shade. They didn't have a cortado but I asked for espresso with a little milk over ice and it was robust and smooth. Just what I wanted. The staff is friendly and they also serve wine.

Super cute little cafe in the top floor of a book shop with indoor and outdoor seating! I ordered a mocha with oat milk and the masala breakfast burrito. They were both yummy, but the mocha wasn't super chocolatey in my opinion, and I think the burrito was missing something, maybe a sauce on the inside. However the seasoned potatoes in it were delicious! Overall a super good experience!

Such a delightful spot. I sat on the back patio. The temperature was perfect. The owner, Dharmendra, made delicious Italian sausage soup. I ate it with an oat milk latte while I read and wrote for hours. So welcoming! I will return.

Best real cappuccino in town. Delicious gluten free pastries, snacks, brunch. Local art, relaxed vibe.

The fluffiest omelette I have ever eaten.

Such a great little place! The quiche was perfection! The chef, Carlos, is a talented and creative artist with a great instinct for tantalizing flavor profiles. The service is friendly and warm! I know I have found a gem when locals are greeted by name and newbies return the next day as welcomed friends. The beautiful dining area and shaded patio provide an inviting oasis from the bustle of the day. I always make a point to visit whenever I am in Ashland!

A secret garden cafe and a bookstore downstairs. Only 1/2 a block from the Ashland Springs Hotel. They have sandwiches, quiche, and a featured salad plus coffee drinks and pastries for breakfast or an afternoon break. Casual and inexpensive. Music events in the evening. My husband loved the Chile Relleno quiche and I had the quinoa salad which was fresh and delicious. Day two we returned for cappuccino and pastries. On our list for when we return to Ashland.

We got here just before they closed. Cute set up, beautiful outdoor patio seating area. The owner was extremely cool. I'm visiting from out of town, but I'd come back here again for the bookstore coffeehouse ambiance.

Driving down from Portland to San Francisco Ashland is a good place to stop after 230 miles and the Bloomsbury Blends Cafe is a great place to stop for lunch!!! The 5 minutes it takes from the freeway is WELL worth the time compared to eating lunch at a truck stop or gas station. The Sausage Quiche is not just the best gluten free quiche I've eaten, it's the best quiche I've eaten, ever! The service is great, the food is great and the ambiance is amazing the garden patio out the back is a fantastic place to enjoy the tasty food with serenity and tranquility!

    Fountain sounds are therapeutic.

Ah Ashland. Love this little town. Located on the second floor of a bookstore, you can also access this cafe street level by taking the back parking lot route. They have a lovely back patio area with fountain. Seating inside is comfy and there is free WiFi. Wish I had more time to spend here, but our pit stop at this spot came in handy.

Sorry, just trying to describe the maze of hallways, stairs, chandeliers, oil paintings, and overly proper decor that you have to navigate to get there. I'm not sure what all that real estate is used for because only a small part of it was the active restaurant. Just keep following the signs. Once arrived, there's a beautiful view of the vineyard, nice cover from the sun, live music, and a pretty extensive dinner menu. This isn't some flimsy "light refreshments" affair. We opened a bottle of one of their blended wines. I don't know much about wine tasting beyond copying how my neighbor swirls the glass, mumbling about "tannins," and sensing a definite tone of "old books and leather." Long story short, the wine was pretty good! For dinner, we got an assortment of foods. Everything was serviceable but not terribly memorable. The steak was the highlight dish and melded beautifully with the sauce and sides. The service was more hands off, but attentive to our needs. This is a solid 4 star spot that I'll definitely revisit as a local. Great meeting spot to bring friends and family to enjoy outdoor dining and delicious wines.

Also had the happy hour fried chicken and hh burger, as well as the scallops off of the main menu. The burger was thick and juicy. My kids and husband said the fries were some of the best they've had-crispy exterior and soft interior. Fried chicken had a light crispy coating on the outside and the honey Aleppo mixture was great, though son said it could've used a little more salt. My scallops were some of the best scallops I've ever had before--so well cooked and perfectly seasoned and with these thinly sliced snap peas that were just barely blanched that added texture and freshness to the dish. Our table was in their patio space, which I actually like better than the indoor part of the restaurant. The patio space feels very open and has a lot of live plants in the planters that make space between tables. It was a little warm on the patio since it was 98 degrees outside, but they keep it relatively cool on this mostly enclosed patio. Our server was great. She was so friendly and fun to talk to. She helped us figure out what we wanted to order and checked in on us just the right amount. You can tell the food here is very fresh and homemade. We started with the Deviled Eggs, which are really special. I love how they serve them over a bed of crushed up potato chips as they give this dish some salty crunch. Next we had the Beet salad, which is marinated beets over a whipped cheese. The beets do have a strong vinegar flavor, but it's balanced out beautifully by the cheese. My wife ordered the Mushroom Bolognese, which was probably the best dish of the evening. This is an incredible, vegetarian dish that is so meaty without any meat. The finely diced mushroom sauce is so good along with the handmade noodles. Also, adding burrata to it gives it a perfect creaminess. I ordered the pork chop, which was also excellent and enormous. It did take me a lot longer to eat since it was a little hard to cut, the compote on top added a great sweetness, but I feel like it could've used more. Also, the polenta and grilled asparagus was awesome. Lastly, we got the Rice Pudding for dessert. It comes with a hazelnut crumble and a dolce de leche sauce. Normally, I feel like rice pudding has a kind of thin, milky consistency, but not this. It is think and has a wonderful texture. It is probably the best rice pudding I've ever had. The nuts give a satisfying crunch and the dolce de leche sauce is light and sweet. Disclaimer: we did order one dish we really didn't like. It was a special salad with endives and lentils. The server was happy to get us another dish.
