Good Chinese Food in Canoga Park. Had a craving for Chinese food and found this place on Yelp. Have passed by this place so many times, but never stopped. Ordered our food inside the location, this place only has take out, no seats available to eat inside. It's set up with tables across the restaurant entrance for you to look at menu's and pick up your food. It was a quick order process and easy to place our order. We got B.B.Q. Pork Chow Mein and the Spicy Salt Pork Chops. This came with a container of rice included with the meal. Both entrees were flavorful and nice portions. Dragon King -- Most Underrated Chinese Spot This place is criminally underrated. The portions are HUGE and the flavor is on point. Honestly, better than Panda any day. I've tried a lot of Chinese spots in the area and Dragon King always comes out on top, especially for their chow mein, orange chicken, and beef & broccoli. Everything is fresh, well-seasoned, and served in portions big enough to feed you for at least two meals. Its been many years since last time I came here. Sunday evening about 5 pm, I'm hungry but don't feel like to cook. Decided to walk in and order my 2 favorite items from this place 1. Fried Pork Chop with spicy salt (well done) 2. Orange Chicken (well done) About 10 minutes wait. My order was ready soon. They included a big box of steamed rice. Cost me about 30 something plus tax and tips. Its so good! As good as I remembered My pork chops were crispy and yummy! The orange chicken were crispy, sweet, tangy with a hint of spiciness Not everyone would like well done meat like I do and kinda dryer rice like what they provided. Especially if they have a lot of orders for fried rice. Mushy rice won't make good fried rice. For me, dryer rice is better than softer one. I'm a Chinese food connoisseur so when I give a rating on Chinese food, it's because I'm a chef to begin with, and I love Chinese food. The food isn't bad some dishes are way better than others. The prices are a bit steep comparative to the quality of food they serve. I've been here several times only because there's not too many good Chinese restaurants in Woodland Hills so I have to settle with average edible Chinese food. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Woodland Hills closed..... that's a bummer. You can't go wrong with wonton soup, barbecue pork and shrimp fried rice, Mongolian beef. I usually order salt and pepper shrimp as well. I will admit, the portions are fairly big so don't order more than you think you can eat. While the Mongolian Beef and Orange Chicken were undeniably flavorful and enjoyable (8/10), the dishes were unfortunately disproportionate in their protein content. This place is only for take out or delivery. There's no seating area. Chairs and booths are stacked on top of each other. They should let people know that they only accept take out orders. Hate to leave a bad review but when you serve burnt food I have to do it! Chicken Chow Mien! Simple right? Noodles & chicken and mind you it was not cheap! But burnt noodles and like 6 small pieces of chicken for $16?! Ugh never again. I really should have taken it back but come on lady you know you burnt the noodles and still served it. Disappointed! finally tried this mom and pop shop located in a very small plaza on Vanowen street. Usually these small mom and pop shops are one of these hidden gems you wouldn't even think twice about. But, in this case, think twice before going. Food: it was sub par. We ordered beef sticks (not good at all, tasteless, not what we were expecting), chicken wings--good because it's so crispy but it felt like they used old oil because I could taste it, I couldn't eat more than 1. black pepper beef (not great, if you're a fan of a lot of peppers and onions, go for it, it just tasted way too peppery) also ordered the bok choy and mushroom (typical everywhere nothing special just needed some veggies). The only things I liked was the crispy noodles (got the combo one) it's decent. My husband liked their beef fried rice, I mean can't go wrong with that. Service: we ordered online and when we arrived there everything was ready. Everything was made to order because when we arrived home, everything was still sizzling hot. The place is clean and well lid. Staff are friendly and courteous. Their dishes are do delicious after the Covid they care the safety of their customers most of their order are to go. Which is a good idea for me. We all are hoping this Covid should be put to an end soon. Only pharmaceutical companies are trying to make huge profits same with some of our politicians. read more

Terrible experience on Christmas Eve. I called at 1:30 PM to place an order to be ready at 5 PM. Arrived just before 5 PM. and at 5:30 I asked when my order was gonna be done and I showed them the list of nine items that I ordered and they said it would be around 40 more minutes. I asked why I needed to wait with the other 20 people over there when I called it in at 1:30 and they answered me we thought you wanted us to prepare it start preparing your order at 5 o'clock. Your orders are made fresh so expect a little wait time. My chow mein was so delicious. It was a huge portion too. The flavor of it was amazing. We had been here a few times and it is always consistent. We had ordered a lot of food for take out and it is inexpensive but you get a lot of food. We had ordered like 6-7 items as well as appetizers, and it is very good and filling. Traditional dishes like Fried Rice and Chow mein are tasty, but other items like Pot stickers and Orange Chicken and Broccoli Beef are on point. The place is in a non-descript strip mall but very low key. Only take out is allowed and no indoor seating. My go to place for Chinese food and very priced portioned items and a lot of bang for your buck. read more

Unfortunately you cannot dine inside the restaurant, You have to take everything to go so that is the only thing negative. I could say about this place. I would definitely recommend trying the Mongolian beef, Kung pow chicken but the star of the show to the honey walnut shrimp it was delicious. My favorite thing from here was the shrimp egg foo young and they're no longer serving it . I always enjoy the food at this location. First you need to try their Assorted Appetizers which includes 2 egg rolls, 2 fried shrimp, and 2 paper wrapped chicken. The flavors are delicious and will satisfy your craving. The Half Roasted duck is also delicious and a must try. One of my other favorites is their Black Pepper Beef which is Beef sauteed with mushroom, green bell pepper and onion in black pepper sauce. Mild and spicy. I've ordered here twice base on the good reviews and I was let down twice. The fried/breaded dishes (orange chicken, orange beef) have so little meat in them that all you get is stringy, chewy pieces that won't even break down after chewing for minutes on end. There's hardly any meat in the bites. The non-fried dishes are mostly cheap vegetables. The cashew chicken was all celery and water chestnuts. I counted 6 cashews and a handful of chicken. For $17 it felt like I got $4 worth of meat and $1.50 worth of veggies. If the dish was $10 maybe it would be worth it if you like celery but how they justify $17-18 is crazy. The amount of beef in the orange beef couldn't have been more than $4 worth. It so thin and pounded out all you get is fried part. The flavors themselves are fine. But this felt like a rip off the first time. Gave them another chance and I'm afraid it was worse the second time. I would not recommend if you are looking for value. read more

I ordered Mongolian beef which came with a side of rice for about 15$ serving was generous and lasted me 2 meals I also got a cup of soup for about 3$ food took about 10 minutes and was truly delicious I will definitely be back! Called to order take out - the guy who was taking our order had us on speaker and had to have been 10 feet away from the phone. Repeatedly (like 4 times) had to say what we wanted. Which was a large order. Called back to give my CC # and they couldn't find my order. My son had already left to pick it up and they wouldn't take my #. I asked if they had tap and was told yes. Not only did my sons not work his GF's didn't work - so now I have to drive over in this holiday mall traffic with a physical card. On top of all that - they missed two of the items we ordered. When I think of good Chinese food, I think of Dragon King ....MMM YUM. If you think of Panda Express, when you think of good Chinese food-I'll think you're gross (KIDDING!). For $8.95 I got the Sauteed String Bean Lunch Special. The lunch special comes with a choice of egg flour or hot & sour soup, steamed or fried rice and an egg roll. I chose the egg flour soup and fried rice. Soo good. Large portion sizes (for me). I ordered on Yelp (fulfilled by Grubhub), picked up my order and it was ready as scheduled. I've previously dined in a couple times and the restaurant ambiance isn't something special to write about, but the service is always nice and the restaurant clean. My personal favorites: Sauteed String Beans, Fish Fillet with Spicy Salt, Yu Hsiong Eggplant and Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp ....I'm salivating thinking of this!
