This place is amazing for tattoos, and shopping. I have gotten three tattoos done here and all three are exactly what I wanted. Both Josh and Jesse are amazing artists and are more than happy to help you get the exact tattoo you're wanting, they'll create casual conversation while you're getting tatted and they make you feel like you've known them for years, they are both super kind and awesome at what they do. On the shop end, Starr is super kind and will always have a nice conversation with you, she tells you about the items they sell and where they get them. The store has an amazing layout and it feels like you can really see everything they have to offer. Store owner Starr's merchandise consisting of an eclectic and varied selection of knick-knacks, curios, gifts and more never disappoints me. Her shop is a bit small but its packed and will probably have what you want. And if Starr doesn't have what it she'll try real hard to find it for you. But Dragon Tree is more! Next door is tattoo artist extraordinaire Josh Webb. His experience is extensive in so many styles; classic, geometric, 3D, portraiture, bio-mechanical, surrealism... Get the idea! I came in off the street, with nothing in mind but giving a wave to the lady at the jewelry counter, as I had a few times throughout the years on my visits to yellow springs, and by the time I'd left, I did it feeling like I'd made some good friends. This treatment was not unique to me either, Artist Josh Webb confiding that he typically prefers to create tattoos that "make people happy," for an EXTREMELY reasonable price. The seats were comfortable, everything was sanitary, and I found the aftercare to be up to my own standards, and the general atmosphere kept me entertained throughout the three hour process of receiving my tattoo. I got a tattoo done by Austin and I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. I think as in town working and my brother passed away while I was up there. I sent Austin a photo of what I wanted. He recommended a couple of changes, which I agreed with. He took his time even though it was getting late and everyone else in the shop had left for the day. I highly recommend dropping by and seeing this young man if you're looking to get some ink done. He was very professional and standup guy. Dragon Tree is definitely the place to go when in Yellow springs for a tatoo. The shop owner Star is super sweet and very helpful. I got a new tatoo and an old tatoo. Jesse did them both and they came out perfectly. I needed an additional heart on my tatoo and Jesse was super sweet, he just drew it right in. He made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the tatoo. His brother Josh is super talented as well. You can't go wrong with either brother! I'll be back in September for another for sure. Dragon Tree was an awesome place to visit! It was easy to find and the aesthetic of the place was very nice and welcoming. The shop was full of neat clothing, artwork, and many nicknacks. There is definitely something for anyone in there. Star, the shop owner, was very knowledgeable about the items in her store. There was a story behind every item. I got a tattoo during my visit by Josh. He did an awesome job! I am very happy with the result and would highly recommend to go to him. I just got my first ever tattoo done here today by Rico, and I have to rate the whole experience a 5/5! He worked with me to make sure everything was spelled correctly, lined up perfectly with my posture, and was written in a font which I preferred! He talked with us the whole time like a friend would, and it was a super fun, chill time over all, I didn't feel nervous or uncomfortable once. Even better are the prices! Josh Webb did an amazing job on my daughter and I's Mother/Daughter tattoos! We literally just brought him an idea and he recommended a Lotus and even added a watercolor paint splash to match the other tattoo he did for me! (which you can also in see the pics in this review) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop. Josh is an amazing artist and Star always greets you with a smile! The service is horrible.The place is shabby. The employees and owners were outside gossiping and smoking cigarettes. Also- the owner is super rude about who can park where in the parking lot. my best friend and i came to yellow springs today and had such an amazing time here! we didn't plan on getting any tattoos but Star and Rico told us they had openings available for $80 flash tattoo walk-ins and they easily became some of our favorite tattoos! Star is an absolute angel. They got us in right away and the tattoos turned out beautifully. Their store is so cute and they have such a cool selection of clothes and even some fossils.
