It was close to Christmas so I decided if I found something it would be great for a gift. I barely got noticed in the store and when I finally chose something I went to checkout. The woman was pregnant she made no acknowledgment of me, she put the merch in a box not giving me a bag and shoved the box toward me no thank you, come back and see us nothing. I walked out thought about how rude she was to and wish that I had declined the merchandise. I could tell I was not welcome there and every time I see the commercial I have a bad feeling. I love specialty shops but that one shop I will never shop in again. I felt discriminated against and it didn't matter whether I could afford it or not. I have experienced such negativity from a merchant in some time.

Dont' get me wrong, I like hand-made cards as much as the next cat, but no one seems to know me like Fresh Ink (a line carried by most Hallmark's) knows me. Emotionally. Comedically. I would secretely love to meet the team of writers who come up with their witty and ridiculous cards. The last time I went in, I had a panic attack thinking they had limited their Fresh Ink selection, but calmed down when I found the rest on the bottom shelf. Three cards will run you around $8, though that doesn't include their oversized cards, ones with sound and the highly embellished ones. If you're looking for a deal, the back right corner of the store has clearance from 25-90% off. I've found thank you notes, mugs and beautiful photo frames for excellent prices on these wonderful shelves. To round out a pretty awesome store, the staff at this location is always friendly and happy to help me. Everyone loves getting mail. Several years later I was informed that the replacement lights were no longer available which left me with the decision of having my tree restrung with new lights or buy a whole new tree. I was not happy with the attitude and service from where I bought the tree so I went to Ambrose. The restrung my tree with many more lights then it originally came with and it looks amazing. Best of all, after three years I have had to replace only two lights-that's two lights total after three years compared to replacing dozen(s) of lights each year from the garden center. Do yourself a favor and go to the pros first. You will save money in the long run.

The store is very cute. It is very easy to pass by because it is in a residential area. There are no other businesses around it and the signage is pretty subtle. There are minimal amounts of vintage items. There are lots of items you can find in other stores in Geneva, etc. There did seem to be an abundance of beachy items which I didn't expect in a place called Urban Farmgirl. If you are thinking that you will be checking out lots of vintage items or updated vintage items, that isn't the case. There is some of this, but mostly new items. It's a very cute store and worth a browse.
