About one year and a half ago I was leaving an appointment and decided to stop in this store I'd heard advertised on TV. It was close to Christmas so I decided if I found something it would be great for a gift. I barely got noticed in the store and when I finally chose something I went to checkout. The woman was pregnant she made no acknowledgment of me, she put the merch in a box not giving me a bag and shoved the box toward me no thank you, come back and see us nothing. I walked out thought about how rude she was to and wish that I had declined the merchandise. I could tell I was not welcome there and every time I see the commercial I have a bad feeling. I love specialty shops but that one shop I will never shop in again. I felt discriminated against and it didn't matter whether I could afford it or not. I have experienced such negativity from a merchant in some time. read more

My first and last visit to this store. The store is beautiful and stocked with pretty items. However, the staff needs to learn the craft of customer service. The woman who was "helping" me was kurt, impatient, rude. I purchased 2 items, hand soap and shower steamer for a gift. Grand total $61.45. Sure wish Crimson Ridge was still around. read more

This is another go-to shop for gifts in Rockford. Always nicely staged and inviting when you go, helpful sales staff. I think I have always walked out of the store with a purchase of some kind. Have not been disappointed in their service or quality of product. In fact, I was there last night and loved the earrings one of the staff was wearing. She bought them there but they no longer carry the line because the quality had gone down. To me, that says the buyers care about what kind of quality they stock on their shelves. Bought a Lizzy James bracelet, Peepers glasses, Christmas ornament and a coaster that made me laugh out loud. Great little shop! read more

I visited Porch in November 2014 (Black Friday) while visiting family over Thanksgiving. The shop was well-stocked and nicely laid out. Owners were present, working behind the counter along with other help; everyone was cheerful and helpful, and endlessly patient with all the customers. We took our time shopping; the store was busy, but all of the workers were professional and happy in their work. The merchandise was fun, tasteful, and unique. I bought several items I have not seen elsewhere. We spent this Holiday season at home in Annapolis, MD and missed visiting Porch for Holiday decor. I am hoping to get back again next time I'm in the midwest; it worth the trip. My only complaint: I wish they had a website. I'd sure shop their site regularly! read more

A wonderful store - with unique gifts, home accessories and chic clothing for the holidays, babies, friends, and family - in all kinds of price ranges. Everything is artfully displayed, owner and staff are very friendly and helpful - and their gift wrapping is beautiful. Even this close to Christmas, there were loads of choices - and nothing looked picked over as so many stores do this time of year. Although pricey, I have made several gift purchases from this store. The store is clean, displays are cared for, and the products are somewhat unique. However, I have seen some of their items at discount retail stores. Recently I made my absolute last purchase here. Each time I go in I find the owner to be somewhat unfriendly and sarcastic. It is as if you are putting her out to wait on you. She was more concerned with her displays than waiting on her customers. At the time there were 5 potential customers in the store and she was too busy talking on the phone and unpacking merchandise. Sorry Porch, there are just friendlier places in Rockford to spend one's hard earned dollars. read more

I visited Porch last year after reading a review. I was delighted and surprised by such a neat store. The staff is VERY NICE and the selection of items isn't like anything you'd find in a big-name store. I purchased a really pretty oil-filled cylindrical vase candle. Sounds weird, but I thought it would make a beautiful gift. Inside the clear oil, were pretty little branches and a wooden bird. They have sales and you can sign up for their e-mail alerts. This is a pricey store, but worth the visit if you're looking for something out of the ordinary and beautiful. read more
