The aesthetic is on point and everything is carefully curated - love the selection of cards they have, as well as food items and health/beauty/random gifts. Their hours are also nice - we were looking for coffee after skiing all day and was nice they were still open at 4PM to grab a coffee. The latte as always was excellent and my friend liked her cappuccino as well!

Definitely a top-tier specialty coffee shop and gift store. They serve Corvus coffee, a renowned…read morecoffee roaster out of Denver. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are knowledgeable about the coffee they sell. We tried the Iced Nitro coffee, Ice flash coffee, Golden Milk and Santo Palo latte. All the drinks were excellent. We especially liked the Nitro and Flash brewed coffee. The profile was rich, full body and balanced; very refreshing and drinkable. The Nitro was, of course, a bolder, richer flavor of the two. They were some of the best iced coffees I've tasted. The shop offers many varieties of whole bean, single origin and blended coffees from Corvus Rosters; which they will gladly grind for you. They also have lots of specialty food, body products, and gift items for sale along with a vinyl record section. For excellent coffee, friendly service and a nice shop to browse while waiting for your drinks, Howl Mercantile is awesome. They also have a few tables indoors and outside.

I would like to start by saying there are some good pieces here, and the owner seems to have a…read morepositive public facing image, but privately, it is my opinion that she might not be the most gracious business person. I went in there a few weeks ago and showed her a picture of a guitar that my Ukrainian girlfriend's daughter had designed. I told her that I didn't exactly know what to do with it, and had no experience selling , and she said she did and she would be happy to bring it in. She also said that when she retired, she had hoped to do something similar in terms of designing and selling guitars. I explained to her that The Artist was a 16-year-old refugee, and has designed guitars as well as doing visual art and learning music. It seemed as if she was excited to bring the guitar and showcase it. Several weeks later when she called me back, she acted as if she had no clue what the plan with the guitar was. She did not remember any of the particulars of the conversation, told me that there must be contracts involved, and she would not generally sell items unless they had a collection of them. This information would have been very helpful upfront, because I left it in Colorado instead of bringing it back to Kansas City with me where I would be able to seek other sellers. So, it will now be months before I will get the guitar back, and her bubbly presentation of utilizing her shop to sell the guitar seemed to be nothing but lip service. I've seen people like this plenty of times where they have a public smile, but are privately quite different. Very ashamed of the way I felt after this experience with Nikki, and I will definitely not be revisiting the shop.
