I used to go to studios on Melrose & Ventura…read moreexclusively but wanted something closer to the west side and this has been the perfect spot! Truly one of the most welcoming studios I've ever been to as well - it's the fastest I've made new dance friends at a studio before and the staff is so nice. They film the end of every class which is great, and sometimes they'll even bring in professional videographers for certain classes or pop ups. I typically go to Jingle's jazz funk and heels classes but have branched out recently to Kpop and other instructors and have always had a good experience.

I signed up online via a link from their Instagram and the website was pretty user friendly and I was able to get registered for the class I wanted. No sweat. Looking for parking can be tough as it's street parking only, so I came a bit early to ensure I was able to get a spot. Walking in, the interior was pretty cozy and it was smaller compared to other studios I've been to in LA, but not a bad thing at all! The person working the front greeted me and I told her it was my first time so she gave me a rundown of how the studio works. I appreciate the great customer service! They have a full front mirror, cubbies to store your belongings, a clean bathroom, and an ipad up front to sign in. The class was comfortable since there were people of different dance levels so it's not intimidating. I also liked that it wasn't crowded. The classes usually last for 1 hour and 30 min. I would definitely take a class here again in the future.

She came up with our routine on the spot and tailored it perfectly to our vibe and skill level. Her teaching style is clear, encouraging, and so supportive - even through all our mistakes, she was patient and upbeat. Sindy has years of experience, and it shows in the way she breaks down each move and makes the whole process enjoyable. Thanks to her, our first dance turned out so graceful and smooth - and it was to a fun, upbeat song that she helped us bring to life beautifully. It felt like us, and we got so many compliments. We couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Sindy is truly the best - kind, professional, and completely dedicated to helping her couples shine. As any parent knows, sometime things happen, and my daughter got a cold, so off course I didn't took her to attend her class. However, when I email to try to schedule a MAKE UP CLASS, they said it the only availability was the Saturday class at 9am and parent participation on that class was mandatory!! I didn't understand why I had to participate on that class since I don't have to participate on the classes that she actually takes it, Also I tried to explain that I have a 14 month old boy and would be impossible for me to do any participation at that class since I have to watch my son as well!! Later I found it, that the makeup class they were offering was a toddler class, Ballet/Tap 2 to 3 years old. WHAT A JOKE!!! My daughter is 5 going on almost 6 years old, and they want her to dance with 2 years old???? Also they want to obligate me to participate in the class? they want to make me pay for my 14 month old BOY, to do ballet-Tap dance on that day so my daughter could do the class which was not at all the class that I have paid the tuition for!!! Let me give you an example, if you miss a math class on 6 grade but the school offer you a make up class math from third grade??? Is that make sense??? Get my point ? Well they didn't !!!! when I called and tried to explain this, the UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE from this facility was extremely rude, didn't even let me talk, and hang up the phone on my face!!!! FOR WHAT??? So I kept calling, and they completely tried to reverse the whole situation, saying that I was the rude one and that the made a decision to cancel my daughter our contract ( which I'm glad!!!! ) but it wasn't fair, first because how I CAN BE RUDE, IF YOUR EMPLOYEE DIDNT EVEN LET ME EXPLAIN WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY!???? instead she just kept yelling on the phone, shutting me off and just repeating THIS IS THE "POLICY" !!! Literally not letting me talk at all, and like a child having a tantrum she choose to hang up the phone on my face!!!! I was chocked!!!! An hour later they wrote that I "violate their POLICY," and I was treating their employee what A LIE!!!! The Main reason why I'm writing this review is to ALLERT any person that is thinking of signing up they children to this facility, they wrote on they their email the stand up for their employees . Well I STAND UP FOR PARENTS, like me that don't deserve to be treated this way and don't want my child to be surround of this kind of people that works on your studio!!! ATTENTION PARENTS: BE CAUTIOUS BEFORE SIGNING YOUR CHILD HERE FOR CLASSES, keep in mind , if your kid gets a cold and you keep your child home to prevent others from getting sick, when you tried to get the make up class they will offer you a "BABY CLASS" regardless your child age and if you complain they will treat you like trash!!! LOS ANGELES IS FULL OF GREAT DANCE STUDIOS with nice, kind people !! Some things happens for a reason and the only positive out of all of this is that my FAMILY WONT BE NEAR THIS PLACE EVER again!!! Do yourself a favor and research their POLICY THAT ONLY BENEFIT THEMSELVES BEFORE WAISTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!

Can I come back?!" We signed up for ongoing classes on our way out. The teachers are all so patient and caring, and the classes are appropriately themed and paced for their respective age group. I also love the focus on encouraging children to say kind words and affirmations to themselves at the end of each class, along with getting a stamp and some glitter! The little shop outside the class room is super tempting, so it's a challenge to leave without buying something adorable. Thankfully the prices are all incredibly fair, and the owners are very honest about how you can buy ballet and tap shoes in sizes that will give your child the most use. (Thanks for the sock tip!) I was happy to support Creation Station by buying dance shoes for our daughter here instead of online, and, to my surprise, they were actually less expensive at Creation Station than they were on Amazon anyway! After reading tons of reviews on other dance studios, I was very happy with our choice to enroll our daughter here in ongoing classes. The prices are fair, the ongoing enrollment means you never have to worry about missing a sign up period and losing your spot in class, and they make booking makeup's a breeze!

I love groov3 Just imagine a super easy to follow along, high energy hip hop class WITH a live DJ…read more that's right folks-LIVE DJ!! Now what this means is, the music is constantly changing so unlike other dance classes you may have attended where you dance to the same song over and over, there is always anticipation of what the next song will be. And when your jam comes on, you best believe you dance the shizz out of it! In terms of groov3 instructors, I've only taken Zoe and Brandi, both are amazingly encouraging, have great energy and swagtastic moves. Even though I've personally only taken those two, I've heard nothing but amazing things about all of the other instructors as well. The space itself is pretty roomy. Warehouse style with 2/3 partitioned off with mirrors for the dance floor and lots of super cool graffiti along the wall. 1 Zoe-Zoe the disco ball, 1 bathroom, 1 makeup/ green room and cubbies along the wall to hold your belongings. Parking is all street. I can see if the classes in the space start to get bigger, it may become a little difficult, but if you don't mind walking, then it shouldn't be an issue. After all, we're all there to get a workout, right? The routines are always new, and typically average to about 5 counts of 8. When you start to attend the classes regularly, some of the moves may start to feel familiar, but it's always fun to add your own style to each routine. Since the music is loud most of the time, the instructor uses hand gestures to signal what is happening. They're really simple and easy to follow along. If you're looking to get some cardio in while learning a great dance routine in a truly supportive environment, I definitely recommend groov3. Did I mention there's a live DJ? :)

Ben, the creator of Groov3, is a genius!…read more It takes genuine artistic talent to create dance the way he does. Every week is completely different and the moves are always fun and fresh. His understanding of musicality is among the top that I have seen in my more than 25 years of dance experience and it shows every single week. As a person, Ben is an endless source of fun, enthusiasm, warmth, and compassion. As an instructor, he really understands how people learn. The choreography is broken down into 4 counts and done at half time. It's the perfect way to figure out how your weight is supposed to be distributed and how your body can work the moves before he picks up the pace and encourages you to "dance the s&$t out of it!" Classes are accompanied by a live DJ that spins high energy pop/hip-hop/r&b stuff from as far back as the 90s to today. The music is mixed for the ENTIRE duration of the class, so his lead is composed of very clear non-verbal cues which he always explains at the beginning of class. Thankfully, Ben has a vision of bringing this experience to as many people as possible. To this end, he has a growing number of very talented dance instructors who teach the same choreography using the same method at different studios in a growing number of locations. If you're looking for a fun dance workout, THIS IS IT!!! People with dance experience will be able to jump right in without a problem. The class is even fun for very advanced dancers. If you're a beginner, be patient with yourself! As with any skill, dance takes time and everyone has their own baseline set of abilities. My recommendation for you would be to go to 2 or 3 classes in a week for the first few weeks. Since the choreography is the same wherever you go, you'll be able to catch on a little more each time. Be patient with yourself and focus on having fun! The people who takes this class is a very non-judgmental group of ordinary (yet awesome) folks just like you and range in age from teens to 60s (and maybe higher?), and there are all sorts of body types (it's not just your stereotypical dancer body) so there's nothing to worry about!

She makes sure you get the moves while also keeping the environment supportive, comfortable, and celebratory. I love when she gets so excited that she literally starts screaming because someone in class is going off. She celebrates people constantly, by name or even just noticing something they're rocking like, "Yes, GREEN JUMPSUIT!" Being the only guy in the class, I've never once felt isolated, judged, or uncomfortable about assumptions people might make about me. I've only ever felt celebrated. It was refreshing not having to navigate that in a public place. She encourages fluidity in whatever way feels right for you, whether it's super masc, super feminine, or somewhere in between. Her focus is helping you connect to your artistic dance spirit, and that's when you know you're doing it right. She also celebrates neurodiversity and really focuses on what the strengths are within that, while also helping people navigate certain challenges. Karma's class is more than just learning choreography. Watching her dance is witnessing powerful, raw, and inspiring artistry. When she demos, it honestly feels like a mini performance during class. Then when she dances with us right after, you feel like this epic backup dancer, and it inspires new moves and articulations within you. There's also a strong sense of community in Karma's class. She's built a culture where you not only bring self-love to the class, but appreciation and love for the people dancing alongside you. Someone might be doing a twerk, an offbeat wild move on their chair, or some epic crawl across the floor, and the whole class erupts with roaring encouragement. Karma encourages asking questions about the dance moves and routines. She absolutely loves them. But remember, she's an A-type personality, so be sure to raise your hand. ; ] She's also a motivational instructor because she's real. She doesn't say generic things. Sometimes she shares philosophies or lessons that helped her in life, and I've caught myself thinking, "How is this level of Impacting dialogue happening in a chair dance class?" It's a one-of-a-kind experience that involves a chair, saucy moves, and surprising moments of human-centered community, full of loving people hosted by the radiant Karma!
