Inside the mini clubhouse they have a pro shop with a few items for sale, not a huge selection but if you forget your balls or tees they have all that there. They also have a food and beverage offerings in there and you can load up before you head out on the course. We let the staff know that we were somewhat beginners and I will say that they do schedule the tee times fairly close to one another. We were getting to the tee box as the players in front of us were either on the fairway or on the green so it's quite a quick pace of play. There were a few times we were falling a tad behind the game play and the Marshall was really nice and came over and helped us look for our balls for a couple holes and get us caught up to the game play. The greens were nice and even though it is end of the season the fairway and greens were still in good condition. Overall I would definitely come back and I would recommend this course to others. We played best ball and it worked well for us as far as keeping up to game play. It was a beautiful day and busy day full of people but everyone was super friendly.

The facility seems to be in good repair and the mini gym where sportball was held was well maintained and the venue had ample parking. I am definitely interested in taking the kid here again someday to check out the toddler play structure when it is available. The pool looks nice. I haven't swum here in over 20+ years so I really can't adequately review it nowadays but I have fond memories of swimming here in any case.

Came to Kinsmen Leisure Centre yesterday for a toddler birthday party…read more My review is for the amenities used for the toddler play & party room. The play room is for children 6 & under. It had optional black lights throughout the room which the kiddos loved! There were plenty of slides, climbing structures, giant foam building pieces, gymnastic mats, and a rock climbing wall! It was clean, it was bright, it was spacious! Adjoining the playroom was a large party room with tables, chairs, washroom, sink, counter area. My only complaint is that my kiddos could see & smell the pool which led to incessant requests to go swimming... So we will likely go swimming today! I think the mom said it was $170 for 2 hours. Balloons & piñatas are not allowed due to the air intake system. Overall, I'd give it a 9 out of 10! 2 hours is a pretty tight window to set up, play, eat, open presents, and clean up. The next group was waiting for us to leave at the 2 hour mark.

XD I think this place counts as the second spin studio I've visited, and I like that they still have the flashing disco light show, timed songs playlist, and super energetic spin instructor to pump it up! It's pleasant to know that a good portion of the people there are regulars and both regular riders and the staff are willing to offer their assistance to setup your bike appropriately for a great ride. The little hand towels they provide on the bikes at the start of every class also helps reduce my laundry load at the end of the week haha :D Sadly the couple instructors I had the privilege of riding with are moving on from the studio or on vacation for an extended period, but I look forward to riding with different instructors and figuring out whose pace and energy I jive with :) Also! I really appreciated the opportunity to be able to participate in the February limited-time offer for earning some extra rides! I brought my friend and we both earned some free rides, and although sore from her first time in a while, really enjoyed the space and energy brought by the other riders and staff! Pretty sizable, its weird how half the pools in this city are tiny and the others are gigantic. I mistook the hot tub for a pool at first. Bad vision without my specs. Hot tub wasn't too hot but it might've been the day. Theres 3 pools I think. Kids, lanes and a diving area. This place has a slide and a lot more. In the swimming lanes, someone had an under water radio, which was weird but cool! Couldn't hear it above water, only below. I didn't see a sauna but there is a steam room. Every 40 seconds it was blasting heat into the room pshhh! Pshhh! I found it a bit tricky to find the shower by the steam but its probably just my bad eyes again.

There was nothing really exciting through each obstacle course. They were all very similar terrain. If you do lose your golf ball in the water, you do have to go and retrieve it. They will not issue you another ball. There is a stick located in the golf course you have to go fetch. Also, there wasn't really anyone maintaining the area so there were groups that took longer and then we had a skip obstacle courses. You can probably spend an hour to 90 minutes here at most. I would skip this attraction.

Especially with the lack of obstacles, this course gets boring fast. They should try adding something. ANYTHING, to make the course a little bit more amusing. The locker rooms are horribly outdated, the showers suck (they don't stay on long, no water temperature control; you are at the mercy of every toilet flushing), and the shower areas are frequently dirty and smelly. The kiddie pool isn't even that warm, and it's small. Aside from toys, there is nothing there really to keep a child entertained. (unlike the amazing kiddie pool area at Clareview). Ample lanes for doing laps, divided according to speed. Depending on what time you go for lane swimming, the lanes can be pretty busy. Aquacise class is pretty good; well attended, and a decent workout. Friendly lifeguards. I am surprised at how well equipped and maintained the gym is. Pretty clean, minus the usual slobs who don't like wiping down their equipment. TV mounted on cardio equipment with limited channels. Lots of cardio and weight machines. I felt comfortable working out there. There is no designated ladies area. Gets pretty busy on weekends/evenings. They offer some classes as well, such as tabata and step. Check out the class times on the wall outside the locker rooms. Free wifi available. Lots of free parking in the parking lot outside, although come hockey season, the parking lot can be packed.

No reviews since 2014?! Have to set that right!…read more We took a staycation day and came in the morning on a sunny September weekday 2019. This year fall hours are 9am-8pm. Yes! The course has lights! It's a beautifully treed haven is just a stone's throw away from Saskatchewan Dr and 109 St. Loaded with birds and squirrels, it's pretty tough to tell you are in the city. Edmonton's River Valley is such a wonderful gem. We played 9 holes... takes about an hour, (if you play with me be prepared - it's going to be 90 minutes) but there ARE 18 well groomed and manicured holes nestled on the slope. I found the rough to be adequate and the greens were nicely compact. Yes, there were some holes in the greens, but I attribute that to folks not knowing how to repair the damage. We fixed the worst we found. I don't golf... and I managed less than 8 strokes on every hole . Almost made par on two! Great variety of distances on the greens for every skill level. My partner well overshot one hole, but thankfully there are well crafted hops, slopes and fences to contain the mayhem. I even got a double bank off a tree that put me back on the fairway! Yeehaw! There is parking near the clubhouse, so you don't have to walk up from the Kinsmen fitness centre if you don't want to (or can't). There are bike racks and a few picnic tables at the clubhouse. The clubhouse is outfitted with solar panels and a solar water heater. Way to green!! The clubhouse also has a nice selection of snacks, freezies, pop, chips and mosquito spray. You might want to bring some but they have some to buy if you forget. There are two gender neutral washrooms, a big garage door to open up one side when the weather is nice. Green fees are reasonable considering the cost of a movie these days, and it doesn't seem like the prices have gone up in YEARS! $16 for 9 holes, $20 for 18, & club rental $3/club, putter and iron minimum. Seems fair for an afternoon out. Can't imagine maintenance is any less for a little course as a bigger one. Each hole has an artificial turf tee box, and leaning bench to put or lean your behind or clubs on so they don't get all gummy in the morning dew. Was well laid out to flow from one green to the next tee box. I do see the point George makes about there being some near proximity for tees towards other players on other holes. If it's not as busy (mornings we were told) I think that works for us. Next time I'll bring some kind of bag to keep all my stuff together. Maybe a strap to hook my clubs on the bench when they aren't being used. Didn't spot a ball washer on the course, only at the clubhouse... but maybe we missed them? They told us they usually close Sept 30th after free facilities day, but they are going to see if they can stay open until Thanksgiving-or the first couple weeks of October. I can't believe it took me 12 years to come. I think this is going to be one of our new date destinations.
