I am thankful and feel fortunate in finding Don's services. As my water heater broke down in the evening, I anticipated all the hassles awaiting me in getting a new one installed in rural Volcano Village. I contacted Don via Yelp and within minutes he responded and we made appointment for the next day install. He arrived exactly on time. He manuevered the new water heater with great care for my plants and more delicate areas. I really appreciated that. The old heater was removed in short order and out of my house and life. The new shiny one took its place. Don is very articulate in his work. He installed it with top of the line hardware and quality stainless sheathed hose lines. You look at his finished work and you know everything in nice and clean and tight and done with a practiced hand and method. I was also glad to find that Don does "other" plumbing tasks as well. I have had several nagging and way overdue plumbing repairs and drain maintainance problems that have been on an long overdue "to do" list. This was my opportunity just to, "do it all now" while he is here. All in one easy swoop. He went at his repairs methodically and made them all as new again. Our water pump sprung a leak and we had no water in the house. I called Drain Man and Don was super friendly and very accommodating. He shared his rates and I gave him a rundown of the problem. He assured me that he would start with a diagnostic and then let me know what the cost would be before he started if things were gonna get costly. He was already on a job and agreed to come over right after, even though it was already past 3 in the afternoon. He showed up at my house within an hour. He took a look at the problem and was able to get it fixed really quick. He was extremely professional in explaining the problem and letting me know what he would do to fix it. He did not waste time or try to charge me for things I didn't need or exaggerate the problem. Other plumbers said they could get here the next day or a few days out. We didn't have that kind of time. We were flooded by our washing machine last week, and the initial plumber we contacted said he would call back but never followed through. Therefore, we used Yelp to find Don whose business is called Drain Man. He answered our call immediately and arrived within a few hour on the same day. We assumed that the drain outlet from our washing machine had overflowed, but Don did an analysis of this situation and our total plumbing situation and pointed out that the wall next to the open drainpipe to our washing machine should have been wet if that was the source of the overflow. He brought up the possibility that the washing machine itself might be the source of the flood, which we had not considered. He came up with a very good plan to prevent this in the future. Don is a master detective when it comes to plumbing. His price was very reasonable. He also is a very nice person. Don who is the owner of this business is a very nice man who does great work. He came as scheduled on the same day I called. My new refrigerator was delivered in the morning and we found out that the water line for the ice maker had to be replaced before the nee fridge could be installed. The delivery company said they would have to come back after the water lune was replaced. Don came later that day and did the job which was more extensive than what we thought. He had to go out twice to get parts but finished the job and even installed the fridge for us and helped us move the old fridge. He did much more than was asked for and at such a reasonable cost. My review of Don and his Drain man service is late, but my appreciation hasn't lessened. I had a weird water filled paint bulge in my downstairs bathroom ceiling. I figured the leak was coming from upstairs (D'uh!) and tried to locate and fix the leak myself. Not even close. I called a couple of local plumbers. My "preferred plumber" - only because of a high ranking couldn't see me for a week. Not happening. I contact Drain Man, and man am I glad that I did. I got two call backs on the same day, and Don showed up early the next day. He was able to find my leak, repair it, help me with my temperamental water pump and talk story and share laughs at the same time. He was a life saver and a good guy to boot. Our water pressure tank exploded mid-day on a Friday. We called a different company and their verbal quote was over the top. They also did not send an email with the quote as promised that evening. So, we called a second plumber that same afternoon and they said their office would call to schedule and they never did. Now we were looking at two more days of no running water in our home. Yesterday the Water Supply Department told me we apparently had a water leak somewhere on the property and usage of 2 gallons of water per minute was being registered 24/7 for apparently weeks. I was totally unaware of such a pipe leak. I called a plumber from the phone book and was told he could check-out the situation two weeks from now! Our toilet flooded around 11:30pm. Apparently it was more than just a clogged pipe. He managed to arrive earlier than expected, finished what he came to do a little after midnight while it was pouring rain. He also explained in detail to my uncle and grandfather about other solutions that could also help with our situation. It's past midnight and honestly I don't what we'd do without drain man. Great communication skills, fast, efficient and highly recommended. Although he didn't charge us because of the warranty on the pipes ( he came the day before as well) we tipped him a fair amount. I couldn't find a plumber anywhere. Finally found Drain Man and gave him a call, desperate to get help. After a brief description of the problem he diagnosed it over the phone and it was a very easy fix. No messing around, no con man antics, didn't even hesitate to help. Don was amazing!! Great service, knowledgeable, and very reasonable rates! He instantly replied with a quote during evening hours and I was able to get an appointment the very next day. We had hired a plumber previously for the very same issues, but Don was able to accurately assess and advise us, even showing how we could fix the problem ourselves. I got an estimate from another plumbing service, that had offices on other islands as well, and it was over the top. I went with Drain Man. It was a seamless operation. I had a toilet that would not fill with water. Other plumbers I called told me it would be two weeks. I called Dan and he was there within about an hour. Not only did he fix the problem (a pipe completely clogged with corrosion), but also installed a new faucet, removed a useless ultraviolet filter system and installed a new valve. I did not originally ask for those other things to be done - but it dawned on me while he was there to ask - and he was more then gracious to do it! The Drain Man is my hero! With a house full of guests, the guest bathtub faucet decided to not turn off... on a Sunday! My usual plumber didn't answer my calls, so I called the Drain Man based on positive online reviews. He answered immediately, was on another job but came up (50+ miles) as soon as he was done there. The fix was extensive -- switching out the faucet for a new one which involved cutting through the wall -- but he did it quickly and at a reasonable price. Don answered my initial phone call after calling 2 other plumbers and leaving messages with no call backs for 2 months! He spoke with me for about an hour as I explained my very unique upstairs plumbing problem in a 40+ y/o 2 story townhouse.
