I have lived in the area for almost 2 years and during that time I've tried finding an optometrist that could become my go to. I've tried 2 other before coming to Drake Eye Care that just didn't seem to give the service and quality I demanded. So I made my first appointment with Drake Eye care and I do have to say this far I'm glad I did. The staff is very courteous and welcoming. My eye exam was thorough and complete. I felt like I received a education in my eyes. They took the time to explain and not just hurry you in and out. The retail side also was helpful and fairly priced. Only complaint here is they didn't have a big selection of men's glasses to Choose from but still had some that worked for me. read more

Some of the office staff is rude and gave false information to me when dealing with insurance. As one other reviewer notes, know your insurance before you go. The doctors are ok but will push for tests and other treatments whether you need them or not. After a couple years of going here, the final straw was with the insurance mistakes and attitude by a staff member. We definitely will not be back. read more

I moved here from CA almost a year ago, and I'm still searching for doctors. I knew I needed an eye exam but I've been putting it off. I've driven by The Drake Eye Care building many times and thought I would make an appt. there one day. Well...today was the day. From the minute I called and got my appt this morning, til I walked out this afternoon, the experience was amazing. The front desk staff were so friendly and helped me with my insurance immediately. Then the optometric assistant, Connie, was one of the most thorough, caring, friendly, and professional pre-exam assistants I've ever had!! LOVE HER! Dr. Williams came in, looked at my retinal Photos and OCT scans and went over them thoroughly as well. The refraction process was a breeze and NO dilation! The machines and photos do it. To end the visit, Charity, the eye glass stylist was incredibly helpful. She showed me way too many frames (I wanted them all) and we came up with the perfect fit and exactly what I was looking for! Really disappointing service from this place. Had my yearly eye exam last month. My eyes are pretty bad so not a lot of places have trial contacts in my strength. They had some that were close, but still too weak. They gave them to me anyway, but then proceeded to order my actual contacts in the same (wrong!) strength. When I asked them why they ordered them like that, they acted like they didn't know and ordered my normal strength, delaying me getting my contacts. Since then, I got my contacts in the mail and the boxes looked different. They told me they were the same contact. I found out last week (from a different eye doctor's office) that they are NOT the same and that the ones I got are a cheaper, generic version of what I normally wear. On top of all of that, I also ordered new glasses and was just handed them and sent on my way when I came to get them. They didn't fit them to me at all, and I also had a different eye doctor eventually do that for me. The other eye doctor's office was appalled that I was given glasses that weren't fitted to me at all, not even around the ears. Needless to say, I will never be back. read more

This used to be a good place. Horrible now. Charged $64 for a "contact fitting" and given a contact that is NOT the type I wear. It fell off my eye within 15 minutes of leaving. They pressure you to buy contacts and glasses from them (at a significant extra cost). They locked up my insurance reimbursement, forcing ME to call and get it unlocked so I could order my contacts. The prescription that they gave for my glasses was incorrect, I am out $99 as the lenses were "specially made" And are unusable. I called for them to fix this and was told I had to come back in so "an optician can explain the prescription to you". yeah right. read more

I choose this eye doctor because according to their website they have lots to offer in regards to the latest and greatest. Vision therapy ect. However none of that was offered to me. My vision has gotten worse and of course that's a concern for me. However I was completely dismissed. Even though she did acknowledge that my vision was a little worse she told me that maybe I just think it's worse and that sometimes people get use to 20/20 vision and then they can't tell if their actual vision really is worse. The doctor was very nice and I was happy with everything until the end of the visit when I went to order my contacts. I have really good eye insurance and am knowledgeable about my insurance benefit and coverage. They tried to convince me that I should use my insurance for my contacts and buy glasses out of pocket and it would be a better deal than waiting until the following year when I could get new glasses covered. This is not true, so just be familiar with your insurance coverage before going in. Unfortunately, when it was time to order new glasses a few months later I opted to get my prescription and take it elsewhere where they would be more truthful and understanding that I want to use my insurance (that I pay for) to cover as much as possible. read more

We love Drake Eye Care. I have been going here for my exams and glasses since they opened. My daughter has been getting her exams here since she was 7. Their office is in a great location with a private parking lot, easy to get in and out. They are great with my daughter. She had some issues with headaches and nausea that they told us was due to her vision changing so much so fast. I was able to get her in right away and order new lenses. She hasn't had any problems since we replaced her lenses. We will definitely be back. read more

Had a really wonderful experience with this doctor. The building was new, clean, and very orderly when I walked in. I was promptly greeted by the receptionist, and provided the paperwork needed to fill out. The tech that brought me back was quick, efficient, and friendly. She took note of any concerns I had, and passed them on to the doctor. Once the doctor saw me, she addressed my concerns, and even proposed some solutions that no doctor had before. I have always had issues with my contacts drying out, and she recommended I try a different brand. The type she recommended have been great, and work better than any others I have tried in the past. Once the appointment was over, the receptionist helped me to order my contacts (providing all necessary paperwork for a significant rebate). I told her I wasn't interested in purchasing glasses at the moment, and she did not pressure me to buy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I had a complete eye exam at Drakes Eye Care and they did a awesome job. Dr. O'Hara was very friendly, and very attentive to all my questions. She makes you feel very comfortable. The two ladies Emily and Krista were very helpful with helping me pick out frames. They even stayed over to help me. They looked at my insurance to options to help me get the best deal. All of the receptionists are very nice via phone, and in person. The office is very clean and private. They did not pressure me to make a purchase from them.
