We went to America's Best office in Murfreesboro - the one on Old Fort Parkway. The doctor visit was okay, although remote (via computer screen, which we agreed to). The cost for our two exams and frames and lenses came out to over $600 - a lot more than we expected. We had to choose frames and then wait for them to come back to try them on. When we came to try them on, the frames did not fit so we picked out some others. When the "replacement" glasses came back, they were not the new ones we picked. The attendant ("Tammy") was very gruff and unkind in her attitude toward us about them - she insincerely apologized for making this mistake in a loud voice. We ended up apologizing (for coming in the last hour they were open) and leaving, saying we would come back another time when it was more convenient. She said would have to be "charged more" if we did not take these glasses. It was hard to find the frames we liked because the selection of the frames was not great. We will never use this place again and we really don't want to go back for the "new" frames. read more

My partner went in after getting a couple calls about her glasses. She goes in and reports back that they were disrespectful towards her and made her feel stupid, as they told her "are you sure you got a call from us?". They snickered at her and sighed and groaned about having to look for her glasses that they lost. She even had physical evidence of them calling. Not only that, but after going in for the initial eye exam, 80$ one too, she called to ask about her glasses and they said "they didn't have any record of her being there". I have not had any evaluations there but I did take my prescription from my regular eye provider to get my "wear around the house" glasses. They look great!! Unfortunately, my vision is not good with glasses no matter the strength so it is special contacts for me. The service was super fast and they were friendly. I was told they would be back in 2 weeks but received my call in 9 days that my glasses were ready. I absolutely plan to use them again when I need new glasses to wear at home. My husband and I go here for eye care. We receive great customer service every time we visit. This last visit, Tammy was especially helpful to each of us. We appreciate being able to schedule the appointments online and the reminders are great with our busy schedules. Came in three times, Saw three different eye doctors and they gave me three different eye prescriptions. All of them were maybe 3 minutes long, not thorough at all. I also failed my eye exam at work for my yearly physical. With my left eye being 20/30 and right being 20/70. Would not suggest going here. read more

Had a new patient exam today. Jessica did my pre-exam work up and she was so friendly, so personable and did a great job! Super person! My exam with Dr Cox was thorough, and explained everything to me while it was going on. After some changes, I was fitted with new contacts, made my follow up appointment and was out in eight at an hour! Buyer beware. You get glasses cheap but your lenses are only guaranteed for one year. I paid over 300.00 for mine. My lenses started peeling the protective coating. I called and they offered nothing. I have an old pair of glasses with lenses with the same coatings purchased somewhere else they are over 8+ years old and are still great. I just wish they were my prescription. Went here for the first time yesterday and it was the most efficient and time friendly eye exam I have ever had. All my concerns were throughly answered by Dr. Heath and I felt like my time was valued. My appointment was for 3:50, I was out the door before 4:30. Usually, I'd be skeptical with an in & out service, but I left feeling otherwise. The prices are also very reasonable compared to competitors nearby. I got my annual eye exam + contact fitting for only $89. Only thing I wish was different is the seating in the back for patients. The seats resembled a park-like vibe within a building. No one should go here. May be good for most people however you never know when things will go bad. The optometrist WILL NOT be able to spot small tears in your retina or cataracts. Everyone should just go to an ophthalmologist to start with. If you like saving money take your prescription to Costco or Sams club and they can fill your prescription inexpensively as possible. The money you spend at America's best is equal to flushing your money doing the toilet plus you could end up blind like myself. Had the optometrist spotted the tears with the dilation I could of had surgery sooner and got back my vision. The service was great but since I bought my glasses in June of this year I have had to have my lens popping out of the frames 9 times so far. I have carried them back 2 times there and the last time the lady wanted to know if I had super glued the lens I was pissed off because Wal-Mart in Shelbyville has been fixing them for me because I live closer to them. I was cooking Christmas day and my lens popped out again along with the New screw they put in and I said I will go to Wal-Mart and just get new frames today and Wal-Mart told me they will add a new screw in them and they fixed them for Free again today. I will never get another pair of glasses from America's Best again I paid over 400.00 for my glasses and I don't see why they were not replaced when I went to them a month ago instead of being asked if I put glue on them and putting in a new screw that didn't hold. Well I went back again since the first time was on a Friday evening around 5 and guess what. Same bad experience. Wasted 45 minutes of my time and no one even asked my name. This place does not know what customer service is. They do not serve the customer. 2nd try as a first time customer. I won't recommend them to anyone. She blurts out "what you want" in a nasty tone! I told her i wanted to get some eyeglasses and she took my insurance card setting on the edge of the desk to fall in the trash can. She started answering phones fidgeting with papers and then said go sit in the back. She didn't take my name didn't take anything off my card, didn't even scan the card or note I was in the back also no notes of a client sitting in the back was entered either. I asked for my insurance card back so it won't get lost and knocked into the garbage can that was below it. I went to the back waiting room and sat there 20 minutes and no one came and there was only 3 people there including me. This is ridiculous no one took a name or asked what you are here for. The other 2 was waited on and 4 others showed up and was being waited on. I had already wasted 45 minutes of my time and no one even asked my name. This place does not know what customer service is. They do not serve the customer. Especially a first time customer. I won't recommend them to anyone. They need to rename the store to Americas Worst Experience!!!! I had my new patient exam and picked out glasses yesterday and I was completely blown away by how sweet and friendly the staff was! From the exam room girl to the doctor to the sweet boy who helped me pick my frames (bless him for putting up with me trying on 1 million different kinds and asking for his opinion!) everyone had a smile on their face and made my day just that much better. I was there maybe a total of 40 mins and thats in and out (waiting, exam, frame picking, etc) that has never happened in a doctors office before! The appointment was easy to schedule with an online scheduling system on their website. I was seen next day and on time. The exam was thorough and the optometrist took time to listen to my eye health history and talk to me about the prescription and the current status of my vision. In January of 2020, I went to have my eyes checked and get a pair of back-up glasses. They took the glasses I had on and put them on a machine to find my previous prescription. I was informed that my eyes hadn't changed at all and they were going to prescribe the same strength. I brought my own frames and was charged $264 for the lenses. This does not include the exam. Within 3 months I started to have a hazy film on the lenses. They were not used all the time , so I didn't think it was that bad. Within six months of purchase, the lenses were very hazy and useless to me. I went to have them fixed and was told because I did not buy the protection plan, there was nothing they can do. If I could give a -5, I would. They have gall calling themselves America's Best. read more

I like thar they're open late (7:00) & I don't have to take off of work to see the doctor. I hecked in pretty quick and looked at frames until I was called back for the pre-exam, maybe 10 minutes. The pre-exam was ok and afterwards I waited for the doctor. I wasn't real thrilled with the optometrist because she called my last name, incorrectly, as she walked through the waiting area. I was the only one there and she got my first name right so I followed her. I was a little concerned about her lack of attention to detail, she didn't seem to be interested in my name and talked really fast, but to be fair I was her last appt & she was probably ready to go home. When I asked her questions though she did take time to answer them. I didn't feel like I was being herded from one station to the next like I have in other discount optometry offices. I waited another 10 - 15 minutes, looking at frames again when the sales person called me over to go over costs. She gave me my options, covered what insurance would pay but didn't try to upsell me, which was nice. When I left I had been in the store about an hour, from beginning to end. I would've given them 5 stars if the doctor had seemed a little more interested in me as a patient. But, honestly, I know that people don't go to optometry stores like this for the doctor's bed side manner. It's all about the final cost & customer service. I'd give both of those a 5.
