    Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza

I've been to Drake's multiple times when I used to work nearby in Oakland. We used to come here for happy hours, and my partner wanted to stop by to grab a drink before we headed to San Francisco. We stopped by the place, which was about half packed. It was a windy night, but people were still here to enjoy the environment, the heaters were on, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We sat at that patio next to the fires and ordered a few beers from their long list. We also grabbed a pizza, as I had not had one in a while, and the chicken Tikka Masala Pizza looked good. I enjoyed my IPA while she enjoyed her Lager, and when the pizza came out, it looked fabulous. We dug into and both agreed it was amazing. We scarfed down that pizza and chugged our beers and had an amazing time as always at Drakes!

I'm not really sure why this corner of Oakland has some of the dreamiest outdoor spaces, but it does. The patio situation at Drake's is so gorgeous that I was literally beside myself. We came for a night cap and it was the perfect way to end the evening.

This place was the cutest. Offering outdoor seating for good weather and a giant fireplace for colder weather. The place was busy despite it being a rainy day. Service was still on top of it. We came here before a comedy show and got serviced in time to eat and make a day of ourselves after. The spritzer was so good and the food was delicious . I wanted spicy and they went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed .

Really cool outdoor seating area with some spots that looked like they'd light on fire at night. Also has indoor seating if the weather is bad. Great selection of food and who doesn't love a wood fire pizza. Staff was super friendly and had great recommendations. Great place to grab some food, chill, and enjoy a beer.

As out of towners this off the beaten path beer garden was recommended to us by a friend. It was a great place to grab a snack and drink at the end of a long site seeing day. That being said our waiter was a bit strange -- the menu said to ask about their beer selection and he said he wouldn't list them for us. Leavinf us fo figure out we should go inside and look. He also closed us out before we were done, causing us fo decide to go check out another place nearby vs opening a new tab at the same place.

What I enjoy the most about Drake's Dealership is the semi-outdoor seating arrangement. This setting provides a cozy environment that is perfect for a group of people to chat, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. Even during the cold nights or season, the fireplace is enough to keep the warmth flow of air all while still enjoying the outdoorsy vibes. Their food is very solid. Lomo saltado was delicious. Elote pizza was flavorful. And the brussel sprouts were my favorite - crunchy, salty, mouth-watering. Customer service is here is always great. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The only con is that they do not serve cocktails because they do not carry that license (yet), but their ciders are pretty good enough for me.

I like Drake's. It's a super easy place to meet with a big group (individual tabs). The food is usually good. I just wrote this review to flag this weird portion of pickled veggies. It's an $8 menu item under bites. It was overwhelmingly onions, a couple pickled cucumbers, and some mini julienne sweet peppers (that were sour). How does one even eat this?? So, I spent $22 on one 10oz cider pour and this (tax + tip). Never again.

Thank goodness for warm weather returning. This is one of my goto locations for lunch. The personal pizza deal with a $2 half pint is wonderful. We love sitting outdoors in the patio. There is a variety of seating available, want shade, want sun, it's all available. It is a relaxing oasis in Oakland's downtown. Service is great. You can either order online or they can take the order in person and keep an open tab if that is what you prefer. I had the Butter Chicken pizza - 8/10 - it was delicious, such wonderful flavors I highly recommend this place. Can't go wrong with a great variety of beers and food.

Arrived here for the first time and they have lots of seating, indoor and outdoor. Came here for a birthday dinner and I enjoyed the service and food. The fries were delicious, the sauce and meat were great. Also, you don't have to split the bill, you can order from the code they have on each table and you can pay for your own that way so it helped a lot. The indoor restaurant is a bit dim, but it was nice.

Sat in the beautiful outdoor space under a canopy of trees. We shared Do ya pizza, crust was perfectly toasted. We all loved the sausage steak sandwich, roll was perfectly toasted and steak was diced enough to make it easy to eat Butter Chicken fries, yummy, plenty of sauce butternut squash tostada, tasty but small Service was ok. They must have been short handed because we had to wave them down.

This place is so cool inside. You get indoor outdoor vibes and vice versa depending on where you sit. There is a nice fireplace inside. Good ambiance. I've never been disappointed with the food or service. Staff are friendly and attentive and the ingredients are fresh. These Brussels sprouts were some of the best Brussel sprouts I've ever had. Oh yeah...and duh....good beer lol

Drake's Dealership absolutely nails it. The indoor design is stylish and welcoming, and the cozy beer garden in the center is the kind of space that makes you want to stay longer than planned. It feels lively without being overwhelming, well thought out and executed. Big practical plus: they have gated parking and they validate the ticket. That alone removes a lot of Oakland stress. Service was outstanding and lightning fast. Multiple staff members delivered our food in under 10 minutes from ordering, which is impressive for a place this busy. The beer selection is excellent - fresh, well-curated, and there's something for every taste. The finger food menu is done right. Everything we tried was solid and satisfying, no weak spots to call out, well, nothing stood out, which honestly says a lot for the place it is. Bottom line: great space, great beer, fast service, and zero disappointments. This is absolutely a returning spot.

Came here after work with my co-workers on a Wednesday night. The place is huge, and there's a few fire pits so it wasn't too cold sitting outside. I went with the all meat pizza and it was , and also tried the Amber Ale. Highly recommend if you are wanting to check out a brewery/pizza spot in Oakland

Ask the Community - Drake’s Dealership

Is there a full bar, as in drinks that are not beer?

Does the patio have a cover when it rains?

There are sun shades, nothing waterproof that I've ever seen. Sadly, the bigger issue is the amount…

We want to reserve tables for a work celebration - 20 people coming & going over 2 hrs. Can people order & pay for their beer at the bar, or do they require table service & one check for a party? Hard to tell if this is a sit-down restaurant or a bar

Everything is ordered at the table with a VR code. Very efficient and you can split the bill anyway you want.

Do they have gluten free pizza? Been finding other yummy spots and would like to try this one!

No gluten free pizza. There are many other gluten free options available though.

    Can you bring outside food?

No, they have a full kitchen.

Is the inside dining/bar area open for seating or is it still outside seating only?

    The inside is open now.

Do I need a reservation for fire pit or is it first come first serve? How many does the fire pit seat? Can folks just go up to the bar and get a drink or does it have to be orders taken by a waitress?

First come first serve I believe

Can I bring cupcakes to celebrate a birthday after we eat and drink at Drakes?

I would call ahead to check, but I've seen many parties with outside food brought in.

What time do they stop serving food?

Seems like the kitchen does last call an hour before closing time

    Where do you park?

There is a private parking lot nearby this location.

    Are reservations required?

We went for lunch during the week and no reservations were required.

How many people are allowed to sit together?

A lot... you make a reservation for up to 15

    Are there outdoor TVs?

    No outdoor TVs.

Is the "Brew Card" just a regular gift card? Can you use it for food?

Hey there! It can be used for food and beer, and at any of our locations. Thanks!

Is this place open for outdoor dining during COVID?

Hello Beni, Yes, we are currently offering outdoor dining. Our hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and…

Is the covered patio area open now?

Hi There, Our covered patio, outside our main entrance, is finally up and running! Here are the…

When will this place be open for patio dining?

Keep checking Drake's website and their socials. Alameda County will allow outdoor dining starting 6/19, but the businesses will need to decide if and when they are ready to re-open.

Will you be open on thanksgiving?

Unfortunately, no. But we are open on Friday, come and see us! One of our sister breweries, Triple Rock, will be doing beers and a whole spread on Thanksgiving! Head to Berkeley, it should be really fun!

    Do they have cornhole?

Not that I've seen. Only fire pits and benches

Will you guys be open on the 4th of July?

Hello, yes we will! Normal hours.

You can select between 4 different items should you choose this appetizer. We ended up selecting the smoked duck breast and chicken pâté. Both of these options were excellent with the duck breast coming topped with a small amount of flake salt. These starters were also served with crostini, mustard & pickles, and a fruit spread. The mustard provided some nice balance to the richness of the proteins. Additionally, we ordered a little gem salad which was solid. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but good. For my main, I went with the chicken thigh. The thigh was cooked to perfection with an excellent crust and rich sauce surrounding it. The meat was tender and flavorful. I also think the charred vegetables added an interesting bitterness to the meal. We both ordered dirty martinis which were also excellently balanced (extra olive juice of course). Overall, our meal was excellent. The food was good and the vibes were right. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I've heard word that Wood Tavern will be closing down soon unfortunately. First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. My food was packaged with so much care, precision, and pride--it was neat, organized, and handled like it actually mattered. That alone told me everything about the level of service in that building. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. And let's talk about the vibe--the music, the energy, the atmosphere--it all came together in a way that made the entire visit feel GOOD. Not just food... a whole experience. But what really stands out is this: It has been a LONG time since I've experienced service this genuine, this intentional, and this excellent. Not rushed, not careless--EXCEPTIONAL. Management, if you are reading this--please understand--you have some powerful people on your team. Candalen and Aaron are the kind of employees that elevate a brand. They are the reason people come back. They are the reason I will be telling others. This wasn't just a good experience. This was the kind of experience that turns customers into loyal supporters. Finally, we were so excited to see it was open on a Saturday an we came in for lunch. To order you need to scan the QR code and pay plus tip before a single person spoke to us or offered us service. From the menu we saw they were out of beef ribs, smoked chicken, rib tips, no peach cobbler, no banana pudding and no kool aid. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.

As a result, it took a while for them to be able to stop by our table and provide water, take our order, etc. There was quite a long wait between sitting down to ordering to actually receiving our food. By the time we had actually received our food, almost an hour had passed. While we were waiting, a few other servers eventually joined, but service was still pretty bare for us and we never received refills on water or plates to eat off of when we received our food. I understand that staffing and a backup in the kitchen are out of the staff's control, but it would've definitely helped for us to know in advance how long to expect to wait to align our expectations and arrange our plans for the day. Would advise giving customers a quick heads up/warning because that on its own would've made a big difference. As for the actual food, we ordered the mac trio with elote mac, chicken pot pie mac, and kogi short rib mac (for an extra fee). The elote mac was the best and most flavorful, the short rib mac was okay but not amazing or worth the extra money, and the chicken pot pie mac was very bland/flavorless and didn't have much chicken in it. The food didn't feel like it warranted the wait time and because of that I would not return.

It's a cute delicatessen/restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Immediately the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The woman at the register was very nice and asked if we had any questions. My mom and I shared a pastrami sandwich, Brussels sprouts, fries, and slaw. It was reasonably priced for the Bay Area. When they brought the food to the table I was shocked. Everything looked amazing and very appetizing, and the portions were much bigger than expected. Before she brought the sandwich over, she asked if we were sharing it and was so nice to split it into 2 plates for us. That was very kind for her to do. Let's start with the French fries. Omg they were perfectly crisp but still fluffy on the inside. They had so much flavor probably because of the beef tallow and had just the right amount of salt on them. There was a side of mayonnaise with the fries, and it tasted homemade. I meant to ask them if it was. It was very good lol I couldn't get enough. The poppyseed slaw was very refreshing and it was tangy and sweet. We loved that the cabbage remained crispy and it was great for a warm day. The fried Brussels sprouts were full of flavor. They were a nice balance of sweet and salty. I loved the bacon on them. The hot pastrami sandwich definitely satisfied my pastrami craving! There was just the right ratio of meat-cheese-sauerkraut-mustard-dressing. The bread tasted freshly baked as well. It was full of flavor. And the side salad that came with the sandwich was excellent. We loved the tanginess of the dressing. We were shocked that there wasn't more people inside, but also for 2pm on a Monday, it probably was just an off hour. We had so many leftovers as we both don't eat very much, but lol as soon as I got home I started eating some more of the slaw and salad. Can't wait to eat the rest for lunch tomorrow. We are already planning on coming back to try the meatballs next time and definitely trying their Indian cuisine! I'll have to bring my husband here next. Thank you guys for an amazing lunch!

My friends and I got cheese fries, regular fries, a veggie burger, a regular cheeseburger, and a hotdog. Safe to say, everything was devoured and we even went back for seconds. I think my favorite option is getting a vanilla soft serve cone for later. You basically pre-order it, then pick it up whenever you're done with your food so you don't have to rush to finish your meal. I had so much fun here and the environment was super friendly. Feels like real community at Lovely's. p.s. there's street parking or lots available in the area for cheap!

Never been to a fish and chips place that didn't have vinegar. It's just not right! They were tasty, but I had to take them home to eat them the way I like them and I had already bought a Coke that I couldn't take with me because they have no to go cups. So those two things basically spoiled the meal. Service is good if they're not busy, but I have stood on line for over an hour when they were really busy.

So I've been driving by this place since the '80's when it was a Hofbrau. Today's my first visit!…read more I love it. As others mention, it's completely different than it looks from the outside. Modern, airy, and open concept. Their Honors West Coast IPA is excellent. I would come back just for this. I ordered a lettuce wrapped The Dude burger with cheddar and mushroom. Yum! Nice presentation as well. Only disappointment is that they no longer have a parking lot :( What a great place to just hang out and chill. I'll definitely be back. Okay, I'm still here, ha, ha, ha... I had to try their Smoke and Honey cocktail. Mezcal and laphroig islay scotch plus lillet blanch!

The inside has a nice modern look and there is a lounge to the side open for happy hour. We sat in there which has its own bar. It is very cozy. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and I ordered the French Onion soup with a bacon grilled cheese. Our waiter started off well but when he came to get our orders he didn't write anything down and I had to repeat myself twice. The first time he was facing my husband, the second he came to my side and I pointed at the menu while slowly repeating my order. I simply wanted a grilled cheese with bacon added no avocado as it is advertised as an add on, on the menu. As he walked away a part of me knew my order was going to be messed up. Low and behold my soup arrives with a side of bacon. I then explained again what I ordered. A few moments pass and he comes back and then my husband explains what I wanted. I'm not sure if it was a language barrier but it just didn't seem to register. I truly did not think asking for soup & bacon grilled cheese would be so difficult. By this time my husband had already received his salad which was delicious. Finally, he comes back with my soup, a grilled cheese and the bacon ON THE SIDE. If I ordered a bacon grilled cheese why would you give me like this? Why not make my grilled cheese and add the bacon inside? To make matters worse the French onion soup was so bland not even salt could save it. It tasted like a nothingness broth. The grilled cheese was better once I made it myself. The waiter never came back to check on us. The manager hovered by for a while but we had to even flag him down for the check. I left hungry and got a meal at the airport. Would not recommend. If you can't remember an order as a waiter please just write it down.

I'm not even kidding. Everything sounded great. The space is really cool as well inside with lots of that local art you know and love in the Oakland area. I ordered a margarita to start. Yum! For apps, we ordered the guac and chips alongside the fried calamari. I partook in the guac and chips, fresh and delish. Calamari was not gfree. For my main entree I split a beet salad with one of my colleagues, I can't say no to a beet salad. Then I ordered the mussels...which were so good. I loved the aioli on the top of the fries. I also had a bite of my colleagues coleslaw...and I will say it was the best non mayo based coleslaw I've ever had! Not kidding! It has red onion, green pepper, and cilantro. For dessert since it's always a must on a biz trip, we ordered crème brûlée and a sorbet. The brulee was as expected and perfect to end the night. Will definitely be back!
