The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because my fiancé said they were helpful with designing the ring. -We couldn't believe they made it the wrong size, even the receipt had the correct size on it. They made it two sizes to big..talk about a bummer. So we thought well, mistakes happen and tried to be nice about it. I brought in the engagement ring, and a ring from my grandma that I wanted resized. -Then, I had to bring my engagement ring back to them because they accidentally used a different cut diamond on the side of my ring. -I'm really sad to report that my grandmas ring broke right where they cut it and I only wore it a handful of times. I love this little shop! It was recommended to me by a colleague when I asked around about a jeweler recommendation as I had some pearls that needed to be restrung. One of my colleagues said I needed to come to Dransfield. I brought in my pearls that had been restrung by another jeweler (and obviously not well) on a Thursday and was told I would get a call when it would be ready for pick up, presumably sometime the following week. They were ready the next day. They even replaced the broken clasp! The workmanship looks quite good and all seems to be holding up well. The people that work there have always been very attentive as soon as someone enters. I love that! Recently, I took a ring to Dransfield given to me after my granddad passed away to have the stone replaced. The woman working there was so patient and knowledgeable that I ended up picking out a stone that fit perfectly inside of my ring the same day. I have not bought jewelry from Dransfield Jewelers yet but I certainly will because they are very trustworthy and customer focused. My engagement ring had a prong out of place and Dransfield fixed my ring within 24 hours. They assured me the ring would not go offsite as they do all the work onsite. They fixed the prong and my diamond is secure in place. I've also had them fix a necklace for me and turned my snap earrings into dangle earrings. They are kind and courteous and not pushy. They lay out all the options for you and let you choose what you want. I can venture to say that they're probably the same way when it comes to purchasing jewelry with them. They have designers on site and many of them are skilled in jewelry making so they can customize anything. I will definitely be returning for any jewelry repairs or to purchase now I know a trustworthy business in the area! read more

Dransfield Jewelers was recommended to us by a family member. We were looking to make our wedding rings from family gold and stones and had tried another jeweler who told us they couldn't use our gold and quoted an extremely high price. Rather than settling we came to Dransfield and used the materials that were precious to us to have custom pieces made. Daniel was generous with his time and expertise and was able to create a custom family crest ring with a stone set at the top and a custom band to match my engagement ring. Our timeline required was slightly last minute, but our rings were finished when promised and more beautiful than we could have imagined. Most importantly, we were able to use the materials we wanted. We were very impressed with their selection of jewelry in the case as well. I searched for months trying to find a jeweler that could make an engagement ring I designed. Every jeweler large and small that I visited had the same basic ring designs and I would not trust this intricate design with just anyone. I have a ring from my grandmother that has been broken for a couple years that I kept putting off getting fixed. I finally looked up jewelers near me and came across Dransfield Jewelers. They had great reviews, so I decided to try them out. When I brought my ring in, Jill was working and was so sweet and helpful at finding the best, most cost-effective solution for now. Rose did the work on it and called me during the process to keep me informed on what was going on with it. This ring is old and will need work again in the future (for which I will definitely come back to Dransfield!) but it is once again wearable and the work done looks fantastic. You won't be disappointed! I have taken two pieces of jewelry to Dransfield"s and Kristen has done amazing work. My diamond ring was damaged from being worn so much. Kristen melted it down and duplicated the original style but with a twist. It was beautiful before, but it's gorgeous now! Took a pair of diamond studs in as the post was too long. She turned the earrings into a jacket and now I can wear them with lots of different studs. She truly is an artist! read more

Out looking for a holiday gift for my girlfriend. I had an emerald pendant in mind and four stores to check out. I visited Dransfield's first and found it. But a beautiful tourmaline and diamond ring also caught my eye. Jill was very accommodating and let me weigh my options. She did not pressure. She was friendly and interactive the whole time. She even provided a magnifying hood so I could get a better view. But I still had three other stores on my list. At the other stores I found emerald pendants but that tourmaline ring haunted me. I returned to Dransfield and bought the ring. Jill was wonderful. The store was wonderful and the merchandise was extraordinarily beautiful. I'll return for future items. read more

I couldn't be happier with the experience of working with everyone at Dransifeld, and my wife is delighted with how each piece of jewelry turned-out. Even if you don't live in Richmond, VA, they're worth seriously considering if you want a custom piece of jewelry. Dransfield's talented jewelers took our rough sketches and skillfully turned them into beautiful creations, each time meeting a pretty tight deadline. I showed her a ring I was obsessed with for inspiration and she came up with a few sketches based on the original design for my approval within a few days. I recently bought an engagement ring at Dransfield and my experience was awesome. This was the second place that I went and when I walked in I was greeted with friendly great customer service. I had already done a good deal of online research so I knew basically what I was looking for. After talking with Kristen for a few minutes , after she had already asked me the details of that I was looking for, she asked me what my budget was and she said she would have some diamonds shipped in for me to look at in a couple of days (which I thought was rather fast). I went to a few other places around town and the first thing they asked was what my price range was. They proceeded to show me poor color diamonds and stated that if I wanted something better I would need to increase my budget. I went back to Dransfield to look at the diamonds that Kristen had brought in and they were MILES better than anything that any of the other stores had shown me. These diamonds would have literally cost twice as much at the other stores. After looking at the diamonds I wasn't quite sure and again Kristen offered to have some more shipped in. Fast forward to the second shipment and I found the diamond I was looking for. It was ideal cut with near perfect color and great clarity, but above all it was within my budget! For the setting I showed Kristen a picture of something similar that I wanted and the next day she had the perfect setting. She got the ring ready with plenty of time and it looked perfect. My fiance LOVED it! All in all I am not an easy person to please but Dransfield pleased me in every aspect of my experience. I got a beautiful ring with no hassle or pressure and within my budget!
