The builders spent a lot of time shirtless and smoking cigarettes in my backyard. They had to to come back out to our property 3 times within the first two weeks because of issues. Issue #1: They forgot to concrete in 3 posts. Issue#2: They damaged a panel when they were installing it, they noticed this and then proceeded to turn the panel the other direction facing my neighbors house so that we wouldn't notice. My neighbor witnessed them do this. Issue#3 The gate latch ripped completely off of the gate week 1. Issue#4 The gate installed at the back of our yard was not installed properly and would only open about 6 inches. Our fence is now almost 3 years old. The vinyl fencing has many cracks. The company claims that this is normal and to be expected.

Mike Speek Jr was the rep who came out to give us a quote. He was awesome, professional and gave us all the info we needed. He wanted to make the sale and really sweetened the deal for us which was awesome. We went with an aluminum fence and wanted to make sure it was durable and would last. The warranties they offer are more expansive than any other company we got quotes from. Which makes us as the customer feel very confident in our purchase knowing that if anything were to go wrong, or break, or bend, we will be taken care of. Do yourself a favor, keep looking elsewhere for your fencing needs. First let me say, the owner is a nice guy. When I called/texted, he answered. He had good intentions but lacks the professional follow through towards a paying customer. There was no proactive communication. He only addressed issues and provided follow ups if you asked. And you had to ask and follow up at almost every step of the way. Most of the time, multiple times. The owner knew it was a poorly constructed fence and told me he sub-contracted the job out to another company he had used before when his "A Team" was booked. There is no quality control or protocols in place. I paid $5,000 for a fence that won't last and had never actually looked nice. I wish my property had the 6' privacy fence so paid for. Instead, I'll probably have to pay for another one sooner than later. I'll highlight the experience I had with Atlas Revamp: 1. Dangerous Nails / created liability issues (see photos). A fence requires nails to hold the fence picket to the horizontal and vertical beams/posts. EVERY nail they used (2,000+) was 1" too long. That means EVERY NAIL was sticking out by 1" at my neighbors property on both side of my property. We're talking 2,000+ nails here. That created a huge liability for me as my neighbor's kids/pets could have been injured at any point in time. It took 2 weeks for that to be resolved. His solution, the owner, was to come and cut the nails with an angle grinder. It's important to note that whoever built this fence clearly noticed the nails were too long and never stopped. You couldn't miss it. They kept driving nails. Also, no one said anything to me about it. It did not come to my attention until I drove in from out of state to inspect the home. It took weeks for them to repair the nail issue. 2. Actual trash and my old fence left on-site for several weeks / over one month (see photos) - They did not clean up after themselves. I told the owner directly, via documented email, that I did not want any of the old fence. He said, all good. We'll take it. Their fence quote included a line item for "disposal". They left the old fence piled around my back yard, my side yard AND in my neighbors yard. I mean, my neighbors yard? Come on now. It took over a week for them to come back and clean up my neighbor's yard. It took MORE THAN ONE ENTIRE MONTH to clean the old fence from my yard. Even the plastic packaging for both the gate handles were left disposed in the backyard (see photos). 3. Terrible, improper gate installation (see photos) - we had 2 entry gates installed so that you can access the backyard. Pretty standard. The "gates" they installed were as if they had never actually installed a gate before. The gate's entire structure were pickets installed on two horizontal 2x4's. At the end of those 2x4's we're hinges. These gates, if left like that, we're going to be sagging/dragging in no time. With rain and snow, this gate "structure" was going to warp quickly. He came back out, eventually, and added some additional diagonal beams (2x4's) to the gate. However, it is still not spec nor like I see on every other fence gate I've seen in my entire life. 4. Frustrated my nice neighbors - They cut my neighbors internet line. Atlas Revamp should have taken the proper steps to know where lines/plumbing were/are. Instead, they dug post holes and hoped they would not hit anything. 5. Not a good looking, quality fence - I paid market value for the fence and got a substandard, poor quality fence. I can kick in this fence with little effort. Kind of the opposite of privacy/security. There were more issues but I don't have the time keep writing. You've been warned. Everything I've laid out here is true, original photos and I have emails/texts with time stamps. Just don't do it.

In the end, I pursued another option thanks to a friend's connection that got me a very good deal. I contacted Watergate about some roofing issues at my home that I was aware were quite serious. I had two friends who both gave me a good reference for Watergate. One friend indicated they were they only company he'd dealt with that did not default to recommending a new roof. The other friend shared that they support Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit I also believe in. So, I contacted the company and requested an estimate. They set a date, and their employee arrived on the day and at the time that was scheduled. As I recall, his name was Max. We discussed my concerns. He did a thorough search of my concerns, and indicated he'd be contacting me soon with an estimate. He provided the estimate within the expected time-frame, which ended up being pretty rare among the estimates I did receive. He communicated well. He followed up multiple times. I will note the estimate was the second highest I received, though considerably lower than the highest. However, in their defense I felt like Watergate was really targeting solving all my concerns. They do offer a financing option. One slight customer service quirk of mine - if I e-mail you, I expect an e-mail response. Both times I e-mailed, within five minutes I got a phone call. If I wanted a phone call, I'd call. This is relatively minor, but it did bug me. It didn't bug me enough to drop a star. Overall, I was pleased here. As I noted, I ultimately opted for another choice but I was impressed by the service here. It didn't feel high pressure at all, though there was intentionality. There's a difference. I love that they work in the community. Since I have two friends who also praised them, I have to still give them a thumbs up. While I didn't choose Watergate this time, I was impressed enough that I would still call them again should future work be needed.
