He came out a few hours later to give.me.an estimate. The price was fair and he seemed reliable, so I hired him to do the work in 3 or 4 days. Due to weather and scheduling other projects, he actually came out just 2 days later. It was fantastic to drive up to my house and see a brand-new gate. Larry and his assistant were finishing up with the post. They had to remove a patch of concrete, then pour new concrete. The new post is very sturdy. Both of them were polite and friendly. I am so incredibly thankful I found them and have already recommended him to multiple people, including my neighbors (update: they now have a privacy fence along the same side as my replacement and it looks just as good and well done). I have had an unending list of home projects lately and there are two that stand out as the smoothest: this is one of those two. Found him to be fairly priced (actually, the best price from quotes I received), but also honest. The work itself was outstanding and I so appreciate some of the smaller details. For instance, setting the posts in the concrete overnight before continuing and ensuring the panels were properly spaced. Whomever originally installed the fence had the panels spaced too far apart, so you could still see through quite a bit despite the fact it's a privacy fence. This is such a hard combination to come by and makes him invaluable. read more

Larry and his crew just finished removing old and installing new 6 foot privacy fence around my backyard - about 350 feet in all. Larry is a great communicator. Kept us in the loop throughout the project as far as schedule, unexpected issues etc. we got 4 estimates before choosing Heartland . In the end we chose them because of response time to questions, not hassling us as we gathered estimates, cost (not most or least of the estimates we gathered), professionalism. Install took a little longer than expected due to short staffing and flu and weather but again, even from his sick bed, Larry was responsive. Second time hiring Larry. Most recently, he did an outstanding job building a wooden fence around our indianapolis home. He explained the design in detail in advance so we knew exactly what to expect. He quoted a fair price and kept his word (no surprise increases). We were away from the home during the build. The hardest part about getting a fence installed is even finding someone to give you a quote. He came to measure on a Sunday, and completed the work on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday when the weather delayed original plans. Larry was top notch in every aspect. We hired Larry to fix our gate that was broken and almost falling over. He responded really quickly at first and once he got the materials (there was a shortage due to covid) he started the work. A few days after he did the job the issue that caused our gate to falter in the first place wasn't fixed and our gate was starting to fall apart again. I texted larry asking him to fix it since we already paid for it and he told me DAYS at a time that he would be out to fix it and never showed up, never let me know, nothing. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and unreliable. If you're not a commercial job you're not worth his time. He got two stars because the work that was done right is good. read more
