This is the second time I've…read moresent a child to a dentist to be told he has multiple cavities that need filling, only to get a second opinion to find out that they absolutely do not need filling yet, and that they can be treated with good brushing and some floride rinse, and, hopefully, will never need filling. This time, sadly, I was too late. I allowed one filling to be taken care of before I got the second opinion. The dentist who looked at the original xrays specifically pointed out that the 3 "cavities" diagnosed at Shorewood Family Dentistry were in fact still in the initial phase of decay, and not through the enamel yet. Dentists, like all many of us I guess, have to pay their mortgages and student loans. But there is no excuse! I also found it not only odd, but possibly suspicious, that the dentist himself chose to clean this child's teeth instead of having the hygienist do it. I'd never heard of that happening before.

Dr. Eslami is also an exceptionally skilled periodontist. I originally expected gum grafting on two teeth, but during surgery he was able to successfully treat four teeth in addition to performing my frenectomy. Normally I'm a Yelp gal all the way but this time I defaulted to Google and I'm glad I did. Lauren the dental hygienist was extremely awesome. I explained my dental anxiety and she asked questions regarding where that anxiety comes from and let me know the various numbing creams/squeeze balls they have for increased comfort. I always bring my own anxiety-football that I death grip but I accidentally dropped my ball on the floor half way through the cleaning yet I felt so comfortable and at ease that I didn't need it anymore. She gave me options such as: manual scraping or using the electric tools depending on what my anxiety can handle. She was calm and thorough and explained the process the whole way through which was so helpful. I don't have dental insurance and they have a special right now for new patients: cleaning, dentist exam, and X-rays for $150. They received my previous dental records and seemed to be informed on my latest dental procedures. Fluoride treatment runs the same price here as other places I've been, between $35-40 dollars. The dentist was really nice and seemed to be thorough, though right now my teeth are in good shape so there wasn't much to talk about. I'd recommend anyone to come here. In the waiting room there were many regulars that staff knew by name, just a really friendly atmosphere.

It left a large gapping space between my teeth, and had to return twice because my bite was affected. It was hitting my bottom teeth and i could not close my mouth without the tooth interfering and hitting. The tooth was also not the same size as the other side. I refused to return to have the permanent crown put in after a horrible experience. This doctor is incompetent, and will have a pleasant bedside, and take your money only to give you an unfavorable outcome.
