Disappointed this year. 4th time attending Christmas show and likely our last. People behind us were unaccompanied teens that made fun of the show loudly the entire time, even after being asked to stop. The family next to us had 3 young kids that kept running up and down the stairs, until one eventually face planted from 4 steps up. Parents were too busy filming the whole show at full brightness on their phones to care. Letting a 5 year old run around steps and fall at balcony level is such a lawsuit moment. Apparently, no ushers were stationed near here or they just didn't care to do anything. Tried to get hot cocoa to calm myself but told they ran out of that before the show even started. Add to this, someone decided it was a great idea to sell popcorn in paper bags and let it be brought into the theater. So these teens were also crinkling bags non-stop in our ears. We were second seating area up, and that makes your head at crotch level with the person behind you. It was so constant, I wondered if it was on purpose. The boy behind me kept putting his feet on my seat arms too. I really started to wonder if these were Church kids given free tickets. Why else were they there unaccompanied and thought it was funny to talk bad about every performer? Cannot tell you if the show was any good, since I was able to hear almost none of it and we left early due to this all. read more

We attended the Christmas show this year. As a first year attendee, I was blown away by the sets, dancing, and singing. This was a professional type event and I understand why it has become a tradition for so many. The church has a cafe to order food and drinks before the event to enjoy while watching the show. I absolutely love this Church although, I was a little skeptical at first, on it's location as I approached it. Joyce Myer is here doing a Conference in which, I'm a fan of hers so I attended one of her services which was AWESOME!!! Upon driving up the entrance I noticed the nice landscaping with food trucks and vendors everywhere, which was a great welcoming experience to the premises. I also notice that the grass was well maintained so, there were people everywhere sitting on the grass picnic style, which was a vibe in itself. The parking was also awesome for it to be a huge Church as it was easy to get in and out of, without traffic backups. I love that the lots are all covered parking, as this, is perfect for the Summer months. I also like that, the scenery is close to the Mountains so when you're entering, the view alone looks picture perfect. The inside of this Church has a great vibe and a nice feel to it and didn't smell like old stucco as some Churches smell. It's very clean and there was cleaning staff all over, making sure of that, which was also great to see. Great job guys!!! There's plenty of seating downstairs, upstairs, around and center of the Church. I liked that although, you're Upstairs in the balcony that, you're able to leave the premises from other doors that led to outside parking which, also helped with no traffic backup. This Church is definitely one that I'm going to attend again for Sunday service. It's definitely worth going again. Joyce's Conference was AWESOME and I'm definitely happy that I was blessed to attend. I'm looking forward to Joyce coming again next year as I, believe she's come at least once a year to the Phoenix area. read more

Ive been trying to get a meeting with the principal for almost a year. We had a scheduled appointment in April 2024. I showed up 15 minutes early, only to find out he left without notifying me the appointment would not be happening. The first three months I called every Monday leaving a message for a call back. After that I called every other week and now we are in October and I've never received a return call. read more

Where do I start? This church does not even deserve to be called a church. To sum it up: the sermon I attended was less of a sermon and more of a hate speech. The subject was about womanhood and familial roles. They took an important topic and turned it into a way to disrespect, belittle, and dehumanize people who do not agree with traditional roles. News flash, everyone in there already agrees with traditional roles. How about you spread love towards people who don't see things the way people of God see them, and explain how to properly relay Scripture rather than saying horrible things about God's creation. Humans are humans, always. And along with that comes a natural right for respect and human decency. Dream City "Church" fails to see that. Pretty big part of God's word! More in detail: I could not even tell who was a pastor. The guy showed up in a muscle tee and an Apple Watch. Strobe lights, a fog machine, and music loud enough to blow an elderly' s eardrum is not exactly honoring God. They are enjoying the sound/feeling rather than the message/ how it is supposed to make you think and grow. The messages consisted of and i quote: "Sit down feminists!" "God doesn't want you to be Gucci on the outside and goodwill on the inside" "women who want to open their own doors, why are you ruining it for us?!" "News breaking statement: There are only two genders." Let's unpack. The blatant ignorance/classism/disrespectfulness in these comments actually blew my mind I just about hopped out of my chair. As a woman who does in fact believe in traditional roles, I would NEVER say these things/ use this as a way to preach. The message of God is to be someone's bible and teacher, not a hater. I find it quite ironic that the message of this was to reject new age/ progressive culture, yet the entire "church" is the definition of new age. It genuinely felt like a cult who uses religion to back up their already ingrained hateful beliefs, and sing catchy music in mom jeans. For a church that has a mission statement of: "we believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward an individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture or the doctrines of Dream City Church." The sermon i attended was FAR from this message. Nothing but hateful and ignorant people up there preaching while failing to have empathy and love for broken/ struggling people. It was honestly heart wrenching seeing these people calling themselves "biblical women," and makes me see even more why people hate Christians. The message was uneducated and I definitely did not feel God in that room lol. I also thought it was very strange they had people who were tithing hold up their money high, and almost pray to those people? It was odd and seemed very culty/money grab. Like "these people are better than you because they are giving us money" They referred to people in the audience as "saints" Yeah okay. Wrong on many levels. They said "her truth" instead of "THE truth" Pretty important to recognize objective truth saying that you are relaying God's truth. Also, the end of the sermon was very strange. Asking people to accept Jesus Christ as their savior right then and there and them declaring them as Christian is odd in itself, but prior to that he said "religion is boring, a relationship with God is what's needed" Which I agree with, but how are you going to poop on religion and then declare them as Christian? Lol. Overall, this is the worst service I have ever been to, not to mention their involvement with politics. -12/10 this place should not only be taxed but evaluated for brainwashing. I would like to finish with one of my favorite verses that I think this "church" could use. Colossians 4:5-6 "Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." Not only educate yourself, but preach with Grace. 3rd time coming to their Christmas play. You can buy tickets as well you can sit in the balcony for free. Come early to sit in the balcony right in the middle to get a good view. I sat in all 3 spots. On the floor, you can see the camels walk by and the 2nd floor was good. Also the balcony not that great viewing areas and lots of kids crying and talking. read more

You will have both positive and negative experiences at any church. The staff does the best they can. I found it was challenging to work thru the points of entry to volunteer there. But it worked for me when I needed a season of anonymity. Other churches are a little better at warmer welcome. Can be cliquey. Other churches can be cliquey too. read more

I've been a member of this Church since 2008 back when it was called Phoenix First. I absolutely loved this church. I was always apart of the E&C crowd and didn't take Church too seriously until 2018 and I decided to ramp up my faith and get baptized. In April 2018 I made the decision to get baptized and starting taking my faith seriously. I attended this Church every single Sunday. I tithed every week and my life was beginning to change. I prided myself for only missing 5 Sunday in person sermons since baptism. I truly believe, that after Pastor Luke had his accident with the boulder, something changed in his sermons. There was more of a political focus and negative undertones. His sermons became more fear-based preaching. Allowing Trump to hold his rally at the Church to me was appalling but I sucked it up and kept my opinions to myself. Charlie Kirk for Freedom Tuesdays was another level. Then it became clear as more and more Political figures that obviously represented a certain side were showing up in Church for us to applaud them as if we were blessed to be in their presence. I had a very close death happen to me which caused me to be very emotional in the Lobby. I became very emotional while filling out a prayer request card and I looked up and was star shocked that Pastor Luke was standing no less than 5 feet from me. I immediately was embarrassed cause I was crying and in a sad state. Then I guess it was a body guard that noticed me crying and positioned himself between me and Pastor Luke so he wouldn't see me. It was the direct eye contact and emotionless acknowledgment from the guard that did it for me. Outside of that, I still persisted to show up every Sunday. That is until Pastor Luke dedicated a whole sermon on "Being Offended" and then used his platform to preach to his flock - a fear based sermon about the evil gays and Diamondbacks baseball team and LGBTQ flags and if you walked out you will be shamed by the Church and everyone will know that you were "offended". As I sat in the crowd I can hear people uttering words of hate, anger, and violence. That was the day I decided I cannot come back. I know Dream City will not lose any sleep over me and my tithes but if I can I will recommend a more accepting and loving Church. I will say this though, Pastor Tommy and Pastor Brad are amazing and if they were the only ones preaching I'd go back but until then I'm not going to recommend a Church that has fear based sermons. Also I believe any Church that wants their hands in Politics should have to pay taxes. If this Church pays taxes then I stand corrected. Trump, Charlie Kirk, Freedom Tuesday's, Arizona Republican Party Candidates are all examples of events, appearances, and/or supportive actions that have been held here that I've witnessed. *Also I don't care who you vote for and the same should be same for Church's supporting Dems too. I'm catholic, but I come here once in a while because someone very special in my life comes here and I like to support her. I'm a little thrown off by churches like this because of the size. This place is a HUGE compound complete with a 24-hour prayer center! Plus there's always a band, cameras and screens showing bible verses and what not. Super high tech. You don't get all that in a catholic parish. After coming here several times and listening to Pastor Luke, I have to say that I am delighted to come here. I go to mass at my church and then come here with my friend. The bible lessons generally go along with where we're at in the gospel in Catholic church. I bring my bible and love to follow along with Pastor Luke. You can get lost in here and it's overwhelming, trust me. There are always plenty of ushers around to help you out. Just tell them it's your first time. And don't be scared! Go up to the front. Don't get buried in the back! It's a lovely church with a lovely group of humble people. Soak it all in! read more

I will definitely be making this annual trip to this locale to see this fantastic spectacle of a lights and colors...it was in a word FABULOUS. We had seat for the 7pm show Dec 18. Our seat were section 102 row u seat 31-38. Someone people were I. Our seats and they would not more then. We stood outside in the hallways and then were given shitty seats against the wall on hard wood chairs. I paid 290.00 for my seats close to the crate and was given no help to get my seats back. We were loved again to the back. In row seating but we could not see the stage. Over all horrible and will never go back. Sad because I've been coming for the last 6 years. If the staff would of asked the people to move out our seats this could be been avoided. Whatever read more

This is for the holiday musical program, 'Celebration of Christmas' that we, specifically, come here to watch. We have gone to this for several years bringing young ones along with adults. If you like Broadway musical performances, plays and the spirit of Christmas, this show is a must see! The first timers are usually awed how amazing this is. Because this is not your hometown church small production. Beautiful modern-day storylines, singers, full orchestra, live animals, flying Angels, silk ribbon acrobats, and so on...and one year they shot out little stuffed animals to the audience. The ticket price is fairly reasonable but has gone up a little. But if you sign up to their website, they offer promotional sales throughout the year for different performances/plays and also for this event. No worries, the money goes to good causes like the outreach programs, Mom's Pantry, shelter and food to the homeless, families in need, and victims of human trafficking...and more. So not only are you enjoying a 'Fantastic' musical Christmas program, you are giving back to the community, our true spirit of Christmas. It's a "Win, Win" in my books!! ;) read more

As part of the cast for Celebration of Christmas this year, I am so pleased to say that the cast and crew are some of the most Godly people I know. I have never experienced more prayer in one day than performing in these shows. Prayer is backing everything we do before we go onstage. Even the children in this show are stepping up to be leaders, respectful, and are vocal about their faith. There are so many inter generational conversations and friendships happening too! The love we have for not only God, but for one another is immense. Not to mention there is like zero drama backstage and everything is super low-stress/well-organized (from my point of view haha). I've been in a lot of shows but this one has run the most smoothly BY FAR and I have felt so close to Jesus this entire time :) read more

I visited here for the first time, for their Sunday evening service... it was a Youth focused service, which was pretty cool. met Pastor Ben (guess he was the Youth pastor) briefly during the meet & greet! Attended this church some fourty years ago and loved it. Over the years, going back to visit I am sad to see what's happened here. Gone is the large choir and orchestra that was so fantastic. "Front Line Singers"loud music, fog and lights took it's place. Pay performances instead of free at Christmas. Now looks like a seeker friendly church. read more

I love Phoenix First! From the first service I attended I felt welcomed. I attended for about a month before I got involved. If you plug in to a group or begin helping, you will feel better connected in such a large church. My kids love it too! I have 4 that got involved in the Wednesday night programs. They are such a blessing. For a while, I sat in the same section and got to know some people that way. Once I was comfortable, I moved around a bit and met others. I became a Missionette sponsor many years ago. Met some really great volunteers and parents that way too. If you want a home church with many ministry outreaches, this is the place for you. They have over 200 ministries! Now, about the negative comments, AG is biblically based. Pastor Barnett preaches straight from the Bible. He is not a wealthy preacher with a mansion and lots of cars and a plane. He is not a 'name it and claim it' preacher. He does not preach to tickle your ears and make you feel good. I began Phx 1st when Pastor Tommy was preaching and Pastor Luke was just starting out in LA. I remember Pastor Leo and is purple suit (may he rest in peace). All of the pastors are fantastic. I do not know of anytime a child would be denied water in the summer in Phx. Please. She wrote her review in Nov. Personally, I read the reviews. Positive and negative unless there are too many. I want to know something or someone before I go or do. If you have made it through my whole review, thank you. I've been going to Dream City Church on and off for 10 years. I was shocked to read there name under best gospel music in Phoenix. I do not consider Dream City to be a gospel music church. I would call it a mainstream Christian Church that plays 18.2 minutes of contemporary, pump you up and make you feel good music just like most of the other Christian churches that are out there now. With there yoga pants and ripped jeans. However, they do give an altar call and if it wasn't for Pastor Saeed and there Tuesday night service nobody would be filled with the Holy Spirit. They do a lot for the community with many ways to serve. read more

We have been going to this Church now for a year and a half. They have a Wonderful Children's Program, which is very important to us! They have 2 wonderful Pastors, great Music Department and Drama Department and you can get free counceling at this Church from some wonderful Christian Councelors! They have the Best Christmas Pagent in the USA hands down. With "Live" animals including sheep, camels, elephant and also have Angels flying in the air above you! Pretty Awesome!!! Come see us on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings or Wednesday evenings, or just come early in the morning to work out and get in shape! read more

It is definitely something I always look forward to every Christmas. This year they did a Christmas Express show and it was pretty amazing. Not so much a church as a HUGE THEATER. The few "services" I have been to have always followed the same basic style: SINGING, More Singing, a very long sermon, more singing, a collection, a baptism or two, more singing, and an altar call. It all seemed so well rehearsed. Maybe it's because I was brought up in a Catholic environment, but I found the size not very conductive to effective worship. No one really gets to know anyone. I was looking for a new church for my children and I to attend. We went to the service last Sunday and it was a decent message, though I could do without the theatrical lights and fog. We came back this Sunday to find that the sermon was being delivered via a video, that wasn't even a live streaming. There was not an announcement or explanation provided, just sit back and basically watch the sermon via video which was clearly recorded earlier. I would think that such a large church would have several pastors that could give a sermon if one is not available. We left halfway through the service. After talking to a friend, I found they did this for there Easter service as well. It is a disheartening to think a "church" feels like it is acceptable to have a video service on a regular basis when they are clearly not struggling financially. Regardless, we found this church is not for us. If things ever change, we would be willing to reconsider. read more
