Warning! Stay away from this business!…read more This business is a joke when it comes to timeliness and competency. And I'm not just getting on here to complain. I've been a Yelp Elite for 10 years and have over 900 reviews. I called Ron around 9:45 PM when our serpentine belt broke near our Condo. Ron answered and said even though he was not available, he would send his right hand man there and he'd be there at 8AM sharp. I sent the car model/VIN so they could get the parts asap before heading our way. Great, I thought! The reviews were right. Now this is where things stopped. I called at 8. I called at 9. I called at 10. Ron's so called "right hand" wouldn't answer my calls or texts. I kept calling Ron and he kept assuring me that the guy was going to show up. 11 o'clock no answer. 12 o'clock no answer. 1 o'clock no answer. 2 o'clock. He finally answered the phone and said he would be on his way shortly. The guy finally showed up at around 3:15 PM to work on the car. We had spent the entire day waiting for him to show up instead of enjoying our last vacation last day of vacation. Little did we know this was just the beginning of all of the issues we would have with the car. It was the serpentine belt. But when the guy went to lift the car, he jacked up our Honda pilot via the oil pan. Anyone with a brain would know that an aluminum pan is not going to hold the weight of a car. This immediately resulted in oil spilling out of our car. He was unable to find a replacement pan for us so he had to use some sort of epoxy sealant to seal the crack that was in the oil pan and we kept our fingers crossed that we would get home ok. There was no apology for this added damage to our vehicle and there was no Compensation for the damage they caused. And when we got home, we had to spend almost $800 getting the oil pan replaced because of the incompetence of this company. This company is a sham and takes advantage of people who are out of town and needing their vehicle fixed in a timely manner. He charged us $500 to replace the serpentine belt. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

I asked him for an estimate before buying the parts, but he didn't offer one. When he got to our house to start I asked again for an estimate, to which he replied "I'll be fair ". When the job was done, 3 hours later he asked for $400. I was shocked, but paid him anyway. That's about 135/ hr. In my view, that's a lousy way to do business-especially when dealing with a repeat customer.

I towed the van to Tuffy and inform them of the problem according to Firestone. I asked Tuffy's to include in the estimate with all the spark plugs replaced and battery. I agreed... I was an outer towner. The vehicle was repaired. Unfortunately, the next day when looking at the itemed bill. I noticed a charge of $73.34 for charging system. I contacted Tuffy's and inquired of this charge. I was told that this charge is to check the systems: alternator and starter, to warrant the battery. I informed him that NO ONE told me I would be charged. He apologized, not present when I was given a verbal estimate prior of work and said this is what we charged. I informed him, " This is Bad business." The call was over. Furthermore, again looking at the itemized bill, I notice the only ignition coil replacement part was $148.98. I was surprised!!! This was over a 100% markup. My only concern was not informing me of the additional charge and excessive markups The work was done as promised.

In fact the Tupelo dealer said that the problem "couldn't be fixed" for less than $5,000 and made her a low-ball trade-in offer. Although the AAMCO in PCB was totally swamped with work, they took the car in. And although they couldn't get to it for a few days, they pretty much ran every test possible to determine that it was a combined computer and fluid issue....which they fixed at no charge because they had kept the car longer than originally promised. It's now been over two months. My daughter has travelled back to Mississippi, to Nashville and to Kentucky, and the car runs fine.
