We looked through the recommended list of vendors and found Events by Wise. I reached out to Shari and she quickly responded with all the information I needed. Shari's team consists of not only a full service catering staff but also a team of experienced individuals and coordinators- which makes them an even better full service team to hire because they understand weddings and what is required for a successful event. Shari and her team went above and beyond to assure I had no worries at all! On top of this, the price was very reasonable!! The service included more than what we were quoted for elsewhere. We were able to offer the type of service we could only dream of providing. Water, wine and champagne were served table side. Our hors d'oeuvres were served on elegant platters by Shari's team. They placed all of the chargers, plates, cutlery, napkins and menus. They assisted wherever needed and assured everything was taken care of. I decided very last minute that I wanted a champagne welcome shelf for my guests and Shari's team executed this perfectly!! Shari's team worked gracefully with my wedding planner, caterer, and the events manager to make my wedding everything I envisioned. I would 100% hire Shari and her team again! After booking with Shari, my anxiety and stress disappeared. I knew, without a doubt, that I was in capable hands and could finally relax. Thank you Shari, Meredith, Megan, Andrea, Jackie & Austin!

    I recently served as Matron of Honor for a wedding coordinated by "Events by Wise," and I want to…read moreshare my observations regarding my sister's (the bride's) treatment by Shari. One major issue was the lack of personal presence. Just three days before the wedding, Shari called to inform my sister that she would not attend due to a conflicting commitment to her granddaughter's 16th birthday. Although the contract stated Shari's presence was not guaranteed, she led my sister to believe she would be there to fulfill her vision for the day. Imagine the stress the bride felt upon hearing this news! My sister was overwhelmed with worry about whether the assistants would understand her vision as she had explained it to Shari during planning meetings. As someone with a background in high-end hospitality, I find this treatment of a client (especially a bride!) unprofessional and, frankly, mean. To add to the stress, my sister could not contact the assistants directly until the day before the wedding. While the assistants did a commendable job executing the wedding, some significant components were mishandled. The bridal party arrived at the bridal suite an hour before the ceremony was set to begin, fully ready after preparing at an Airbnb. However, just 30 minutes before the ceremony, one of the coordinators informed the bride that they were still figuring out how to get her out without the groom seeing her. This detail should have been sorted out earlier, ideally during the rehearsal. The ceremony, originally scheduled for 4 PM, did not start until 4:30 PM, which felt unacceptable. The wedding coordinator's primary role should be to ensure the schedule is followed. Additionally, we felt rushed despite waiting an hour in the bridal suite. At the ceremony site, the coordinators distributed bouquets but failed to bring the flower girl's basket, a cherished family heirloom. When this was pointed out, one coordinator dismissively stated, "Don't worry about it, we don't have time to go get it." This hurried feeling persisted into the reception. When it was time for the wedding party to enter the reception for our introductions, we were told last minute that we had to use a different entrance than what had been rehearsed due to a locked door. This lack of foresight caused confusion and disrupted the flow of the entrances. Although the wedding was absolutely magical and my sister had such thoughtful and beautiful touches throughout the ceremony and reception- there were elements that did not meet her expectations and her vision. She expressed disappointment about the dessert table, which Shari had promised would be stunning. While all the wedding guests thought it was a beautiful dessert display, if the bride wasn't satisfied with it- does it really matter what others think? The situation escalated when my sister wrote an honest review expressing her disappointment. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, Shari responded defensively and attacked my sister, even including false claims that she was an hour late to her own rehearsal!! This response felt shocking and unkind. Shari never apologized or reached out to my sister to discuss what went wrong. This wedding was especially emotional for our family, as the groom's father had passed away two months prior, and we were coping with the impending loss of our beloved aunt. It would have meant a lot if Shari had shown some compassion towards my sister, even if there were changes in plans. While no wedding is perfect, when hiring professionals, you expect warmth and respect. Given my experience, I cannot recommend Events by Wise." There are many other coordinators who will honor your special day with professionalism and kindness.

If I recall, that's what we said as we drove away from the reception. Karen is * budget conscious - she respects your need to keep to your budget and will help you work within those parameters. * respective of different cultures and ideas - she helped us create a unique theme and made sure to respect our church's requirements for the ceremony. Our church had dealt with pushy planners and were concerned about being run over by another one. Karen turned around their impression and made everyone on staff at ease. * happy / peppy / energetic - there WILL be days when you somehow can't handle the whole planning process and she's there to remind you of the end goal. When your wedding dress shop closes after you paid full price (the ONE vendor I chose on my own!), she is there with backup plans and resources and consolation chocolate. * organized and prepared - no matter how anal the bride / groom may be about things, details get left behind and Karen's expertise will keep you on task. Her attention to detail is impressive; we thought we were her only clients while she helped us during our wedding planning. We were shocked to hear that there were other couples she was assisting because her support and availability were amazing. * connected within the industry - her contacts and reputation garner great vendors and good deals. She can help you negotiate with your vendors to get the packages that reflect your actual needs. I cannot say enough good things about her assistance. Having her along with the wedding planning kept me sane and helped me from second guessing my choices. I never felt like a stranger was involved and never felt like it was anything but my wedding. If you're unsure about taking the step to hiring a planner, use her Getting Started package to get a feel for the fit. We did that and it made the decision to move forward oodles easier. When we celebrate a milestone anniversary, she will be the first person I call.

She kept my vendors in line, made sure the venue was set up right and kept me calm after my MOH walked out the morning of the wedding! I dont know what I would have done without her. She was extremely professional, timely and so on-page with what I wanted for MY day! She made sure everything was in it's proper place, and that everything made it home after the wedding safely. I cannot speak highly enough of her. She was worth every cent and then some (she was very affordable, by the way) and if I ever need to coordinate an event again, I will surely be contacting Karen. Anyone looking for a coordinator would be a fool to pass her up!

She made sure all my vendors were ready to go, and was always very responsive to my emails, calls, or texts. But the day of, was where she really shined. She was on-top of her game making sure everything ran perfectly, checking in with me when things were running behind schedule, and remembering the smallest details. Not only is she very good at her job, but her bubbly personality made me feel happy and at ease. Since I am a perfectionist who did a lot of the pre-wedding planning, this is saying a lot! I felt comfortable letting go and enjoying the moment, knowing that Teresa had it handled. Many of my guests that work in the industry also commented on what a great job Teresa did. She does offer a list of vendors, but if you are seeking more customized event planning, you will have to do a little more research on your own. Her florist, Michelle is great and her baker, Ora-Beth is terrific, but her tuxedo recommendation was sub-par. We selected our own photographer, videographer, make-up professionals and hairstylists. If you are willing to do a little or a lot of homework, then Sharon may be your person. Otherwise, there may be better options for the money and headaches.

To add to our complexity, it was a destination wedding on the other side of the country. We knew we had to hire a wedding planner and there was no shortage of options in the Napa and Sonoma valley. We had a few calls with different planners, yet the minute we hung up the phone with Sharon Burns of Napa Valley Custom Events, we knew it was a done deal. We called her back within minutes and basically proposed to her to be our planner! It was a decision that felt so right; it proved to be the best decision of our entire wedding planning process. Sharon's experience, expertise and outstanding reviews all speak for themselves. She knows the business. She knows all the right people. She is well respected in the California wine region. She demands excellence from all those she works with. She has the ability to know when to fully support your wants and desires, while also adding in a dose of reality to your wedding dreams. As a gay couple, one may think we posses a level of expertise on design, flowers and fashion. Sharon quickly found out this was far from reality. She filled in all of the spots where we were "weak" and supported or molded all the thoughts and wants we had in areas that were our non-negotiables. She helped us build, manage and stick to our budget throughout the 13 months we worked together leading to our wedding day. She maintained our vendor contracts, worked hard in negotiating hotel wedding blocks and even managed most payments throughout the whole process. So many of the stresses and mundane tasks of wedding planning and execution weren't even on our radar as Sharon took care of them all. We were already floored by all of her work done leading up to our wedding; then THE DAY came. Sharon delivered even more then we could have imagined! She was at our venue for well over 13 hours preparing, organizing, leading and even calming us throughout the event. We worried about nothing and got to enjoy everything. She ensured our whole wedding party was in place when they needed to be, our families were calm and relaxed, and, of course, that we were both smiling and enjoying every aspect of our day. Sharon even made sure that we were eating and staying hydrated throughout the most memorable day of our lives. The day was simply perfect! So much of that joy has to do with Sharon Burns and Napa Valley Custom Events. We cannot speak highly enough about her; words do not do justice to the thanks she deserves. Thank you Sharon, you knocked it out of the park!

We talked through what vendor contracts I already had and any details about the wedding. She made my chaotic situation feel instantly manageable and reassured me every step of the way. She reached out to my vendors to confirm details, made a finalized timeline, and made sure nothing was overlooked. The day of the wedding was absolutely incredible!     There was a time when having a wedding planner was considered a luxury afforded only to couples…read morewith deep pockets. (Or couples who had parents with deep pockets.) I beg to differ. In my opinion, having a wedding planner was a necessity and one I would advise other brides to have, even if it means scaling back on other costs for your wedding reception. For me personally, having a wedding planner was the difference between me just being able to "pull off" my reception and me being able to enjoy it. To save some money, I hired KWE for month of/day of coordination rather than full event planning (though they were available from the get-go for contract help, referrals and all-around advice). The month before my event, Kate swooped in and took care of all the details: designing the layout of the venue, coordinating with the vendors, etc. The week before, day before and the day of she took care of everything! She picked up supplies, was on hand to greet and coordinate with other vendors, did setup and cleanup, delivered items to my house after the reception, helped keep the party on track and so much more! I am not sure if there were any snafus (though I am sure there were, how couldn't there have been?) because if there were, she took care of them on the spot. She even jumped into action when I spilled red wine on my gown early in the evening. I really, really, really cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it was to have Kate and her team on board. I strongly advise you to consider hiring her for your event.

She is very professional and always has a can do attitude. She will strive to make your event special and if you have a certain vision, she will bend over backwards to make it happen. Our wedding was interfaith with two ceremonies and there were many cultural aspects throughout the day. With all this, it was very difficult to plan and keep track of all the moving parts but Kate was the glue that held it all together. She has been a pleasure to work with and was a calm, reassuring presence during the whole process. I want her and her team to get the recognition they deserve as a superb event planning business.
