Due to the crazy housing market, we bought the new home before selling our existing home, which creates an interesting debt ratio and Grover informed us that underwriters would be happier if we sold our cheaper car (or paid it off). We actually ended up selling our more expensive car that we planned to sell before moving anyway, but the dealership dragged their feet starting the process (first party dealership relative to the finance company). This created a headache for Grover's team because the car financing was left open due to the incredible slowness of the dealership (it took over three weeks for the car loan to be closed out and over a month to get paid!), but he worked with us to get an exception letter for the underwriters. Unrelated lesson learned: pay off the car, then sell it, if time matters and you have the resources. Ultimately, we plan to use Grover again the next time that we move.
