I went through Bolt Agency to get Progressive insurance. My monthly premiums were good until I had to use Progressive's driving app, or my rates increased. However, there were many times that I had to hard break due to other drivers haphazardly changing lanes fast in front of me, yet I was penalized by Progressive Insurance for keeping myself safe. When my policy was to renew, my new 6 month rate was OVER $2000! Therefore, I canceled before the policy renewed, and saved myself OVER a $1000 a month with Geico via Savvy Insurance Company, and Geico doesn't make drivers connect to a driving app like Progressive to raise their monthly premiums. read more

They totally hosed us on our insurance and then dropped us. We had an insurance adjuster come out three times. He told us all three times that Progressive would do nothing for us. But progressive reported the withdrawn $0 claims. Because of that they then dropped us stating we had filed too many claims, even though they had paid none of them and all were withdrawn. Now other insurance companies refuse to insure us as well because Progressive has published at least one of these claims to the public insurance record. Progressive refuses to remedy the issue for us and withdraw the claim from the public record. Look elsewhere with your business. Let's talk about a broken system...let me tell you why it took 2 months to get my claim paid out....not because of disaster....not because of anything except... Sent the same check twice to the wrong address! I kept on asking where is my check, all cars are being bought up, I need my check! Did anyone at Proggressive look at the address after I complained for 10 days straight....nope. Then when they sent out a second check, I even told them 'did you check the address '... On that one I got chewed out by a rep telling me, in a nut shell, don't be stupid we sent the check to you...no they did not. They sent both checks to the wrong address! Now I have an address on file with this company...and yet they sent it to someone else all together, twice! When the executive team called, after 2 months of waiting and getting just pissed off.... explaining to them over and over....storms around the USA eating up all the cars, send me my check! The executive team did what none of the other reps did....I guess you have to be on the executive team to ask this... "Let me verify your address!" Yep after 2 months and my blood pressure through the roof I get asked the question that I was waiting for...so within 2 minutes of the executive team calling they figured out they sent both checks to the wrong address. How does this happen you ask ..no clue! They sent me the paperwork first FedEx...it came directly to me. But when they went to send the checks out....they couldn't get it right 3 times! 2 times sending the check out and the third time when the executive team gave me the address on file....and I said...that's not my address. So, all cars I wanted are gone or all prices have increased 5 to 10,000 dollars! So I would have to finance over 15,000 dollars to get the same car I had... I even had the same car waiting for me to purchase and because no checks showed up....sold...sold ..sold. So Proggressive likes to put veterans who are 100% disabled with many issues and on a fixed budget....more in debt and they just did not care. They did give me something...my deductible back....wow thanks....now I only need 14,000 to buy the same vehicle because your folks couldn't send the check to the correct address! What would happen if I told them I sent my payment out and they didn't get it....I would have been dropped and banned from most insurance companies. But when they screw up...so sad to bad....a trillion dollar company screwing those who served their country, allowed them to profit as me and my friends fought for their over priced business to succeed. So, you crap on those who made you...then you tell me to go screw myself and just get in more debt because they just don't give a rats butt. Thanks for letting me see you as I new you are... I have been insured with this company for over 10 years, they call me a diamond member. Which means nothing to them. I just made my re-up payment, which I pay my insurance every 6 months. my bill was $901 for two vehicles, no other drivers but me in the household. after I made my payment I called customer service to ask why the incremental increases every 6 months. She reviewed my policy over last four payments, and it has increased around $20 to $30 every 6 months She said she would send me to sales and I could get a new quote. I agreed and went through the whole process of getting a "new" quote for the same everything I already had on current policy. it came in $350 less than what I am currently paying. Progressive is one of the cheapest insurance out there HOWEVER they don't work with you. They are all about money. I am set up for automatic payments and yet they declined my payment just so I have to pay the late fees. And apparently you have to be with them for a full year before they can waive anything. This is quite possibly the WORST insurance company I have ever had to deal with. I am involved in a claim where their driver is at fault, whereby I was injured in the accident. Progressive requires that you sign a settlement form prior to paying any medical bills and forces the other party to pay out of pocket in the mean time. They pursposely make it difficult to use your own repair shop and they purposely make it difficult to use your own car rental company. They claim their adjustor can only perform an estimate 2-3 weeks from the date of the incident. Additionally their staff are RUDE and if you ask for a new agent, they refuse to provide it to you. If Progressive has cheap prices, don't use them! If you are involved in a accident they will do everything they can to make things difficult. Use your own insurance company to fight them and hope another Progressive insured driver never hits you again! read more

Not a good company for divorced households or those with college kids. After paying my premium in full, Progressive underwriting decided my two college kids needed to be insurance by me even though they both had their own insurance. I eventually was able to resolve my son because his other insurance was also with Progressive (this took about 3 weeks and a number of representatives). I was told they would not resolve my daughter because she was with another insurance company (not Progressive). So I paid an additional fee for her to be an unregistered driver in my household and thought that was resolved. But that didn't last long as I continued to be billed for her as a driver as well. With each bill I would call and plead my case again, each representative was new and had to put me on hold to review case, and told they were processing it. Underwriting just sent me another document dump today. Same forms I filled out before. They only accept snail mail so as to pro-rate the bill for a driver that should never have been on there. With each passing day the bill just increases. It has been 3 months, 10 representative calls, 3 underwriting calls, and nothing has been resolved but continued billing to the point of harassment. I have not been treated as a customer by this company. I would not use them again. read more

This company is pretty awful for sure. Was hit by one of their clients and had to deal directly with them. They were very slow and then once they totaled out my car very pushy. Was told I couldn't extend my rental car past Tuesday, when my appointment with them is on Tuesday. They said you can only have the rental 5 days past total so I am being left without a vehicle and no way to work. Even though two of those 5 days were Saturday and Sunday, which it's against the law to sell a car on Sunday. I hate leaving bad reviews but this is necessary.. Although I have been pleased with my insurance coverage over the years with Progressive my experience with the service center was not as satisfactory. After spending $2,000 on repairs I expect more then my experience with the service center. When I picked up my car my glove box and trunk were clearly gone through (probably to find tools or the key to unlock my rims) and left a mess. My belongings were taken out of my trunk and the tools that were taken out of my tool box (which belong under the spare tire), were thrown on pot of my things such as a dog bed and my yoga mat and not placed back in the tool box where they belong. I keep everything in my car very organized and tools and such very accessible as they are always kept in their designated place. If you use something that doesn't belong to you it should be put back where you found it, am I right? I felt like the people working on my car were disrespectful to my things and clearly lazy with their job. I will never have work done on my car through the Progressive Service Center again. read more

Do not do business with Progressive! I received an email recently from Progressive Insurance stating that they were going to add new driver named Joshua to my insurance if they didn't hear from me. I have a couple issues with this. First no one named Joshua lives at my address. Second, I have no children. And lastly, if I need someone added to my insurance I know what to do. After some run around I was given a phone number to call and spoke to a representative. Apparently Progressive was "notified" by the DMV that that Joshua who's last name isn't the same as mine recently got his driver's license. Joshua did indeed live here about 4 years ago. He's 21 and a Junior at a college in another state. I told them this and asked to be taken off any list that causes these emails to occur. The representative said she couldn't guarantee that and that my contract stated that all members of my household "must" be insured by Progressive. That's absolutely ridiculous. I will insure anyone who needs it with any company I choose. I immediately canceled my insurance with Progressive and won't do business with them again or any company who sells their insurance. WAY too expensive for the little I drive. I have had no accidents/moving violations in at least ten years - 5 of which I've been here in CO. I have a 2002 Sonata with approximately 90K and my 6 month auto renewal just arrived in the mail with an increase of $40 ($593). Why doesn't Progressive offer a twelve month policy? Upon calling customer service to inquire, I was told their system doesn't automatically calculate the discount for customers with continuous service and my rate would probably drop as a result. Even after recalculating and plugging in all eligible discounts I was quoted as $446.50 for the next 6 months. I also hold a home insurance policy with them so this was their "better" rate. Did I mention I always pay in full?! Since I drive so little, I tried Snapshot in 2010 when I first signed with Progressive. After completing the trial month I received a letter from Progressive stating I qualified for the Snapshot discount and returned the device. Shortly thereafter I was contacted by Progressive and given the option of either re-installing the device or readjusting my policy to the full amount without Snapshot discount. FYI: they require the device to remain for 6 months - the entire length of my policy! I refused Snapshot this time around as it started to feel more like a tracking device than a "good driver" discount program. Seems they could just take a look at my DMV history; they got access to it! Regardless, I knew right then I was gonna make the change. Great news is I just got a better policy through AAA Travelers Insurance for $764 for a whole year which includes a $25K increase in property damage and $50 windshield deductible that wasn't offered by Progressive. In the end I'll have my renters through Travelers at a cost of $20 more a year but will save almost $250 in auto. More protection through a better policy that cost less. I've been a progressive customer since 2002 and have comes to terms that with this insurance provider loyalty, an exceptional driving record and good credit mean nothing. Previously, I shared a policy with my son and before the recent increase we were paying $236.00 per month for one full coverage vehicle/one liability coverage vehicle; which was still okay, I thought... About four weeks ago, I received a notification of a $60 increase with no reasoning why other than "rate increases". I knew then I needed to start shopping around and since my son purchased himself a new vehicle we feared this was going to be an issue with cost. Through Progressive his insurance on the new vehicle was close to $450 dollars, so he decided to part ways with Progressive purchasing coverage through Esurance for $300 dollars, $150 LESS!! I thought, well good for him and looked forward to having him removed from my policy to bring down my rates of carrying a young driver with Progressive. Needless to say by removing his vehicle from my policy I was looking at an increase that would cost me $360 a month for just myself. (((((((((((((((((($360.00)))))))))))))))))))))))))) No way! I asked why and was told that since I am taking a vehicle off my policy I lose the benefits of a lower rate. Unacceptable, plain and simple. So, today I cancelled my policy after 12 years, they did not care what so ever which was dis-hearting. But on the flip side of things......I called Esurance and for the exact same coverage and because of my driving record I was rewarded. Moving forward my insurance is $113.00, per month, again for the EXACT same coverage. So long Progressive, your high priced policy's won't be missed. read more

They took over $2000 from my bank account and were unable to return it once we removed that driver from my policy. Instead, they claim to have credited that amount toward my policy. She took care of everything and was delightful and personable while doing so. I had not been in a accident since my teenage years and I was already dealing with the stress of my wedding come up. I was rear ended this morning, called Progressive immediately (as well as the other guy's insurance company). They got me an appointment at the service center within 1.5 hours. Drove there with my wife and dog in tow, they immediately came out to assist us, even offered water/soda and snacks (for the pooch too!!) while we waited. Paperwork was simple and my rental car was ready within 5 minutes. Blaise (our service rep) was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, and very friendly. She made it so easy to drop off my car, fill out the paperwork for the claim, and leave with my rental car. I was there for about 30mins total (including the time it took to check over my car and the rental car). I highly recommend this place if you are a Progressive customer...they really care about their clients! read more

Where to begin my horrible experience with Progressive insurance. In November 9 2020 my car was stolen, of course put the claim with the police department, insurance and credit loan. The claim department is a mess to begin. Nasty customer service from beginning to end. I have been a gold member with them for years. Of course I never thought I would have to use the things insurance offers, but as a paying member I knew I would be covered. WRONG!!!! When I purchased the car I was never told about Gap insurance, so when my car was stolen I was stuck with the bill. 30 days pass and no luck in finding my car So the insurance paid what they believed the car was worth. I had a 2015 Dodge journey. They paid a portion to the credit company I pay my car loan too. The rest of it I am still responsible for the rest of the $6000. Now 3 months later I got the call from the police department that they found our family car and I was to go get it. I can't explain how happy I was, specially when I saw they did didn't really do damage to the car and my daughters stuff was still in there. The next day I added the insurance again and called the credit people to let them know that my car was found and to make sure the title was going to be once I was done with paying the 6000. They stated the car does not belong to me that I had to call Progressive and see what we can work out so I can get the car under my name now. I finally got a call from Progressive claim department telling me they will be picking up the car because it's their property, although I am still paying for it. So I told them if its their car they can pay for the rest of the loan. They said NO that is my responsibility. I continued to ask and beg so we can come to an agreement so I can get the car back, even pay off what they paid off (of what they think the car is worth) they said no that they will be picking up the car and put it in an auction. I even asked how much for so I can buy it back. I kept getting simply NO NO NO. This is the way Progressive treats their loyal Gold members. Awful. Their driver destroyed my car, in perfect mechanical condition. I wasted a half a day driving to their repair joint, then given a fake, under-estimate, with them hoping that I would immediately take their check. When I actually took the car in for repair, Progressive then said "your car is totaled" and their initial estimate was about $1800 too little- their final total payment for my car was $1600 short of the repair bill, and about $1000 less than the replacement cost of the car. If this is confusing, yeah, that's how they plan in: Give an initial estimate that's far too low, and when the car is taken in for repair, keep it as low as the law allows. And to top it off, when I asked the agent, "What was the whole purpose of wasting a half of a day on the first estimate if you weren't going to pay to fix my car as you promised? ", he had absolutely no answer and was merely rudely angry that I bothered to ask. He finally admitted, "We had to see the damage so that if you got in another accident we wouldn't have to pay for any additional damage." How convenient for them. All insurance companies are in it to line their pockets, that's it. They're not doing anybody any favors and the public is paying for it all. Have you looked at insurance company profits online? That should clue you in that their not your friend. Progressive profits were up 20% last year. You're lucky if you don't get burned. Get a cheap car, pay for liability, and if your car gets wrecked, you can buy a new one or have the repairs done yourself with the THOUSANDS you save on overpriced insurance. I'd NEVER get Progressive, and that's based alone on their obnoxious, totally lying ads they spend millions on brain washing TV hypnotized viewers. They used comps to get a fair market value for a total loss that were 72 miles away just to use a lower price to value the car at when there were cars less than 15 miles away that could have been used. They bad mouthed the dealership and stated they inflated the price of the car just to sell it. The dealership sold us a car that never broke down and was way nicer than other dealerships. I pay 250 dollars more with progressive than another company so I though with full coveradge on 3 cars I would at least get a fair price for my car.
