Best bubble tea place in Edmonton. Period. Service is good, atmosphere is alright, and the bubble tea is amazing! This is where my bubble tea experience for started. They don't just specialize in bubble tea, they offer slushies, ice cream, iced tea, and also shaved ice. They have many flavors of bubble tea to choose from; you can find familiar flavors such as strawberry, mango, coconut, then you can find different flavors such as iced chai tea. Bubble tea is provided in a thin layered plastic cup...sometimes I wonder about the cup integrity, but it never breaks. They also seal the drink with some plastic with stereotypical Asian anime designs. Keep in mind the drink sizes are HUGE, and can be considered a meal itself. This is a great place to take someone out to, or even go with a group of people. They have some couch seating with games such as Jenga available. If you have never tried bubble tea, this is definitely a good place to start your bubble tea adventure. read more

I'm not a huge fan of bubble tea, but my girlfriend loves them. Can't get enough, in fact. And although I rarely order here, I can tell you I really dig the vibe of the place. We're always greeted with a friendly hello when we arrive. The place is always packed, but not overly noisy (other than the sounds of blenders and light background music). A friendly crowd frequents Dream Tea House, and the service is always quick. We're usually in and out in less than 5 minutes, even when it's really busy. Dream tea is a classic for bubble tea. There have been a lot of newer bubble tea places opening up in Edmonton but it's still pretty good. There is a large selection of flavors available; however, unlike other chains that have opened, the sugar, ice, etc is not as customizable. Dream tea offers food snacks that are fairly tasty but I find them to be a little expensive. This location has renovated and looks much more modern and cleaner than it has in the past. read more

By far the best place in town that makes bubble tea! Before I came to this place, I wasn't a fan of bubble tea, I actually disliked bubble tea, then a friend told me to come with him to this location for one. I was a little hesitant at first but once I tried it, I knew this was it for me. I've been to another bubble tea place since then and I can honestly say, it still is the best after years of being open. I still am not a fan of tapioca, but they have other jellies you can choose from, you can also choose something else other than bubble tea, there are milkshakes you can have which are a bit thicker and richer than bubble tea. And you can add jellies to the milkshakes too. Its a nice place to hang out and talk to your friends. They have activities for rent too, like jenga. So there's always something to do. I'm only sad that there isn't another location closer to me, so having bubble tea is a luxury. Its only for when I find myself on whyte ave, in West Ed or their newest location on 23 ave. This is Edmonton's best Bubble Tea. The pearls are syrupy and firm, not the tough or bland blobs I've had at some other places. They do real fruit, not over-sweet powders, and they seem to customize any detail. It's a shame there isn't a location nearer me - but they're worth the drive! read more

Bubble tea please! Who doesn't love a bubble tea date? Great location just off the Ave with no more renovations! Right by No Frills and Dollarama, in case you need to do some errands. Dream tea makes me reminisce of my adventures in Asia. It has a good balance of cute and comfortable with a wide variety of drinks. I am not a bubble tea expert or connoisseur by any means, but every drink I have tried has been delicious! I tend to lean towards the salty milk caps as they are strange but oh so good. But my favourite part are the green onion cakes! Mm. They cut them up into small pieces so that I take longer to devour them. I swear they had bright yellow walls before! I was really excited bout this place. It took about 15-20 minutes for us to get our drinks, and I ordered a chocolate milkshake and it barely tasted like chocolate. Bubble tea at it's best. I prefer the tea based bubble tea (not the milky kind, as I find they bother my stomach). I've switched from tapioca to jelly, and I couldn't be happier. The bubble tea craze begins here! This is the most commercialized tea house in the city and it has served them well. I love bubble tea and I have gotten it from all over the city (about 6 different places) and Dream Tea House comes out on top every time. At Dream, the drinks are actually fully blended - I have never sucked up a piece of ice through my straw (as I have at every other tea house I have been too). And besides the incredible drinks, Dream has an atmosphere that is unmatched. They are always busy and people are always having a good time - whether chatting with a friend or getting a group together and playing one of the games that they have available, it is always a good time. My daughter's favorite place so I went there. Tea was good but the boba was too mush. Overall good place to go.

I ordered a real fruit coconut bubble tea with skim milk. And as i was driving away realized they had given me a cup of skim milk with tapioca balls. Who would want to pay 6 dollars for a cup of skim milk?!?!? This wasn't the first time I had bad service at Dream Tea, and i had already told myself not to go back but i had a moment of weakness and they proved me right in thinking that they are the worst bubble tea house in Edmonton. Also why do they have walls to block off your view of what they are doing? If I had the chance to see that they filled my cup with skim milk and then sealed it I could have said something and fixed the issue before I left. Bad service, bad drinks ( Most of their artificial flavour drinks are VERY artificial tasting, gross ) would recommend Tea Place because they use real fruit AND they don't hide what they are making for you. read more

I very rarely do reviews, as I don't have much time to, but I really felt the need to tell people how bad the service is at this particular location. The girl who helped us didn't have enough change to break a hundred dollar bill, when our bill was 26 dollars. So she didn't even have 75 dollars in her till. What's worse, is she made it like it was our issue. When we offered interact instead, she was already so upset she refused our payment. As a customer ready to pay, the company should never refuse payment, especially if it was their issue to begin with. We were treated with such terrible attitude from this girl. We ended up going across the street to Taiwan bubble tea instead. We were loyal customers of dream tea, but we will never go back. Too many other choices now we can pick!! read more

NEVER again in my life will I go to any of the Dream Tea locations. Last week, my husband and I got two bubble tea drinks which caused us to get food poisoning. It was so bad we had to go to the hospital. I am currently pregnant and this could've seriously harmed my baby. Half the menu products are not available because they aren't popular. Also placing strawberries on ice in a floral arrangement is not conducive to ice not melting. I've been to the West Ed location many times. Great fast service and the flavour is consistent each time I go. They also have a loyalty card - 9 stamps and you get one bubble tea free. Dream Tea is not bad, but not great. Like many other reviewers have noted, they are so successful because of their several locations and lack of competition in Edmonton. I have had varying levels of success when venturing into new territory on their menu and have generally had the most luck with just passion fruit green tea or an avocado smoothie. Their drinks definitely tend to be quite sweet, but you'll have to be careful when asking for half-sweet or even skim milk (instead of 3%) as it can significantly change the flavour. The customer service at Dream Tea is probably their worst point but with their high rates of employee turnover, I can't say I'm surprised...also, don't bother with their hot menu items.
