June was warm and friendly to greet me, she was eager to get the car inspection started. AAA backs up to Little Sugar Creek greenway so I was able to take a beautiful, relaxing walk while my car was being inspected. June called when the inspection was finished and stated what was needed. I chose one option and was happy there was no hard pushy sale for the other Maintance options. I had a really disappointing experience at FedEx Office Print & Ship Center today. I stopped in to…read moreship a return and asked where I could find a clear plastic pouch for my shipping label. The associate told me I couldn't use the FedEx pak for ground shipping, so I asked what I could use. He handed me a plain white envelope with no explanation. Since it wasn't branded or labeled, I assumed it was complimentary or included--especially since nothing was mentioned about a cost. After I sealed my package, the associate scanned my label and only then told me there was a charge for the envelope. That's not how customer service should work. Basic transparency--especially around pricing--should come before a customer uses a product, not after. When I questioned it, the associate simply shrugged, which made the experience even worse. I don't typically use FedEx, and unfortunately this experience reinforced why. In the future, I'll stick with UPS or United States Postal Service, where communication has been much clearer.

It's that time of the year again when I need to start bringing my cars in for their inspection. The…read moreAAA Car Care Center in Ballantyne got it done. I did not have an appointment and that was not a problem on this particular morning. They were able to get my car started and the service manager said that he'd give me a call when it was ready. I headed over for breakfast. An hour later, my car was nearly ready. Inspection done, oil change done, but they wanted to know if it was okay to charge an additional $30 to repair a nail in one of my tires. Yes, please. A half hour later, I was ready to roll. Car inspected, oil changed, tires all with air. Easy, pleasy. Thank you, AAA!

Passport: I had to get a photo for my Canadian passport. The fellow at the passport desk had me…read morestand and click for a photo. I saw him on the machine doing something. He then showed it to me, it was wrong. Canada has its passport information posted on their site and clearly shows the size/dimension and what needs to be in and on the back of the picture. I told the guy and he adamantly disagreed. He said our machine is set to Can. PP standards. With that I sent in my renewal fee with that picture. A few weeks later I got a call saying the picture is wrong. I must send another with the required information on the back. I went back to the Ballantyne location and thankfully a gal was there. She took it and it came out perfect, it was the size it should be. No adjustments. She stamped the back with the location info, her name, etc. My advice... go elsewhere if you see that small fellow in front of the computer at the PP desk. Membership renewal: Another day I went in to renew my AAA membership. I've been a member for 48 yrs. I had to change my address due to a move. Received my new card in the mail with the correct acct number. A few weeks later I received mail with another card to my current address. It had my previous married last name with a different acct number? I've been divorced for 17 yrs. I took the card into the Ballantyne office and asked... why this? The fellow looked around on the computer and couldn't figure it out. I asked him to cancel that membership, said he did. Someone had to go back in the AAA history to find that info., then take the time to create a new card and have it sent out.

Had to reach out myself to ask for invoicing detail. Had to reach out myself to ask about what we need to do for transfers. No communication leading up to departure. I just happened to look up Dominican Republic, which is our destination, day before flight and learned that you have to submit an application for an e-ticket to get into the country. Must be done in advance and country approval for travelers. Called the travel agent and she was clueless. Had I not happen to come across this, we would have been in trouble. Travel agent also got us zero perks with hotel. What's the point? Travel agent did absolutely nothing for us.
