Terrible yogurt. I purchased one in the flavor Blueberry Cardamom to try at Sprouts because the flavor combination sounded delicious. I got around to eating it one day before the printed best by date. I opened it and saw it was very runny so I double checked the date and decided to try it anyways. I'm not familiar with cream top yogurt. I did get swayed a bit by the cute cow packaging and bright colors, but the flavor ultimately made me try it. When I tried the yogurt I stirred it a little to mix in the bit of liquid at the top. It was quite runny and when I tasted it, sour! Definitely not edible in my opinion. Funny thing is it smelled fine and quite good actually. You could definitely smell the blueberry and cardamom. I couldn't taste them though. I emailed the company inquiring about how their yogurt should taste and what the texture should be like. I addressed the sour taste and runny texture. Their response was, "When the yogurt is stirred or shaken vigorously it will always turn into a smoothie texture. When we make it, the yogurt has a custard texture but that is easily disrupted due to the lack of stabilizers and gums in the product. Did the lid has cream stuck to the top?" I didn't shake it and I had stirred it gently to mix it. I did email back that I think the lid had a little bit of cream stuck to the top. I know there wasn't anything special worth noting because I hadn't even known it was cream top yogurt when opening it. I didn't get a response after that. I think they were satisfied that there was some semblance of cream on the lid. Who cares if it tasted sour and disgusting. The company does have a good mission statement and business practices from what I read on their website, but I didn't know that going into it. Still doesn't make me want to try another one of their yogurts. read more

Moo! Just look at the cows on their website. Are they not ADORABLE? After seeing them around, I finally got to taste the cream top yogurt. The difference is that during the production of cream top yogurt, the non-homogenized milk has a layer of cream that floats to the top, making it a rich and creamy yogurt known for its luxuriousness and indulgence, as it is much higher in fat content than the trend towards low and non-fat yogurt. The couple who started the company is Kyle and Janelle Wehner; they call themselves the farm boy and the kiwi, because Mrs. Wehner is from New Zealand (how cute is that??). Now, they offer flavors in Vanilla Agave, Regular, Honey and Pear, Maple Ginger, and the Strawberry Pomegranate. I liked them all, but the Regular and Vanilla Agave tasted a bit similar for me. Honey and pear was very mild, I had to find the flavors (still a great flavor though). Strawberry pomegranate was good in a tart way, though a suggestion is to add strawberry chunks to make it even more delicious. The standout for me was the Maple Ginger! I never thought this combination would taste good, but it is almost addicting! The cows are fed grass, so I can definitely taste the difference as well (this is a good thing, as yogurt usually comes from grain-fed cows....that's like feeding cows on a diet of candy. It's not right/sustainable, and is also the reason why grain/corn prices are low for a reason.) My biggest qualm is that the yogurt's consistency isn't its standout point, as the curds are in chunks and there is liquid amidst it all. It's not homogenized milk used, so I can't really blame them. I can definitely see a problem with customers used to Yoplait, though. But the ultimate reason why I give them this rating is for their treatment of their cows. New Zealand is famous for its open, green pastures and rotational farming techniques (you wonder why lamb is best from New Zealand? Yeah. That's it.) as opposed to the American horror stories, and this couple brought that technique to America. They do their best with the best ingredients they can procure as they use organic ingredients, sugar alternatives (agave sweetners), and call calves "our babies". My biggest regret is not being able to tell Peter Singer and Jim Mason of The Ethics of What We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter before they published their book. How happy they would be if they were able to come and see this farm! read more

I found this at Publix and was happy to see grass-fed yogurt at a reasonable price. The flavor sounded a bit strange, Dark Cherry Chai, but I thought I would try it anyway. I'm very sorry to say that the first word that popped into my head when I put this yogurt in my mouth was "nasty". I don't know what's wrong with it exactly- the flavor is just so..yuck. Besides that, the texture is all wrong. I've had home-made yogurt before, my mom had a yogurt maker for a while, and this is nothing like that. It's really runny, like they added water or something. I was very excited about the interesting package, and the "Dark Cherry Chai" flavor. I found nothing disagreeable about the yogurt. I could smell dark cherry and chai, but could not find anything inside that resembled a cherry. Finally a healthy yogurt with grass fed cows, the best kind. Any other is risky. Read the reports on contaminated beef with fecal bacteria. The biggest plus is that it's not disgustingly sweet. I love this yogurt. I used to eat Greek Nonfat yogurt with fruit but the texture is thick and sour and still had 11 grams of sugar (no added sugar) not including the necessary added fruit on top. But then I tried this yogurt and it's 11g or 13 grams (depending on flavor) per serving with the agave sweetener added. (yes it's added..for those nutritionists) but it's only 1-2 grams more of sugar per serving for an indulgence with creamy European style yogurt top, and all the great probiotics without needing a topping. And with the very slight flavors added to this yogurt I don't really need to add fruit if I don't want to add it. With greek yogurt one must add fruit for taste. So I'm a fan even if my extremist nutritionist friends don't approve of 1-2 grams of added agave syrup. Try finding anything this low in sugar that tastes good (low sugar, and light flavorings that don't mask the flavor of yogurt). It's hard to find. So this one is a keeper in my book. YUM read more

THE BEST yogurt I've had in over 20 yrs THAT I didn't feel GUILTY about eating! Greek Gods is good too, but way, waaay too much fat and kcalories! I love maple, but the ginger was too strong for me.. and the cardamon was too.. So, my ultimate fav is honey pear and I buy a weeks worth every friday! I bought this yogurt last night for my breakfast this morning from Kroger. The packaging was super cute and I loved that it was from grass fed cows. However, when I went to open it up this morning it tasted horrible. I checked the date, it wasn't off. I bought the honey pear, it tasted like nothing. Eh, I'd say the rest of the reviews are reaching due to the feel-good aspect of this yogurt and 'cute' marketing. It's nice to have grass-fed-cow-based yogurt. The cream on top is pretty good. However the yogurt itself is bland, completely bland (Cindy W. remarks on this and yet still gives 5 stars - huh?). I've tried multiple flavors and they all taste like milk fat with a slight inkling of whatever flavor is marketed on the tub. I give props for the comparatively low-sugar content and treatment of cows though. However, if you want creamy yogurt with low-sugar and flavor, just buy plain, greek yogurt with a low-sugar content & add fruit (something I will go back to). If you want to eat bland yogurt simply because it is non-homogenized and the cows are grass-fed then this is your yogurt. read more

I thought I would enjoy this but... It was marked down at my local market so I bought 7 of the Honey Pear. Bad choice! I tried one and it was runny and tasted horrible! Not at all like they described! I thought that maybe it wasn't cold enough since I just brought it home. Well, I had it in the refrigerator all day and just decided I would have one just a little while ago. It is the product! I love this yogurt! It has interesting and unique flavors, which are slight and delicious. People saying it is bland is understandable, however, in my opinion, the flavors are light and not overwhelming. I love the spices and the cream top, and it is completely unique in its idea and it is very satisfying knowing the yogurt comes from grass fed and all natural. The consistency is the perfect break from the fad of thick greek yogurt. Not to mention, the packaging is so cute and appealing! Love it! I hope it lives on. read more

Tried dreaming cow yoghurt for the first time today. It was so good. It does not have an artificial aftertaste and isn't as sweet as some other flavored yoghurt in the market. It actually taste like the yoghurt I had previously bought from an Amish lady that raised her own cow to made her own yoghurt. I love this yogurt! I am so happy to find yogurt from non-homogenized non-pasturized whole milk from grass-fed cows in my local Central Market. The lovely true creamy color (not super white like so many commercial yogurts) tell me that it is rich in natural CLA and vitamins. This yogurt is amazing! My daughter convinced me to go Whole Foods and these yogurt flavors stood out and I tried a few- it's converted me to organic, grass fed dairy!!!! That's saying a lot! I have tried a lot of yogurts but Dreaming Cow by far BEATS any I have tried!!! The flavor pear/honey and maple/ginger stood out in the yogurt section. It is a little more pricey but well worth it! I love this yoghurt. We eat organic and pasture raised. We also avoid processed foods. If you do that you will likei It. If you are looking for commercial yoghurt you may be disappointed. Dreaming Cow yogurt is the best yogurt I have ever had. The lightness of its consistency allows the palate to fully appreciate the subtle flavors blended into it. And what flavor combinations! Honey pear and maple ginger are my favorites. No more heavy 'pudding' types, like so many mainstream yogurts. This yogurt is fresh and light, yet filling because of the non-homogenization of the milk. Although before tasting it, I never would have said this... "I think this is what yogurt is 'suppose' to taste like!" The sustainability of the farm is an extra, huge bonus to a wonderful product. I want to preface this with I don't like yogurt and I never have. I do LOVE this yogurt because for one, it's not too sweet. So many yogurts are just too sweet and this one is not. They do have slight more mild flavors, but I like that. It tastes more natural then the other yogurts in my opinion. Also, I hate that most yogurt have an aftertaste. This yogurt has NO aftertaste. Last, I love that the cows are grassfed and well treated. I think what I pay, 4 yogurts for $5.00 at my grocery store is a steal for the quality of the yogurt and for their ethical treatment of animals. Some people complain of the consistency, but I have no problem with it. I shake the container vigorously and then scoop it over over granola, where I stir it again. I like the smooth texture. I only tried this yogurt because I saw the maple ginger and thought it would be an intersting combo. Wow! Best yogurt I've ever had. So creamy and I love the layer of cream on top. Yes, a couple more fat grams than I'd want in a yogurt, but still reasonable and at only 120 calories or so per container, it's one of my favorite go-to snacks. My two favorite favors are the vanilla agave and the maple ginger. Just wish it was sold more widely as I have to drive a ways to get to a store that sells the product. read more

I bought Maple Ginger. Even though I stirred it vigorously I don't taste maple or ginger.

I was very excited to see this yogurt on the shelf at a Kroger in Canton GA. I eat yogurt every day. I always read ingredients on everything I purchase. I ONLY sweeten with Agave so I was thrilled with the purity and simplicity of the ingredients. I purchased 3 different flavors. When I got home I noticed that the bag had yogurt in it which made me think that one of the foil caps was not sealed thoroughly. This must have been the one I opened today as it was very badly curdled(Vanilla Agave). The one I opened the first night (Ginger) was literally as thin as water and the 2nd one(Pear) was not much thicker. I think they need to work on their quality control before I try them again. I was suspect as I was buying them because the package says keep upright....well I'm not sure that a store can guarantee that...and what exactly does that mean? Do they know their containers may have a breach? Yes it went over in my shopping bag..hence the 1 star rating. read more
