Choosing this company for my backyard landscaping project was an absolute NIGHTMARE！！！！ I spent over $70,000 on a very simple yard--just a retaining wall, plants, artificial turf, concrete, and a patio--and there were problems at literally every step. We signed the contract in Dec 2024, got the permit in February, and they started work. I thought it would be finished before I international trip abroad in May, but they dragged it out until 7/14 for substantial completion . They mismeasured the patio at the start. After the (overseas) materials finally arrived half a year later, the size was wrong. They even had to cut into my wall to remove the builder's pre-installed camera. The concrete shows severe discoloration--blotchy patches from dark gray to chalky white, streaks, and mismatched pours that make the surface look hideous . When I tried to negotiate repairs for the concrete, plants, and light strip, they went and recorded a mechanic's lien on my house--for the last $1,000 that hadn't been paid. What disgust me the most was their attitude: they refused responsibility and blamed the concrete supplier they themselves hired. Instead of fixing the problem, they targeted me as the homeowner and, in my view, filed a baseless $1,000 mechanic's lien using distorted information was absurd and seemed aimed at humiliating and disgusting the homeowner. Overall, a deeply frustrating experience marked by poor workmanship and what I consider negligence and abuse of the mechanic's-lien process. A reminder to anyone considering working with Dreamland Builders: don't be fooled by the project manager's sweet talk. Make sure your contract clearly states the project timeline, and exactly what the warranty covers. We were quite disappointed with this landscaping company's overall service. While the designer /site supervisor we worked with was ok, the rest of the team showed poor customer service. Whenever issues arose, their first response was often to shift responsibility rather than help find a solution. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this company. read more

Please do your research before hiring Dreamland Builders. I recommend checking their CSLB record first: they hold a C-27 (landscaping) license and have prior CSLB citations, including contracting outside their classification and Failing to provide/maintain workers' comp - issued stop order. The details I'm referencing are from public records and are open for anyone to verify. In my experience, once issues arose, the first response was to shift responsibility to the material manufacturers (e.g., the patio manufacturer and concrete manufacturer) rather than taking ownership and addressing the workmanship directly. When I continued to request a resolution, the tone became increasingly aggressive, including mechanic's lien, attorney letters, and threat of voiding warranties, which felt like leverage to pressure the homeowner into compromising. My advice: verify the contractor's license classification matches your project scope, document everything, and choose a contractor who resolves problems through accountability and clear, professional communication. read more

I decided to sign the contract with Dreamland Builders once I saw their design, I could tell their designer really put a lot of thought in it and it was better than other companies. Their construction cost is also very reasonable and they promised they will produce the same work as how they designed it. Eventually they did! My beautiful and modern new back yard. Dreamland Builders did a wonderful job with our front-landscaping. We hired their project manager - Sean, after seeing his hard work and ethic at our neighbor's project. We were very impressed w/ Dreamland's 3D mock-up's and design inputs during the initial planning stages. They knew our HOA representative and framed our plans up as to be compliant with the HOA rules. Sean did a great job taking in our plans then adding his revisions and suggestions to improve the overall project. For instance - we had our minds set on a entryway tile product, but when that material was backordered, Sean recommended an alternative product which we actually liked a lot more! We appreciated Sean being on site regularly and quality checking his team's work. Sean was also extra communicative with his progress and was great about taking in our feedback. We really enjoyed working with Dreamland and Sean and would highly recommend them to others!! read more

I really like how they design my front yard, especially the unique Spanish tile decoration in the space between each entrance step. The project manager is very responsible and dedicated. Dreamland Builders just done a great job on my tiny side yard. They're not the first landscape company we called but after talking with their project manager - Sean, who is also the designer, we decide move forward with them.... So glad we did, Sean is super kind and a good listener. He incorporated lots thoughtful ideas, with his design my little yard feels cozy and looks great, he really brought everything together nicely. Sean managed the overall project and communicated with us regularly from day one to the final finish. And their cost is reasonable, they left some extra paint and floor material in case we need in the future. Overall it's nice to work with them and they get their work done very nice! read more
