He promised the cabinets would be solid wood, but most is mdf. Promised light rails, but none included. Promised feet on the cabinets but none included. We are now having to get someone else to complete the job. Very displeased!!

This started out as a good thing, we ordered a vanity top for our master bathroom but it turned…read moreinto a nightmare! They were very lax about calling you with information concerning when they were coming to do the installation and any follow-up afterward was always initiated by us. During installation the installers almost broke the granite, had my husband not been watching they would have. He told them to just slide it in because they were trying to "wiggle" it in from the top down the sides. In the process they caused a lot of damage to our drywall, we had scraps, scuffs, and lots of chunks torn out of it. We also had a side splash piece that was chipped and they used the wrong color of chalk! They told us that the company would come out and fix the drywall and get the side piece. We waited a day and when we didn't hear from them, we called the office and were told that they were not made aware of any damages! We sent them an email on Sept 18 stating the damages including pictures. After about 2 weeks of calling about when someone would get out to fix it and pick up the side splash piece, we finally got the owner out to look at it, about another week later! He stated that the contract said there might be some scuffs to drywall and we stated that these damages were much more than "scuffs"! He finally agreed to send someone out to fix it and said if they couldn't do so very soon then he would give us a $100 credit so we could get it fixed. We waited another week or so and never heard from them, so I finally called my charge company and disputed the charges because we were having so much trouble getting our side piece fixed and reinstalled and the drywall money. On Oct 9, 2023, they came to get the side piece and returned it on Oct 16th. On October 16, 2023, the owner finally called back to say he couldn't get on his contractor schedule "anytime soon" so he would just pay us the $100. He called on Oct 18th to say he wanted his money now that he had completed the installation of the side piece and reneged on paying the $100 for the drywall! I told him that I had released half of the bill and would release the other half when he paid us the $100 he agreed. He refused and went ballistic screaming at us on the phone! He accused us of using the system to get a free countertop, screaming at us that he wanted his money back in cash not redeposited into his account through the charge card because "we couldn't be trusted!" He even showed up at our house and continued his rampage! He did pay us the $100 in cash but still insisted that we pay him the other half of the bill because he didn't want to wait for the charge company to redeposit it, we told him we would not pay him again, and he just needed to wait just like we waited on him. It has been a nightmare dealing with him! The worst business experience we have ever had!!!

I wasn't sure how to begin writing this review, but I feel it's important to share my experience…read morewith Valor Homes (Liberty Community). We signed our contract in December to build our new home. The first issue was the permitting process, which took nearly two and a half months before construction even began. From that point on, the experience became increasingly frustrating. I am the type of homeowner who closely inspects each stage of construction to ensure everything is done correctly. Initially, I had a positive impression of the sales representative. However, it became clear that she did not have a full understanding of the available options or how to answer many of our questions. I don't believe she intentionally misled us, but she often provided inaccurate information without first confirming the details with management. As a result, I selected upgrades based on incorrect information. It took nearly a month for the issue to be acknowledged and corrected before I finally received what I had originally requested. Once drywall installation began, more problems surfaced. We found light switches installed in the wrong locations, the wrong dishwasher was delivered, and several other construction errors. Unfortunately, getting these issues addressed was extremely difficult. Communication and customer service were disappointing at every level--from the local builder to the corporate team in Birmingham. Rather than feeling like valued customers, we constantly felt like we had to fight for every correction. Considering we invested more than $410,000 in this home, that should never have been the case. During our first inspection, the house was in unacceptable condition. It was dirty and unprepared. Even Valor's own quality assurance representative commented that he would not perform an inspection on a home in that condition. During the walkthrough with the builder, there was significant resistance to nearly every concern we raised. Instead of working collaboratively to resolve issues, we were repeatedly told that requested corrections could not or would not be made until we continued pushing for them. By the time of our final walkthrough, the home still was not ready for closing. Several items remained unfinished and had to be completed after we took possession of the home. In the end, I chose to hire my own contractor to correct some of the remaining issues because I had lost confidence that they would be addressed properly. To be fair, I believe many of the subcontractors did their jobs. The bigger issue was the lack of oversight. There did not appear to be adequate supervision or quality control to ensure work was inspected, deficiencies were identified, and problems were corrected before moving to the next phase. If homeowners don't identify the issues themselves, many of them simply go unaddressed. Valor needs stronger quality control, more thorough inspections throughout the construction process, and better-trained personnel who are empowered to resolve customer concerns promptly. If I had been given the opportunity to cancel the contract and receive my money back before closing, I would have done so without hesitation. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Valor Homes. I would rate my overall experience 0 out of 10. Update: Valor contacted me through their Huntsville sales representative regarding the one-star review I posted. They asked if I would consider removing it, so I explained that my expectation was for all outstanding issues with the home to be resolved. They also offered to install an irrigation system, so based on that commitment, I canceled my contractor and waited for them to move forward. After a week without any communication, I reached out for an update. At that point, I was informed that the owner had decided not to proceed with the irrigation installation. Unfortunately, this was another example of poor communication and unfulfilled commitments. As a result, I do not believe there is a reason to remove the one-star review. In my opinion, Valor has not taken responsibility for the commitments that were made or demonstrated the level of customer service expected after the sale.
